Not at all.  He's going to need time, unfortunately.  He definitely did not have a good game Sunday, but he hasn't been all bad.

haven't talked to u in a while. I don't see how u can defend green as a safety. he has good speed ,but he gets broke in half if he get hits by a T.E.

I think this thread should be closed.

    I find it beyond insulting.

This question is asked after one game.      One.

Of all the threads that get locked up here,   here's one that should be easy.

Respectfully,  I submit it should be Locked.

I was just generalizing "win a game". Colts will win some games this year. After one game I see a lot of the same thing as last year. Cant stop the run. Cant run the ball cause they are 20 pts. behind. Weak overall on Defense. Truth hurts, but accurate.

  3. One game and people are talking coaching change. I think all the coaching changes in the off season haven't had a chance to play out yet. Everything's completely different. I was begging for some o-line help and we got it. Hopefully it pays off. Defense was going to be tough to start with. All of the injuries have me really hard to judge it. you can't play with no secondary.

  4. Most Likely doesnt say alot to me. In reality, anyone can win. Injuries always seem to derail someones season. I think Tennessee is going to be stronger. they looked pretty focused on offensive improvement. Jacksonville was alot of D. and Houston has very solid to D. start with, just need help on O. Hopefully Colts can stay healthy for a change, I think they will hold their own. 1. Colts 2. Houston 3. Jacksonville 4. Tennessee

Not trying to jump the gun or anything, but is there a possibility of Kelly starting at guard, and Blythe starting at centre?

I couldnt see that happening. Kelly supposed to be the best center in the draft. hate to see our 1st rounder moved to another position.

  6. Im sure hes teachable. I really think mental "pressure" is getting to him. First all the comparisons to manning coming into the NFL, then all the success he had scrambling for first downs to move the ball.  Defenses adjusted, and the colts never really got a reliable run game established. In short i believe he puts excessive pressure on himself.

He was projected in the 7th round till his combine work. Then he went up on all the teams boards. Not me, you are anyone else knows how any of these players will work out in the end. There are first round picks who will bust of not be as good as advertised just like a 7th rounder or walk on may light it up. It happens every season. IMO it makes no difference as to what round a player is taken if he works hard and makes himself a player that can contribute. Sometimes that 53rd player on a roster can make a play that makes a difference. Players on special teams often get over looked but can make a tackle or force a fumble that can help win a game. I make this comment not as an argumentative statement but just as an observation.

    This is true.

I love the pick.  Out of the box style from innovators type of stuff.  Tall athletic and fast Tight Ends in a passing league have become the 'mismatch' nightmare.  The Gronk's of the world, and others of his ilk.  We have an aging Mike Adams to cover safety this year along side youngster Clayton Geathers.  So how to best prepare for Adams departure?  Draft a lengthy, tall exceptionally fast  and strong ex wide receiver... and take a defensive back guru to train him into the new type Safety.  TJ is 6 feet 2 inches tall, 210 pounds, and runs a 4.34 in the 40 yard dash.  He has ability to cover in the slot too.  He will be able to be versatile in play options.  He has speed to cover sideline to sideline at safety, length to cover athletic tight ends, and enough cover ability to play a slot receiver.  He can come up and stuff the run. The guy's ceiling is in the stratosphere.  But it will be up to Pagano and the defensive coaches to train and program him to execute.  Chuck and TJ really hit it off at Greens Pro day, so I'm sure TJ will buy in 'fully' to Pagano's teaching and direction.

Very few draft picks are finished products (Joey Bosa aside) and need development, but some are suited for a different position and need even further grooming.  Thankfully Clemson saw that and began the Safety project early, at least as far as the Colts are concerned.  And the kid still had 130 tackles (102 solo) with 3 other Clemson Tigers tream mates coming off the draft board in first 2 rounds. So I anticipate watching this kid mature into what could be a major impact player nullifying the huge mismatch opportunities the new NFL tight end (stolen away from basketball) has recently created.

Not every pick is about what will it do for me this year.  Not only are they preparing for M. Adams void, but with a huge vision and strategy as well.    And truthfully, I think it was only a matter of a few more picks before some other GM/team got the same idea and would strip him off the board.  I hope to see him in getting some reps more and more as he learns and the season progresses.

Hopefully he turns out better than what I see around. Some people thought he was projected 7th round or undrafted. I just don't see 2nd round value.

Geathers played snaps at safety last year so why wouldnt Green get snaps at safety?

He probably will. I'm just not sure why we drafted him. other potential wasted.

How many times do people have to get told that Green will mostly be playing Dime and Nickel linebacker this year?  If Geathers can do that role I'm quite sure Green can as well.  Between that and special teams Green will get plenty of playing time this year.  He'll do everything and probably a little more than what Geathers did last year which wasn't real complicated.  I'm confident he'll be fine in that role.

I could see if they were throwing him to the wolves as the starting Safety next to Geathers and saying "Good Luck Buddy!"  They are giving him a role he can perform well with to get experience while learning behind Adams and Geathers until next season. Plus he'll get plenty of work on special teams as well.  However I do think an injury here or there is likely to happen this year so he may get thrown in the fire quicker than planned.

I don't know about time at safety. Special teams I can see. He needs "plenty of work"
