I'm curious if this is a legit report, or just an attempt to light a fire under his butt? Considering other reports state Hilton is about the only safe WR on the team at the moment.

    Moncrief can't stay healthy.

    Rogers is unproven.

    Aiken isn't impressing anyone.

Dorsett has shown flashes, but apparently has had a hammy issue.

I don't dislike a player that had no influence on his draft position, so a lot of the hate he gets is unwarranted. For whatever reason this team likes to use him incorrectly, and I guarantee if he went to a New Orleans or New England he would thrive.

Lets all just wait until he's either actually traded, or shows up and starts contributing more.

Agreed, I think given the chance he can silence his critics. Sadly we have not given a lot of opportunities and with Luck coming off injury and possibly ST starting games early , he may not have a lot of chances this season. Morris needs time with the first team for us to have a prayer stretching the field if #12 misses games. Luck likely will be rusty upon his return as well.

    I don't care about score.

I wasn't able to watch or listen to most of this last game for other reasons.  What I care about is individual performances.  How did each guy do, on his assignments against his opponent.  Who won more often then not, who lost more often than not.  Who has shown improvement in football IQ and technique, who still looks a little lost.  Who shows NFL talent, who looks destined for practice squad or bypassed for NFL duty.

The next game is the one I'm most interested in, and might just splurge on game pass to see it live here in FL. comes in handy to review games after they been played in season.

(I cut the cord, so no DirecTV or RedZone)

Game Pass is worth it, especially if you can't always watch live. *I buy both*

Mack looked special, against 2's and 3's. Morris continued being the colts best preseason qb, against 3's and cuts. Same with several others like Banner. For me, I want to see them rotate more guys in with the first team. We all know the third preseason game is the best barometer of early season struggles and strengths.

Totally agreed. I think that's an indictment on Chuck straight up.

I'm also rooting for Walker as he's a Colts, but he was at a small time school literally a couple of months ago. He should have been a practice squad project from the moment he got here.

Morris at least has been around for a while.

I think it's another example of the coach not knowing the roster our how to develop it correctly.

    :thanks:

Well Peyton had a clean pocket most of the time also he knew how to avoid the rush by climbing the pocket, not to mention his quick release so Peyton being pressured was rare for the most part.

I also believe a large factor overall is bad defenses knew not to blitz Peyton or he would make them pay. While Luck is constantly blitzed with a poor oline. Then factor in the 7 step drops and power run scheme. It makes sense to blitz the colts, knowing they may fail to properly adjust.

  5. I am by no means a Pagano fan, but I think he feels the fire under him. He looks more composed on the sideline, so far in the preseason lol. I want to see him coach up guys as they come off the field after mistakes, argue with refs on calls, manage the clock, and make quicker adjustments. There is only one Belichick. When we let grigson go , I wanted pags gone too. He is here and still learning, as colts fans, let's always hope for success. I think this team could play better than we expect (reworked line, draft picks, & brand new defense), even with Luck possibly missing time. Who cares though? I am an optimist...

Unless they think Shwenke will be ready soon, they need to quit screwing around and sign a real center before Andrew takes a snap.  I know this guy is a G.

They have plenty of cap space, and even if it takes a bundle to sign a Mangold, etc., it's worth it.

Depends on what a bundle is? 9m? No thank you. 2-3m 1 yr deal for 4-9 games, depth, maybe a starting guard role.... I would be good with that.

lol nahh we're good, we just don't know the first two people touching the ball will be. But who knows, maybe Gore will run for 2000 yards this year.

I remember those that were upset about selecting a center so high, saying they are the easiest to find later on. I am with krunk on this one. I obviously prefer Kelly to be out there, but I think Ballard will find a suitable replacement for the short term. Luck getting back affects our win loss record much more than losing Kelly. I just want our guys to heal quick and get on the field and represent the horseshoe. I may be alone on this but if this D and running game can step up in Luck or Kelly's absence, we can shock a lot of people late in the season. We do need to see our D win us games for once, hope it's this year!

I just like watching good football, between two competitive teams. That Cardinals Seahawks 6-6 game would be a lot more fun than a Browns Jets 6-6 game, you know?

Buuuuut if I had to pick one, it'd be offense. I prefer a good old fashioned shoot out where both QBs are trying to outduel one another.

To me, bad offense is more hard to watch than bad defense.

I agree, it's all about the match-up for me. I love watching top offenses go against top defenses. Shootouts are still entertaining even if it is the browns Vs jets, at least for me.

Have to say, surprised there wasn't more . I was expecting a lot longer list. Regardless, this is a very good thing. Now let's get everyone healthy!

Agreed. Although we have several guys knicked going in, maybe the physical practices may have already started to benefit.

The newer members are also a lot of newer fans in particular. If our top rookies or FA's struggle heavily, that's when I'll worry. I expect to lose 2 or 3 preseason games. I just want some promising results. I'm more worried about the regular season right now and just not getting any injuries. This game is just for depth chart and cut purposes and to see how the new players do.

I take offense. For one I have had several accounts on here over the years. Secondly, I have been die hard for over 20 years..... I am 28 BTW. When I lived in Indianapolis my dad and I went to every home game for 15 years. I posted on this forum in high school.

Irsay said today that he's throwing the football, but that he's not going full strength yet. So I'm inferring that Ballard wasn't talking about Luck's arm strength, not in terms of throwing the ball.

For sure, Andrew was able to throw the ball fairly deep last year. If he had more "arm" strength now than at any point last season he would be practicing 1st team.

That's not what Ballard said. He specifically said "strength levels," not arm strength levels. That's a hedge, and I'm not taking anything from it. That could mean that Luck has been able to lift without pain better than he was able to last year.

Exactly my thoughts as well. Still it is a good sign that he is actually recovering. I would feel better about early this season, if we soon hear he is actually throwing a football.
