Isn't he a little small to play DE in 4-3? I know Freeney and Mathis did it but they were bonafide stars. He doesn't seem to fit at LB or DE in our scheme imo

He's one inch shorter than Turay and roughly the same weight. He'll be fine. He won't play linebacker. He was a pass rusher at TCU.

No, I love the player.   But since Ballard has repeatedly said Corner is not a premium position in his defense, then why spend your first pick of the draft on a non-premium position?

The actions don’t match the words.

Chris also said this offseason that he wants to play more man to man coverage this year. In that case, corner becomes more important.

I wonder if they have even considered Butler or Greedy?

They have met with the others

    This will be interesting day

    4 picks.

They didn't meet with Nelson last year. Anything is possible. I really think Banogu is a guy they might target. I heard the have a 2nd round grade on him.

FWIW with Sweat, I was listening to a podcast with Tony Pauline and he said (take this with a grain of salt) that we (he named the Colts specifically) believe that Sweat will still be on the board by pick 34. If this is true (and the Colts doctors have said he's okay) he would be steal at 34 IMO (I'd think he'd be a good pick even at 26 and then maybe have someone like Abrams or Savage or Rapp at 34.)

If Sweat is on the board at 26 and the Colts pass, I will be the one with the heart condition.

These types of guys have to learn that there are consequences for those actions.  He should spend the rest of his career showing that it was something he deeply regrets and displaying it to others through charity programs.

I'm not an advocate of trading for him but according to the Seattle media, what you mentioned above is exactly what he has done his whole pro career. Ed Dodds would know better than anyone I suppose.

  6. Nope. Not really an ideal 4-3 DE anyways, best in a 3-4. Was fat and out of shape at both the combine and his pro-day. Tested in the 0.9th percentile for edge rushers, not good. On top of that character concerns and reportedly has had horrible interviews with teams. Should be off the Colts board entirely IMO.

17.5 sacks.  All the measurables.   Looks good for that spot in the draft to me.

His athletic testing was horrible. His 3-cone time would have been bad for a 4-cone drill. Also showed up for his pro day out of shape which is unacceptable considering he wasn't allowed at the combine. Looking athis tape I see a pure bull rusher, a guy too stiff to bend the edge in the NFL. He shouldn't be considered a 1st round pick IMO. I'd take a flyer maybe in the 3rd round.
