  1. Let's face it very few established veteran players want to play in preseason games. some not even in practice, with the chance that they can get hurt before the regular season, starts. They feel that they can minimize the chance of injury better, if they work out on their own, And be ready for the regular season. The up and coming players need this time to get up to speed with the vets. I know the coaches, in a perfect world would like to have the veterans also with them, but I can see both, the coaches, and the veterans point of view. The fact that this is a business, veteran players have to look out for their selves.
  2. I think he doesn't want to end his career on this note yet. He wants to leave a better mark before he is done.
  3. I keep telling you to rub some dirt on it to make it better, but no one will believe Peyton. I for one have great belief in Manning's statement. LOL
  4. The biggest difference between Peyton & Andrew is, Peyton rubbed some dirt on his injuries, and Andrew forgot to do the same earlier in his career.
  5. The schedule, looks a lot more daunting based on what each team did a year ago, but as you well know a new year brings uncertainties to every team in the NFL. Injuries play a major role in each teams goals. Obviously, we will not be overlooked as much this year, but that will be our challenge. We seem to have more depth going into this season, so the expectations will be higher. I think that not putting ourselves in a hole to start the season, is a major goal to shoot for.
  6. As long as this particular situation is not resolved, it will be a topic of conversation.
  7. They definitely upgraded their QB situation, in Foles, If they have a decent offensive line this year, they will be the team for us to beat in our division.
  8. I think it just solidifies most peoples opinion , that running backs, are not worth the money, if you just platoon decent ones in a rotation. The fact that these players can hold out to so call hold the team "hostage", is not what you want for your team. I hope that this doesn't becomes, like the NBA, a strictly players driven league, where the team no longer has any say so, in shaping their team.
  9. It's always possible , depending on injuries, but if we don't have major injuries, I see us moving forward , in the right direction this year. to be a player in the AFC championship.
  10. To be the best, you have to beat the best, so regardless of who we play, to get to our objective we have to win, one game at a time.
  11. Oh, buy the way, it was the most humiliating game to come back to high school the week after, to face my buddies, after I built up the Colts before the game. This was without a doubt, my worst week to face in High School. After that game , I learned to be humble, Believe me. LOL.
  12. So my question to you is money, draft pics, or trade possibilities aside, Would you want this player on the Colts? Even without knowing the results of his questionable past ? based on what you know ? Would this not raise any integrity, or concerns to have this man on your roster?
  13. I do have sour grapes living through that game in that era. 9 times out of 10 we should have dominated that game. Were we over confident leading up to that game as a 17 point favorite? Definitely, Since the preveniently Packers won Super Bowl 1 & 2. We viewed the AFL as a minor Football league, at the time. When we dominated the Browns in the NFL Championship game 34 to zero., We thought that we were already the pro football champions. At that time the so called Super Bowl was just a formality. Before that game we thought that we were already the Pro football champion, This was just a game to show our dominance. Just like back in the day when the NFL champion played the college all stars before pre season. Seems crazy now, that back in the day the pro football champs would play the college all stars, right? But back then, the best of college players would actually play in this game. now ? not so much.
  14. I am from South Carolina, And I saw a lot of his games, before he turned pro, Over the years, the thing that jumps out at me is, despite his talent, speed, and size, he has his moments, but seems to under achieve, and takes plays off through his college career. and also pro. When you add on his history of injuries, I would not give him a big contract.
  15. Did anyone see "A football Life" on Namath? As a fan I went through that era. An as a Colts fan, while it was going on I despised the man. His statistics, (if you are a stats guy) might not see him as a "GOAT" contender but, It reminded me of how much that man changed the culture of that era. His life had a lot of ups and downs, but, historically he was a major player in the evolution of the NFL. Sometimes it's not just about looking back on statistics but, seeing " What did this individual do to change the league. Sometimes I think that is also relevant . Any thoughts on this? Is their other Players, if you look back in history that you can think of also made an impact?
  16. We are finally building a team around Andrew, that he should have had, years ago. We were impatient, and thought that we could just start where we left off with Peyton.
  17. "Stuff Happens" (Stuff wasn't the word I really meant, LOL" Can I say the S**t word?
  18. If you base your integrity on what, "Did the DA have enough evidence to charge him," then I feel sorry for you. People beat the rap all the time on technicalities. Just OJ Simpson for example. He beat the rap as far as convicted for murder. He lost the civil suit, But he was exposed for what type of man he was, as his actions down the road spoke volumes to what kind of man he really was.
  19. I agree with NewColtsFan, I think everyone is over thinking and reading way too much from last year into this. We were coming back from the ashes and just ran out of gas. This was not a surprise , or it should not have been that we lost against a team that had an excellent year, and was elite, rested, at home, use to the weather, It doesn't take rocket science to understand why we under performed. My god man be happy we did as good as we did last year. I was very proud of what we accomplished last year considering where we were at before the season started, and as of the first 6 games we played.
  20. I think you mean call his own audibles instead of "freestyling". If he sees the need to change the play.
  21. Each game after going 1-5 was a virtual playoff game, son.
  22. I saw that, It's soo sad what happened. Devastating to work his young life toward a goal to play in the NFL and for that to happen, but life has a twisted way sometimes. My prayers and thoughts are to his family, for his full recovery, and hope he can find peace from this somehow, to know that his life is not over, he just has to seek a new direction in his young life.
  23. There was posts that were already hanging it up for the year and I replied it was to early to give up on the year because it was about getting better as a team with all of the changes and Luck's comeback as a QB. My point was if for some reason we did not win many of the remaining games, And we had a top 3 draft choice. There would have been discussion brought up about drafting a QB if people thought Luck was not showing improvement last season. We already have people complaining about his performance in the KC game. I'm not one of them. As he gets better and the team around him improves, then critic his performance. People seem to forget how long he was out, and his long rehab, he had to endure.
  24. Johnnie U from being drafted & cut by the Steelers, & their coach saying he thought that Unitas was not smart enough to be QB in the NFL. His leadership to winning , back to back championships, in 58 and 59 for the Colts. He put the NFL, as you enjoy it today on the map nationally. You as a Colts fan should be proud to have this as a legacy. Records are made to be broken, statistically, but to be a pioneer in the game from inception is something no other fan of any other team can ever take away from us. I know there were pro football before this, and I am a fan of history, of what was accomplished even before this event. But Nationally in America, The attraction to the NFL sky rocketed when this event was televised.
