Deal is done. He's a Colt

If he is good enough to start, losing a comp pick would be worth it. Very doubtful you will get a starter with a comp pick.
Hmm if Fleener was projected to pull a 3rd or 4th I feel like there is some good value in those rounds. Especially considering that's where Grigson's gems have been at
-
So the question remains, what would bring him here salary wise. Would we lose out on a comp. pick

Although I'm not a big advocate of Spence I wouldn't mind taking him, IF all checks out well. I like his game speed but I'm hesitant because i want our players to pass the shorts and eye test (Combine) and check off all boxes.
I like Leonard Floyd and what he has on tape. I feel like if you get him in an NFL training facility he'll be good. It was said that he was asked about being an ILB in a 3-4 and I almost feel like that would be a good spot for him, to start his career at least.
I'm still either Alexander or Billings depending on the day, then Floyd and a conglomerate of players and trade scenarios from there on but Floyd is rising from my view over here

I thought it was 15-20 because the whole main goal is to not have anyone in the green room at the end of the day

Joseph is going to be a monster kind of reminds me of Sanders a bit. I have him in my top 20 of the draft hopefully we snag him in the second round. Wright could be a nice mid round pick if he clears medically and improve in burst. Alexander im not sold on as he the production isn't there compared to others. He didn't get burned on deep routes but gave up too many under routes.
Joseph reminds me of a Sean Taylor actually, somebody that is just ruthless when it comes to hitting. But he's rangy and can play center field in a cover 1.
Alexander when I watched him, I came away with a guy who is sticky in coverage, and would be a good compliment to Davis. I heard some nasty statistic that late in the season he only had about 7% of passes thrown his way. Eli Apple, well I don't watch Ohio State but my friend is a huge fan and said that Apple has bust written all over him so I just take that fwiw. I would put William Jackson as my top CB(that's realistic for is to get) if he hadn't played at Houston.
Regardless of the route we go, I really like the defensive prospects in this draft compared to other drafts and I'm mainly an offensive/WR type of guy.

Mackensie Alexander
Scooby Wright
Karl Joseph
I really want Karl Joseph but I doubt we spend a high pick on a safety

Oh my God let's please not start this I can't take another year of Greg Toler
I'd rather roll with a group of rookies on the outside than live thru another season of Toler

I know there are other factors to take into consideration here, but let's just remember one thing. After we signed Andre, Gore, Langford and Cole, we were Super Bowl bound right? The pundits were hyping us up, this board was jacked with the signings.... The players still have to perform and they still have to play the games. Plus as long as Luck is healthy, I'll give us a fighting chance in any game
-
I'm on his hype train, I like Mr. Wright. I'd be willing to spend our 3rd on him.
-
Gotta wonder why Hayward is still on the market. Green Bay keeps there home grown talent
-
I'm buying his jersey while they're cheap
-
yeah Jackson is going in the tail end of the first or early 2nd
-
No don't cut D'qwell because Freeman is reportedly far apart on contract talks with Indy and we seem to be out of the running on him now. We already have little depth in our LBs core.
-
this is a bold strategy Cotton. He has no prior guard experience
-
We just need guys to play to their potential, and overachieve.
Like every other team doesn't have that thought as well lol
-
-
One thing is for sure, this will be a fun team to rebuild/retool in the next Madden

At this point there's no reason to believe he's going to be a $100 Mill player. For all of Anderson's great run defense he also got...... 1 sack.
Malik Jackson just signed the biggest FA contract and he got $90 mill. But he sacks the QB. Anderson doesn't..... yet.
I'm not saying he won't be expensive...... just not THAT expensive....
I understand and I took that into account when I made the comment. I liked what Anderson did on the field this year, stuff that wouldn't show up in the stat sheet, but I'm referring to the posters who think we have a J.J. Watt on our hands.
I'm not trying to start a debate or argument, I'm just talking out loud here since we're going to be quiet this FA.

Yes lets put back some $$$ so we can sign Anderson in 2019! chuckle
Why not. If he's as good as he is viewed at on this board then he'll be a $100 million man and we won't be able to keep him.
But then at that point, it'd be stupid to have 2 players making over $20 million a year
-
Is it possible we're just trying to not spend any cap this year, roll it all over to next
Because lord knows we are going to be frugal spenders now with Luck and Anderson's big contract coming up in a few years ;)
