Wow, I remember my one and only game (2005) at the RCA Dome and it was, and remains, the loudest stadium I ever heard.  Have been to KC twice in the last two years ... it was loud, but not as loud as my game experience at the RCA Dome. (Open air stadium, tough to be as loud as a dome.)

Only been to 1 game at Lucas Oil.  Vs Denver when the Colts upset the Broncos, but Luck got injured. It was loud then, but not close to my RCA Dome experience.

Been to a lot of different venues around the league.  The one common thread?  The loudest stadiums were the ones where the teams are consistently doing very well.  Fair weather fans are all over the place.

I probably saw 18+ games in the RCA Dome, and more times than not, left w/varying degrees of a headache because of the decibels. This coupled w/my own shouting of course! That joint would just bring the rafters down, and am proud to be a part of those great memories, wins and losses. :)

The coaching staff has been switching Banogu with a lot of positions. He may have found his permanent-ish position now as our DE for passing downs, which was the role of Turay before he got hurt. Should we keep him there and utilize him more now that we've found a good spot for him?

It’s refreshing to know, once again CB has provided quality picks for Coach Reich to make the most of injuries like Turay’s. It’s the “Youth” movement of the team that has me the most excited personally. Back to the topic, yes Banogu definitely has earned another look.

This is why I'm not worried about him.....sure he got beat a couple times but they required perfect passes to do so. There's no defense from r the perfect pass.

Agree. And he has a short memory when it comes to missed opportunities imo.

He's that prototypical set the edge kind of guy, and for the past couple weeks especially, has gotten to the QB really well.

This^ That’s what’s been impressing me the most out of Sheard. He’s really good at setting the edge, but has a knack for getting pressure/hits on the QB. He and Houston are pretty darn formidable imo.

  5. Much deserved indeed! JB is looking legit so far w/occasional hiccups, but really seems to have taken up the true mantle of a leader. Very appreciative to all of the coaches and front office for seeing so much promise in JB when they brought him into the fold. We’re a spoiled fan-base when it comes to QB’s! :)

Oh no you didn't, lol! Had some run ins with the Mad Dog back in the day, along with Night Train, Thunderbird,  and Old English, those were the days, hahaha! I didn’t really seek out the MD, it just always seemed to find me, lol!

Don’t forget my drink of choice as a youth........Brass Monkey! Had some long mornings following those nights for sure. :) Sorry to mods for not being Colts related*

He did but the AFC is better. Pats or Chiefs win the SB no matter who they play. Chiefs would of beat the Rams. What I hate is when people point out when Peyton won his SB that he beat Rex Grossman and the Bears. If people would care to look we also beat a tough AFC in the Ravens and beat Tom Brady and the Pats. It's the whole pic, not just one game.

Not to mention, the Bears defense was rolling teams all season! They dominated nearly every team they played, and yet that is usually never talked about. Reality hurts the narrative I guess.

A belated welcome to the website.  Glad to have aboard.    Sorry this is our first exchange.

Your post is your opinion.  And there may be some truth there.   But it is not fact.

Ballard has said repeatedly since he arrived that teams who spend the most rarely do well.   That teams who win free agency, the off-season spending spree,  rarely do well.

So don't mistake our our lack of spending for a lack of commitment to do what we want.   Ballard isn’t going to leave because someone offers him more $$$.   He already had the quality he values most...   the support of an owner who is letting Ballard build slowly and methodically in the vision that he wants.

Put another way, do you think there are a lot of owners who are willing to let their GM build this slowly?  Most owners are the opposite.   They want to win NOW!  This year, if not sooner!  Ballard is in the perfect spot for him.  I wouldn’t lose a minutes sleep that he’d leave the Colts to go elsewhere.   Not happening.

Just a different perspective to consider...

    Classy post NCF!

  9. The offensive line on a whole are impressing me. With the resurgence of AC last season, the cohesion shown by the starters was simply put, impressive. Throw in quality backups, and Mudd being back home makes me have high hopes for this unit. Future definitely looks bright. :)

Throw on a big slice of Velveta!  When I was in the Air Force, stationed on Guam, we ate quite a bit of spam.  And you were limited to how much you could buy at the Commissary (grocery store for you civilians!)

Oh - and Ballard seems to be doing a good job.

Thank you for your service. I use cubed light spam/red potatoes/sautéed onion in an awesome hash I make sometimes.

It was, it was alot better than it is now. That place was so loud I seen some wearing ear plugs at a couple of games. I went to the Dallas game in 1999 and it was a mad house when Marv burned Deion.

Smart fans wore headphone radios, so they heard play by play from Lamey while they watched the game, while leaving with no headache.

Yeah I went to a lot of games too back then. We had an awesome HFA back then, that place was loud as heck lmao . Our record at home between 2004-2006 was an incredible 25-3 including the Playoffs.

A beautiful thing. I may be getting all nostalgic. :) Our HFA was 2nd to none.

I wish Edge would've been on our Title team in 2006, if he had he would make the HOFame easily.

    Agree 100%

No they do not. Dude was an animal. I wish he never got hurt. He was good after but man he was another level prior.

Hes also a Cane great baby!!!

WPortis and McGahee Jeremy Shockey  Andre Johnson and a very stout D. Greatest team for the U imho. Didn’t Frank Gore go in the draft the year or so before their run?

As our old PA Announcer used to say in the RCA Dome where it echoed, "Edegerrin James on the Carry, Edge for 5".

Left w/many a headache after watching a game in the Dome. Mostly from yelling, just like everyone else in that joint. That place could get a ROCKIN’! Had the pleasure of seeing quite a few games there back in the day. Got to see players like Marino/Kelly/Favre  engineer comeback wins on us also. Hated to lose, but loved watching great football.

What an amazing video...  My Goodness. Young Edge (pre knee injury) looked like the 2nd coming of Jim Brown.

Funny you say this(I totally agree btw), because he ended up taking JB’s spot all-time for scrimmage yards per game stat. Which imho should be just one of many reasons to get his awesome self into the Hall! #32 was very hard to stop, plus his receivers hands, coupled w/his ability to stone defenders in the passing game. He was deceptively fast when he hit the hole, and regularly pulled away at the 2nd lvl. Sorry for tha man crush rant.

I don’t think we will see a all around RB like that for awhile. I don’t watch other teams enough to know if there are any RB like that today. I think the game has changed so much. But man how did we not win a SB with him, Harrison, wayne. That offense was unstoppable. Watching those highlights brings back some memories. It would be nice to have a back that could play receiver like that also.

Imagine EJ behind our current line. :)

Edge is a potential HOFer (he's a finalist again this year, and I hope he gets in), so no, our current backs probably can't do what he was doing. Edge was special, #4 pick in the draft, explosive, powerful, great vision, elusiveness, great balance, etc. Even after his injury, he was better than every back we've had since.

QFT Wish I could like this 100 more times!

Watching EJ rookie highlights. It’s been so long ago you forget how good he was. Especially as a receiver. I think maybe when people are thinking of LB maybe this is what they think our backs can’t do. But I guess this is why EJ will be in the Hall. It’s sad we couldn’t get him a ring.

By far my favorite “modern era” Colts player! Got to meet him a handful of times. Humble dude for certain. Gotta get him in the Hall!

I've used this gif countless times I'm aware, but none more fitting than today.

Love this team. Ballard, Reich, coaching staff, the players, Irsay. All of it. Integrity is what it's all about.

Keep your hair Jeremiah Johnson! One of my favorite movies of Redford. That and Brubaker. Keep the meme alive! :)
