Stop being a buzzkill Dave! I do agree with you though. Hopefully the way he finished the season will be a springboard to a dominant 2020 season!

I am Scottish mate, it is just my nature! haha

  2. I hate to be a buzzkill, but Leonard was not snubbed for DPOY.

He said himself that he had a poor start to the season (by his, admittedly, high standards) and then he missed a few games.  He ended the year in DPOY form, no doubt about it, but he was not in the conversation for the award, based on the overall year, in my opinion.

Nick Bosa would have been my choice, but Gilmore is not a terrible choice.

how is Leonard 100th? He should be top 50

Leonard himself admitted he had a slow start to the year, even relatively poor by his admittedly high standards.

Just off the top of my head I am sure he was out with an injury and then came back and played like, well, a maniac from that point on.  Would be interesting to see his ranking from that point.

    11. G QUENTON NELSON, INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

The one offensive lineman who brings everybody together, Quenton Nelson is a force in all areas of the game and a real tone-setter for the Colts' offensive line, as intangible as that is. On a more tangible level, he didn't surrender a sack all season despite blocking for a quarterback who makes that tougher than others do, and he was the second-best run-blocking guard in the NFL, one of just two to surpass a PFF grade of 90.0 in that area. Overall, Nelson ran Brandon Brooks close for the best-grade among guards, ending the year at 91.2 overall from over 1,000 snaps of action.

The bolded part above stood out for me here...

Looks like Jags fans are livid with losing two home games,

To be fair, I can understand that.  To lose two games is a bit of a kick in the teeth for them and it certainly looks (from a neutral perspective) that this is the first steps in an attempt to move.

However, as I (and other UK fans have stated) I do not think this is the way to go.

I really really hope this does not happen because to loss a home game to for fill some wild idea to grow a fan base over seas in Europe. Its bad enough the Colts are not very good right now so let get embarrassed on over seas TV but on top of that my taxes help fund that dang stadium. If the Europeans wanna watch the NFL either stream, buy it or get a plane ticket. If they can come to Indy to see the 400 they can come to Indy to watch a football game.

Who said the Colts will lose a home game?  As the comment you quoted says, the Jags are playing two home games in London and of those 2 games we know it will be from one of 5 opponents, one of which is the Colts.

As of this year, there have 28 games played in London and every single one has been sold out.  How many NFL teams have sold out their last 28 games, bearing in mind Wembley stadium seats around 84,000?  To describe this as some kind of nuisance downplays the level interest and money generated by those teams who see it as an opportunity.

Plenty NFL fans in Europe, like myself, stream it, subscribe to Gamepass, buy a ton of merchandise and the appetite is here, so the league see the opportunity to grow the game via this.

I'm not trying to knock him meaning as a person (Human being) only as a football QB. You can think what you like regarding him being a back up QB in this league for a long time. Myself, i think its a waste of money and teams can do better. IMO, his flaws are sustainable and there's enough tape on him to make him useless even as a back up QB.

All for opinions, but this is incorrect.

The level of backup QB's in the league is pretty rotten (Bortles, Geno Smith, Glennon, Siemian all from 2019) and there is enough evidence to show that having a capable backup for 2/3 games can be invaluable for a team with playoff aspirations.

Brissett showed enough in the first half of the year to show he can play well, but the second half of the year showed he does not seem able to do it consistently at a starter level.  I agree we need to move on but to say he is "useless even as a backup QB" is just not true when you look at context of his peers.

Don't believe for a second JB can win you 9 or 10 games going forward. Maybe 4 if things are clicking. I mean, even a stopped clock is right twice a day! Look, JB doesn't have what it takes. He has to many flaws. Its been mentioned on this forum many times. The bottom line is, he needs to find some other employment. Something where he gets time to think things through and not have to make decisions under pressure. I'm trying not to knock him. A lot of people don't have certain traits to be good at their profession. Therefore, he needs to use his head and not his heart. The Colts need better!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not sure how hard you tried there my friend! haha

Jacoby Brissett will remain in this league for a long time as, although he has his flaws, a good backup quarterback is an extremely valuable asset.  Based on this season, I think it is fair to say he is not the future as our starter but he would easily be one of the best backups in the league on any team, and so he will make a small fortune off the abilities he has, which includes his stellar reputation in the locker room.

  8. I would say you could put the same tagline against all of them:

"Promising start, but jury is still out".

I think they all had flashes of what they could be, but didn't see it consistently from any of them.  As with all rookies, the 2nd year will be big for them, but especially Parris after a hellish year full of injuries.

Certainly no write-offs as of yet.

  9. While I can understand a Jags' fan based in Florida being frustrated by this news, the team obviously feels this is the way they need to go in order to build their fanbase to allow the team to grow.  This has proven successful up until now and so, although 2 games does seem a step away from their US fanbase, they are obviously looking to try and monopolise the European (especially UK) fans to create the growth.

Hopefully people on here can see the level of interest from Europe in the Colts and can appreciate how much a visit to London will mean to people like me.  It continues to amaze me how many European (and elsewhere) Colts fans there are out there.

From a logical point of view, I doubt there can be a UK based franchise based on implications for playoffs if they made it and the likely difficulty they would ave recruiting quality free agents and retaining their own players.

Anyway, until the announcement is officially made, I am going to try and contain my excitement as I have been hurt before! :please:

Thanks for sharing this. I'm going to try to watch it, as I am on leave from work while recovering from a broken ankle. I need something to do. haha

I believe he may have had CTE or other cognitive impairment; however, I don't believe CTE makes one a murderer. As we all know, he planned and plotted to kill others. I don't believe we can attribute that to CTE. But I will try to watch the movie with an open mind.

    Good luck in your recovery!

Absolutely agree it will not be the main reason for what he did, there has to be more to it than that, but I just feel there is enough science behind it to consider that it could be a factor amongst others.

I do not believe a "normal" person who ended up with CTE would become a murderer, but if there are already underlying Demons then how much could a heavily damaged brain impact on their state of mind?  An unanswerable question I suppose.

PS Don't F With Cats is another great Netflix documentary if you are looking for something to watch, lol.

  11. I am part way through the Documentary but I had already listened to the Wondery Podcast, which I thought did a great job of reviewing the case too:

    https://wondery.com/shows/gladiator/

Much like @New Zealands #1 Colts Fan it wasn't as big news in the UK as it was Stateside and so there was a lot I didn't know about it and so, coming in cold, it really was shocking in terms of the actions of someone who, from the outside, looked to have it all.

I don't think you can discount the CTE side of it, as there does seem to be a graduation from a happy high schooler who was popular, funny and well-liked to an aggressive paranoid murderer with little consideration for life.

However, we will obviously never really know the full story.

  12. Interesting numbers but looks to me like a situation of correlation not being the same as causation.

Having your main QB in the lineup for all 16 games will obviously always be preferable but will be a lot more besides that to result in making playoffs.

I know its stating the obvious but worth mentioning.

  13. The more I look into this the more it makes sense.  No matter where he would play, excluding FS, I think he would be the best player in that position.  I would have no issues giving up one of our extra 2nd rounders, and maybe someone who is lost in our depth chart if required, like Chester Rogers since they got rid of Stills (poor Chester).

With the trust I have in the coaches and the way Reich focuses on them being "teachers" I think we could make him an elite player and it would cost us $6m over 3 years!!!

A backfield of Moore, Desir, Wilson, Hooker, Minkah, Rock.......that is a quality backfield with more youth and athleticism than any other in the league that I can think of.

However, there have been so many players that I wanted CB to go after and he doesn't seem to rate my opinion that highly on these matters! Lol

Gee, his contract and the reported asking price is shown in ANY quick search.

We have plenty of amo to add to a 2nd rd pick to get him.
Depending on what position he wants to play also.

Someone is a bit salty today.  haha

I more meant how much he is likely to want when he reaches the end of his rookie contract but that is not a huge factor.  The asking price is also just "reported" and I don't think anyone "reported" Tunsil's eventual value.

    Have a nice day now.
