I don’t doubt that 2-3 receivers might go high. I just don’t personally think it’s good value. Especially for us. Much rather see a DT or QB there. If not that gimme the best defensive player at any position except LB. Epenesa at Edge, Fulton at corner, etc

As much as I love Jeudy as a prospect, I'm doubting Ballard would take a WR that high as well. At the moment, I'm pounding the table for Kinlaw but him being available at #13 might be a stretch.

Thoughts on Cole McDonald from Hawaii? Is he even at the senior bowl, dude plays good football. NFL draft scout says he's eligible for the 2020 draft.

Kind of a wildcard right now. I could see a team taking him earlier than expected, but he could also go undrafted. His game reminds me of Kaepernick's. He'd likely need a few years to develop, but he does have some upside.

I respectfully disagree with you. I coach football. I work specifically with QBs and evaluate QBs.  In my opinion, Gordon is a better prospect than Love.  He has better mechanics, accuracy, and progresses through reads better.  Has nothing do with stats.  It is about studying passing situations, ball placement, and decision making.

I would argue the opposite.  There seems to be this big Jordan Love push on here because he statistically had a good season last year and people think he is physically similar to Patrick Mahomes.  Is that a good way to evaluate QBs?

I would not take a QB at 13 if Burrow and Tua are gone.  I don't think there is another QB worth that pick.  However, in the second tier, would take a flyer on Gordon over Love. I think Love will be a mediocre NFL QB. A more mobile Jameis Winston. Gordon might be another Aaron Rodgers.  Or he might be another mediocre backup.  That is the risk in picking QBs who are not #1 overall picks.  So I agree with you on that point that Colts fan have gotten spoiled.

When has a Mike Leach QB not put up eye popping stats in college? You're out of your mind if you think Gordon is a better prospect than Love. I don't care if you're a middle school QB coach or not. I've worked with QBs for almost twenty years now and anyone in their right mind can see that Love's ceiling is the Sears Tower compared to the quant two story home of Gordon's ceiling.

  4. I've been saying it for years, Hurts has a chance to be a really good NFL RB. Oklahoma's offense can make an average QB look great, but as a passer, Hurts looked average at best. I doubt many teams are really high on him as a QB prospect. I could see a team like the Ravens holding on to him as a QB because they wouldn't have to change their offense much if Lamar Jackson went down. But in the long run, Hurts is a RB if he really want's to stick on a NFL roster IMO.

Shenault is far from a polished wr. He excels after the catch, on reverses, and on screens right now, but his route running needs a lot of work as he struggles to break off his routes and separate.

I was just about to say the same thing. I like Shenault's upside but he's far from a finished product. Jeudy is about as polished as it gets in terms of WR prospects.

Well it has been publicly stated that Elway has been enamored with Herbert, well before this year. I don't think drafting Lock last year will stop Elway from pulling the trigger on Herbert if he's there. Denver is already pretty solid as a team, but would you put that team in the hands of Lock or Herbert, if given the opportunity?

A Von Miller quote came out today saying he thinks Lock is going to be special. Miller gets to see him in practice everyday but I guess we won't know until we see it ourselves.

Can you show me some highlights you are referring to, because the highlights I've seen of him the football doesn't look like it has a ton of zip on it.

Because honestly if you take out the arm strength issue, I'm all in on Fromm.  Athleticism is nice but a lot of guys have been great QB's without it.

I wouldn't say he has the strongest arm in the class, but I think it's more than adequate.

The concern with Fromm is that he always had great help around him and his upside is all between the ears.  In terms of arm strength and athleticism he's limited.

High floor I suppose but low ceiling.  Feels like his ceiling could be Tom Brady today in his 40's.

Have you ever seen Jake Fromm throw a football? Arm strength is not a concern for me at all. I could agree with the athleticism part but it's not like you have to be Lamar Jackson to play the position.

I think his ceiling is more like a Drew Brees in his prime rather than a 40 year old Tom Brady.

Thoughts? Should Ballard avoid going after him? I know its a long shot Ballard trades for him but, we don't know if Mack is going to stay healthy or not. The RB core is not a for sure thing going  into the season.

I'm leaning towards the "RB core is a sure thing". Maybe that short yardage back isn't quite nailed down yet but I think it unlikely the Colts will be bringing in a high profile guy at the position this season.
