  1. no, i just don't think it's an argument to have. any player could not be available, at any given spot. that's why they traded up for Anderson, after taking their QB, and then the following season beat us out for the division. It was Young, Stroud as one and two, they got two at the time, and guess what, they hit. they also traded up for their DE and guess what. they hit. so like I said, if they got lucky, then ballard got lucky with his hits. it's not even a worthwhile point to engage
  2. i want him to keep doing exactly what he is doing so I can keep complaining about it. which in my mind, means we probably fill a gap rd 1 instead of taking bpa, like we normally do, that probably extends to rd 2 then we sign another budget or two, sign an udfa, and we go about .500 again. gus gets fired, and Ballard gets another year or two. that's likely what's gonna happen, and I'm gonna complain on here every day about it.
  3. doesnt matter which source you read, they all read the same. ballard living on his legacy draft from 2018, he got extra time because of luck... but now he needs to do something and isn't. it all reads the same. its becoming the majority opinion, despite it not being on this board.
  4. luck? absolutely not. stroud was a top prospect, and got taken with a top pick, then immediately after they get their franchise QB they trade up before us.. to take their franchise edge.. ballard would never. that's the difference,. if you wanna call it luck, then ballard got lucky with Nelson and Leonard.
  5. at this point it seems very unlikely we resign blackmon
  6. fans? we don't know anything. trust and be patient in the savior ballard everyone get on your knees, and praise BBB
  7. ballard is mediocre at best, regardless of who he signs
  8. i don't entirely disagree but luck is only part of it. they got their franchise QB, and then traded up for their Franchise edge, two of the most important positions in football..
  9. i see your point but i don't think it covers the whole situation. all is better when you win, all is better when you hit on your top 2 picks. taking stroud and Anderson, whilst simultaneously winning the division in his yr one matters. also I believe that ranking was slightly outdated.
  10. Not as a slated starter he hasn't proved he can be healthy
  11. I understand what Chloe is saying. She's saying she thinks Ballard should've filled the secondary needs with this wide FA class to make it an easier decision to nab an offensive weapon for AR at 15
  12. I believe Ballard used that to his advantage. Just like he did with waiting all those years to draft a QB. Just like he did with letting Reich make roster decisions at QB and just like he's gonna do when he scapegoats gus for this upcoming mediocre season when hes fired. Then the convos will be about Shane not having his DC. The pattern is so obvious it's blatant at this point.
  13. I agree with that I do see a world where if AR plays a majority of games, and can carry us slightly, Ballard would be safe off of that alone. But if we get similar results as last year, and AR misses significant time, or we can't win because of our secondary, I see him getting fired. Ballards draft is always my favorite part of the off-season, and I almost always feel better about the team after the draft, but for the last 5 years or so it's only gotten us to .500 so it's growing a bit old.
  14. Idk I think the roster he built from 2018 that peaked could've completed with any roster. At that point and even a couple years following I heavily supported Ballard but I too believe he should've been fired with Reich and co
  15. Quality response and I agree with everything you said. It's crazy to think that AR couldn't finish a single game last year. So if he ends up injured and flacco gets us another 9-8 type season he definitely should be fired imo
  16. I don't mind flacco. I just think it will be absolutely hilarious if we end up with another old bridge QB taking significant snaps under Ballard. It would basically be his trademark of colts gm reign
  17. https://www.stampedeblue.com/2024/3/19/24106304/can-the-colts-possibly-have-success-with-chris-ballards-conservative-approach Article from yesterday discussing the same topic Here's an excerpt from the article " During his tenure there have been two playoff appearances with zero division titles. He normally gets a pass for two things: Andrew Luck retiring and his drafting ability. The statute for Luck retiring has expired, and his ability to draft has been good but not incredible"
  18. NFL.com ranks Ballard as the 18th best gm. What do you think of that, and do you think he should be fired
  19. Yeah that's what I mean. Traded. Not resigned. Either one. He was due for a contract that year if I'm not mistaken, or was coming up on it.
  20. There's nothing extreme about stating facts. There's nothing extreme about the fact Ballard does the same thing and has only had the same result. Nothing extreme about posting a list of the division winners of his entire tenure and our team not being a winner. The fact of the matter is this forum is incredibly sensitive to any anti Ballard banter
  21. so now its inappropriate to debate about ballard in the ballard thread. don't read it if you don't want to.
  22. probably just a bit irritated due to the censorship regarding ballard comments, I apologize if it came off that way
