I was one who boo’d it.. i understand your reasoning and you might be correct. I just feel he has not been given top end targets and then got hurt. A chance to get him a stud #1 wr or stud young te would be the way they should go. But your pick isnt crazy. Heck it fits the way the giants do things.. which i think is wrong and leads to them firing a damn good coach if they dont make playoffs this next season. I doubt they let him start another qb over.

I think you're right with the WR/TE thing in NY. But we all know how this business works.... A new QB might buy you some time. Or at least the coach and GM hope so...

And the owner himself said it's not out of this world they take a qb.

  2. To all that may think the giants move for McCarthy was wrong or whatever, here my thoughts:

In my opinion Daniel Jones is not the long term answer at qb for the Giants. He's somewhere around the Dalton-Line and that is not enough. With the hope of not picking that high again next year and the magic of Daboll, they take a shot at McCarthy.

They then could opt to start Jones week1 and trade him to a contender who's qb misses some time due to injury. If not, he can sit and learn for a whole season.

I know it was a bold move, but I think it's not completely out of this world in reality. We've seen teams making bigger moves almost every year.

Edit: just did some research, and what should I say?!

The amount of Mock drafts and "experts" having the Giants pick a qb is quite high. I don't think it was so incredibly bold what I did here.....

     Quinyon Mitchell*, CB, Toledo

    Height: 6-0. Weight: 196.

    40 Time: 4.33

Forget about sneed  we got this kid right here will save money and lock up a young corner.  If we were Super Bowl contenders I’d say go after sneed .

    SouthCarolina_logo.gif.bmp

     Xaiver Legette, WR, South Carolina

    Height: 6-3. Weight: 227.

    Projected 40 Time: 4.39

Big strong fast wideout can bully corners and free up Pittman.

    Miami_logo.gif.bmp

     Kamren Kinchens*, S, Miami

    Height: 5-11. Weight: 203.

    40 Time: 4.65.

40 time may cause him to slide we have to jump on that pick .The guy is everywhere true ball hawk . If he ran a fast 40 he’s a 1st rounder. Similar to last year Antonio Johnson on the jags he ran like a 4.53 an dropped . I wanted Johnson last year on the colts . Anyhow his production may out weigh his combine .

     Theo Johnson, TE, Penn State

    Height: 6-6. Weight: 257.

    Projected 40 Time: 4.57

The kids a freak Athlete  he didn’t get much action but when he did he delivered . We’d be lucky to snag him in the 4th

     Will Shipley*, RB, Clemson

    Height: 5-10. Weight: 205.

    40 Time: 4.39.

Would be great change of pace guy . In a running back backend of the draft he might get lost in the shuffle if not someone else will be there .

    Troy_logo.gif.bmp

     Javon Solomon, DE, Troy

    Height: 6-1. Weight: 247.

    40 Time: 4.72.

He does one thing pass rush . Great on special teams and situational 3rd down working him in to a rotation

Nice mock. Most of the players you took, end up with the colts in my mocks, too.

    Really like it!

It smells like the Vikes draft a qb I think.

One domino to still fall is Fields. But if one of the teams ahead of the Vikes in the draft pull out a trade for him, one of the top 4 prospects could easily fall into their lap with trading up to maybe 5th to 7th pick. Shouldn't be too expensive.

    What are your thoughts?

  5. What the game taught me about team building: A well rounded Team can bring you that far. But to get to the promised land, your coach needs to accept lessons learned and stay calm.

I still can't figure why Shanahan didn't run the damn Ball 3 times before and after 2 min warning....a 6 yd run on 1st and 10. Nice! Then a rollout pass to a route on the line of scrimmage?! C'mon! And to make it worse, another pass play on 3rd and 4. All that while KC was blitzing the hell out of vegas all game....that was just poor game and clock management. Run the ball at least on 3rd and 4 after the 2 min warning. If you don't get the 1st....well, at least it leaves KC with only 1 timeout. It would have been a different drive for KC then....Still mad about those decisions.

So, Roster building is important. But it's only one half on your way to championship!

    My 2 cents.

  6. So it begins.....Shanahan chokes like always in SB and Mahomes is just Mahomes if you give him enough opportunities.

49ers don't get outplayed. Just dump and bad play calling.

Shanahan will be the Dan Marino of coaches.
