A song that I have always loved....just wanted to share with my Brother...

Checkout Amanda Brown laying down a Chris Cornell classic @RustonRifle#7:
This cover gives me goosebumps man. The brass section, the beautiful tribute to the legend, & women getting their grove on always makes me smile.
Plus, I was in both band & chorus in school so, I know how hard it is to pull this track off & sound polished. Amazing!
-
I wasn't sure where to put this so, I decided to drop it here. Some rockin' with Dokken classic "Unchain the Night" high caliber cover material...
For @TheRustonRifle#7, @Lollygagger8, @malakai432 or anyone else who grew up on this band. The guitarist Rocco Pezzin replicates George Lynch's tones to perfection IMHO. Superb job!

I agree with y'all.
Jimi was the innovator, and SRV was influenced heavily by him. Not sure the student can be better than the master, but he's damn close!
I think Jimi was waaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of his time. He was the reason I started playing, so I have to tip my hat to him. The sheer power/volume, effects, the way he played, was all a first of it's kind. He's getting those high notes on a right handed guitar upside down which is absolutely astonishing. Plus to do what he did while being on the drugs he was on while playing is a feat in itself! lol
That said, SRV was a much cleaner player, and I feel more blues based. His tone was perfectly honed and people strive for it to this day. I think he took the blues/rock/Jimi thing to the next level as far as sound/ability/tone. He was next level as a player, and a great showman in his own right.

I agree with crazycolt.....so many excellent guitar players out there. All different styles.
Jimi, SRV, Eric Clapton, Eric Johnson, Joe Stariani, Steve Vai, Dimebag Darrell (Pantera) ....I could be here all day!
I've seen Bonamassa live, and he's absolutely amazing. I taped this front row of his concert here in Fort Wayne....he was somehow better live than on studio recordings!
Dude did all that on an acoustic! lol
I've been getting into Doyle Bramhall II lately. He's written alot for Eric Clapton. He's not amazing guitar player, but he's good and a heckuva a song writer.
He's got a new album coming out, and Clapton is on this song:
Here's some of his older stuff (Jimi inspired!) :
This is one of my favorite's of his:

@lollygagger8 @BR-549 as well...I just can't get this song out of my head...how did I not appreciate it more back in the day????????
The intro just kicks butt...………..and then gets better!

SRV is bleeping superb no matter what the man does. Why must legends die early well before the world is willing to let them go? It always bothers me. At any rate, tremendous selection RR7!
Appreciate the insights from CC1 & Lolly8 as always too.
Thanks Lolly8 for the Bonamassa live clip BTW. Jesus! He's magical when he teams up with Beth Hart on stage as well. That's a long time to hold your cell phone up. Thanks for the sacrifice so the rest of us can marvel at his musicianship.

most memorable moment in concert history for me & yes it wasnt the greatful dead who saw good 400 times and yet this was more memorable moment
1970 Stonybrook University GYM- sat right side of stage somewhat in front 0f it ) no behind seats there
10=15 feet behind me was monstrous speaker
who doing Tommy - suddenly Pete Townshend jumps up and strums guitar as screeching high pitched voice yells what seemed to be right into my ears HY MY NAME IS UNCLE ERNIE - they are still ringing

I wasn't sure where to put this. Yes, I know it's not Steve Vai related. However, despite that fact, I wanted you to see a well done instrumental treatment of "I Was Made For Lovin' You" by some talented Russian musicians. Women can most certainly bring the house down.
The face paint was pretty cool. I especially liked Ace Frehley's makeup job. And of course, drummer Peter Criss as the cat. This time on keyboard in this version. Paul Stanley's star was a nice touch too.
Folks from Mother Russia specialize in caviar, vodka, & timeless Rock N Roll baby. Oh Yeah. The production value is stellar & off the chain IMHO.

Nice selections as always RR7. Appreciate the Blackie Lawless stuff as well as Rainbow, Whitesnake, Autograph, & several other bands you posted brother.
People unfamiliar with WASP always get the wrong impression. You know that Blackie had an addiction problem when it came to the opposite sex. That Apache frontman is very sharp. Part of it, was just designed to tick off the PMRC [Parents Music Resource Center]; Part of it was just to go against the grain to manufacture controversy to sell millions of records; & part of it was just the rock n roll lifestyle back in the day. Blackie is a very deep thinker who articulates his point of view exceptually well in 1 on 1 interviews overall.

Regarding my cover of "I Don't Care Anymore" by HY I posted yesterday, I forgot to mention this: My condolences to the family of Vinnie Paul, former drummer of Pantera, who passed away on June 22nd.
I always get depressed when musicians die because they represent the closest thing to pure creativity we have left in this world. Some comedians like George Carlin & Robin Williams float among this unique realm too.
When you see quality musicians bond with a crowd & occupy a brief live space where nothing else matters for a 2 hour set, it's pretty amazing.

I like this dude as an actor and thought I may share some perspective?
https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Hardy
Check him out in "Lawless" and "The Drop" and see the range.....
-
He is a darn fine actor no question. I saw him most recently in "Dunkirk" as a British Royal Air Force pilot
Yeah, I also reviewed him in the movies "Lawless" & "Locke." Tom is definitely talented. He knows how to convey genuine emotions without saying a word. Rage, apprehension, dismay, & you stepped on my last nerve & must pay the piper now. LOL!
Locke is fascinating because it takes place entirely in a car stuck on the freeway in traffic as he tries to get to the hospital before his mistress gives birth. Oh by the way, he's married to someone else with kids. Details; details. Complicated is an understatement.
Tom is good at subdued performances which look minimalist on the surface, but run very deep when you watch say "Lawless" twice & see how much he cares for the prohibition prostitute in the picture. He truly loves her.
Thanks for the Range recommendation brother.

In the late 70's and very early 80's, "New Wave" and "Punk Rock" threw a monkey wrench in to conventional music...thankfully...

I remember when Dave Mustaine released this album & I knew Metallica made a huge mistake firing him. Every track on here is groundbreaking in the metal arena. Nobody was putting together such complicated arrangements on guitar. Not even close.
Plus, Nick Menza RIP made sounds come out of his drums that truly blew the doors off your house & shattered your windows too. LOL! Hard to believe such a scrawny guy could bring the thunder & lightning behind his kit but he could. Amazing man. Jesus. See...
I always feel compelled to defend Megadeth because they always get dismissed over Metallica & Dave is a genius in the metal realm. He truly is. Right up there with Ronnie James Dio. No, I'm not kidding.

You know how sometimes black women have a weave & older men sometimes buy rugs or toupees to mask or cover a bald spot on their head?
Is this guitarist named Chris Blade Johnson wearing a mop from the Home Shopping Network on his head as he jams out to "Prisoner" by Dokken? Reminds me of Wayne's World with Dana Carvey & Mike Myers actually...
Or maybe his household cat naps up there while he plays I don't know.
Mullet mania man...Those were the days.
-
Since we already arrived in mullet heaven, cheesy glam rock with it's good old fashioned, sexist overtones & spandex workout gear seems like the next logical plateau right?
Lame, trashy, & catchy all rolled into one. I miss the 80's man. LOL! This was actually released in 2017 but sounds comically vintage though from the 1980's.
These boys from Sweden always crack me up! Almost like Spinal Tap tried to make a Top 10 train wreck single on purpose. I do like the tractor trailer mustache on the lead goof ball though. Figures, the lady has to play for the wrong team. Just joking!
I like stuff so bad it grows on ya after awhile like a fuzzy fungus which eventually becomes decent & dare I say enduring after awhile.

Just felt like listening to AC/DC...Bon Scott of course...

Ruston Rifle, I loved old AC\DC but with the passing of Malcom and the current problem with the Singer situation I have my doubts about their future . But I love their music. I play the Guitar and I love playing their basic hard driving rock. It's easy for my level of expertise to play most of it. I also love Eddie Van Halen , But thus cannot play like him LOL.

Enjoy Bro...............

Hey there BR-549,
Good to see you posting once again. Glad to have you back.
I came across a singer named Johnny Doe today performing a song called "Devil Train." I honestly thought this was "The Man In Black." It's crazy good. Wow!
I was blown away. It sounds like vintage stuff straight out of the 1950's & Sun Records. Amazing!

Good background tour stuff on Queensryche & Robert T. there Lolly. Still got those pants? Just messing with ya. 1 of the best names for a band ever. Queensryche just sounds cool as s***. I had an opportunity to see them in high school, but something came up. Darn it.
Robert can play bass with the best of em.

I miss our talks, hope you are well. I thought I would share some Alternative with you...hope you don't mind?

Nice fireworks display on Cochise too. Love how he can stretch out his howl screams too. Nice gritty track there.
The guy just knows how to capture a room, a stadium, or whatever venue he strolls into.
Taylor Swift & Brittney Spears are still around & Cornell & Petty are gone. That's seriously messed up.

I only know this Linken Park/Jay Z duo song "Numb" via the Micheal Mann's film "Miami Vice."
I apologize in advance for any inappropriate language used moderators.
Micheal Mann is the man man. His soundtracks are always off the chain great because he understands how to create mystery, intrigue, & ambiance baby.
