The goal of every off season pre draft is to not HAVE to go after any 1 position. Ballard has done that. If your complaint is we aren't set for years at a position, then you know things aren't bad

this isn’t necessarily true cb & wr are needs and better be addressed lol alec pierce is not it and i like MPJ but he not scaring nobody i’m a fan of downs en the slot

So......it looks like we might end up with the best corner in free agency without giving up one of our premium picks this year.

Our secondary would have some serious potential with Brents having a full off season and Kenny coming back.

This is a big addition, if true.

Ballard could also recoup that 3rd on draft day pretty easily by moving down from 15. Maybe even pick up an extra 2 instead

After this, he should create some more space and bring in Justin Simmons.

ballard needs to pick a difference maker @ 15 im tired of this trade back nonsense … montez sweat @ Dk metcalf are supposed to colts … pick a premium player CB/WR/EDGE

Yeah but a pick swap #15 to #32 wasn't too bad on the value chart. Mid 2nd round value.

And kept the same amount of picks as before the trade.

This trade offer reported probably gives out about late 2nd round value.

Never really though we would give 1st or 2nd unless it was swapping picks in those rounds.

I think 3rd and 2025 pick always made the most sense.

ppl saying colts giving up a 1st was nonsense i think a pick swap wouldn’t have been worth it either tbh … pick 15 is a game changer on a young team (that’s too valuable to give up 2 a DC that’s gonna make him play off coverage 50% of the time lol)

Hard pass on Keenan Allen.  Getting paid a lot.  32 years old.  Can’t stay healthy.

what this means though is a trade back is most likely going to happen.  So many wide receivers are going to be gone by 15 and I don’t see us trading up.  I was so excited about the thought of BTJ or Bowers coming to the Colts.  But that’s not happening now.

ugghh, this sucks.  Maybe Arnold will be there at 15.

lol why do yu think that 😂 it’s gonna be BTJr & AMitchell will be there

he is pat angerer. I said it about pat years ago when everyone else here was on that bandwagon and have been saying the same thing about Zaire. They both get tackles 5 yards down field, and Zaire has a good line in front of him! I want better, I don’t have a problem having him as a backup, so I wouldn’t have given him the extension. Time will tell.

derrick henry thinks otherwise … zaire is a real player

Well that chart actually shows the pressure rate in relation to the blitz rate. If you look at the horizontal, we have 32+ percent pressure rate.

the vertical shows the blitz rate, we blitzed very rarely. Something I think has to change. But on that same token, it shows that when we did blitz we got pressure 32 percent of the time.

this isn’t a chart showing the number of total pressures but rather a chart showing the numbers of pressures we got when we blitzed

yea if the colts blitz more we would get more pressure …. it happens en games, we see it & then gus decides we’ll let’s play C3 on 3rd n 7 .

  7. 1 minute ago, csmopar said:

Okay so then why is everyone saying our pass rush was lower tier in the league. I’m confused

bc during games yu see the numbers not fairing relative to real time ..: thr scheme or player or what have makes for inconsistency on the field.

yu get a pressure but not the sack

ex. stroud to collins en week 17 for huge gain

or a combination of a sack but then chunk conversions that made the sack irrelevant…

ite really bc gus sucks at creating a scheme that’s built to confuse & rattle the opponent

its cover 3 mix en man & pray

I think we may have driven up the price. Ballard may have known that Hunter wouldn't sign with us and wanted to go home to Houston, so he took advantage of a team who lost Greenard. Very possible.

yall create anything en y’all’s minds. why do y’all pull at strings to paint a positive narrative out of nothing. it’s weird. Ballard did nothing & i like ballard but stop giving him random kudos for made up stories en your head

51 sacks is not representative of the strength of that DL. Sacks are very much luck dependent. A much more representative stat is the number(%) of pressures, hits, hurries and there we've been around the bottom of the league for years. This DL is not good at disrupting the passer.

I posted a graph recently that encapsulated well the struggles of this DL... I'm trying to find it, but can't right now. Will come back to you if/when I find it.

    Edit: Here it is:

    GGT6z-tW0AMcYe_?format=png&name=900x900

This defense doesn't blitz and it doesn't pressure the QB. It provides very limited disruption of the opposing QB. We pretty much allow them to drop back, scan the field and execute their offense. IMO this defense will never be great when the fundamentals of it's pass-disruption are this poor.

THANK YU BRAVO … ppl see numbers and act like other ppl aren’t watching the actual games play out…

how many random qbs kill the colts bc of the scheme, ALMOST weekly 😂😂 but 51 sacks right, right guys ?!? 😂 child please

You sound silly. Use of the word elite makes you a joke.

And have to laugh that you state the line got shredded when our back seven, as a unit, was obviously so poor in coverage All Season. And the record setting season the year before btw.

using the words “elite” en quotations is making fun of the fact that ppl think the colts getting 51 sacks makes the colts elite when actually they only look elite against mediocre teams, learn to listen b4 attacking kid. blame your d coordinator & GM for the back 7 issues. they refuse to help them w trash schemes & subpar talent

last time i checked that hasn’t changed so i dnt wanna hear the excuses. the secondary sucks bc that’s how the team has been built … cry to your mama not me

and i didn’t say the line got shredded i say the colts did implying good qbs & good offenses have their way w the colts defense and their “elite” D line. does that make sense to yu now 🤪

Seems as if you might of contradicted the point you were trying to make in the first sentence, with the 2nd sentence?

no i’m not i’m eluding to the fact that if it happens w good teams the fact that it also happens when a decent coordinator can take a backup & make him a top 5 qb against this elite pass rush … yu should be alarmed

I don't know where you are coming from with Pierce? I have not heard one person say they think Pierce is ready to explode?

If the Colts draft a WR with their 1st or possibly even 2nd round pick, I would expect that player would be able to start.

exactly, everybody knws colts are picking a wr within the 1st 2 rounds

I understand you were looking at it from the Colts point of view.   I was trying to see it from Fields’s point of view.   I want to see him play as much as possible.

But flipping the script, I can see what you’re saying, and there would be clear benefits for the Colts.  I’m confident that a Mad Scientist like Steichen could come up with a number of gadget plays for Fields to use all season long.

richardson fields taylor backfield could be bonkers honestly lol
