  1. He better be quiet because Goodell might jump in and have doctors reevaluate him after that comment. (sarcasm)
  2. It will be interesting to see what Minshew wants to do. Will he be content with being a great backup on a good team that just fills in for 2 or 3 games to save face if the starter gets injured, or will he want to move on and try to start somewhere full-time? Then how much money will he think he is worth? Sam hasn't had much of a sample size but from what I have seen of him when he did play, he looked bad to me. I am talking 3rd string material. I don't see Sam as a legit backup that can win us any games in a pinch. He belongs on a roster but as a 3rd string guy. He is our backup now because AR is out. My final observation: I would re-sign him to a 1-year deal until we see AR play a full season. I am thinking among the lines of 7 Million for 1 year. That would double what he is making now. He has deserved that for the way he has played/held the fort down, 7 mill would not break the bank.
  3. That point spread still has me puzzled as well. I pointed to, just more people are putting money on Atlanta - that is how it works usually, but I have been hearing different things on that. There are several betting web sites where a lot of people are putting their money on Indy actually. We have the better team, better QB, better Coach, Taylor and Pittman are both playing, and we have won 5 out of 6 games. Just as a non-biased observer because I get nothing out of Indy being favored, I would think Indy would be favored by at least 3. The home team always gets 3. I think we win by at least a FG. They must know something I don't know, because I do find the Falcons being favored by 2.5 strange.
  4. Next thing you know, you will get an update that says CJ Stroud is playing, that he has miraculously healed over the past hour.
  5. It could come down to us and Houston. I am leaning toward that way especially if we win Sunday and the Jags lose.
  6. That is why eye test, is better than any metric system. If I sit 20 diehard football fans in a room, at worse 18 of them (90%) would say Nelson is better than Smith + Smith has been injured most of the season. Nelson set the bar for himself so high, when he plays good and not great, he looks bad to some people . Nelson has quietly had a good year, just not his 1st team All-Pro type of season.
  7. Our defense is good but not great. We give up too many long plays. Assuming we make the playoffs, our Achilles Heel will be our Secondary. Minshew could win a SB if he had a defense like the 2000 Ravens because Dilfer did. He would even have a chance with the 2002 Bucs - Brad Johnson was average.
  8. Yep. As well as Minshew has played, I don't give us much of a chance of making the SB or winning it all. Minshew is good enough to get us to the playoffs (make things exciting) but normally to win it all, you need a franchise QB. = Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Hurts, Jackson, and you almost have to say Purdy is one at this point. Purdy still has a small size to judge on, but he looks like a franchise QB to me the way he has played this season.
  9. Yep. The line will probably stay at around 2 is my guess with it going into Friday.
  10. Rams have this in the bag now. They will be the 6th seed in the NFC with a win tonight.
  11. That is a frustrating season losing that many games like that. They could easily be something like 8-6 like us. In 2022, we lost 3 games by 1 point, that has to be some sort of record.
  12. I am pretty sure he was kidding. Like I just did, that is why it is always good to let posters know if you are joking/being sarcastic or not.
  13. I do to sometimes. I almost took Pitt as well. I may switch it. Our picking is for fun even though I would like to win but I would take a loss in here if it helps the Colts out.
  14. You didn't hear the latest? AR will be ready for the final game vs the Texans to take on Stroud for the division title (just joking) .
  15. I hope you and @EasyEare right about the Steelers. I never root for them, hate them but if they beat Cincy that would help us bigtime.
  16. A lot of people must be betting on the Falcons, that is what moves the needle. I am trying to figure out why?
  17. Let it go up 3.5, I dare them. If that happens, I am putting $100 on the Colts.
  18. It is at 2.5 I just seen it. Not sure what is going on there. Usually, the home team gets 3 anyway to start, so for example if they are favored by 3 being at home, it would be like a pick 'em game in reality.
  19. When Deflate Gate happened, I have never witnessed so many Pats fans become Scientists over night in here
  20. When it comes to QBs, I am not a hater of any of them. I just analyze how they play, what they have accomplished and rank him. Do I root for guys like Levis, Stroud, or Lawrence for example, NO, they are in our division, but it doesn't mean I hate them. If they play good or great, I will say so, if they play bad in a game, I will say so. If Minshew lays an egg, I will say so, when he plays good I at least acknowledge it though. When it comes to Herbert. He has great talent, puts up great numbers at times, but as any fan would want, they want to see wins. You can have a QB that throws for 5000 yards and 40 TDs but what good does it do if you can't even make the playoffs? Vikings fans constantly complain about Kirk because he has only won 1 big game in his entire career (Saints in the 2019 playoffs). He puts up Star Wars numbers at times. All that matters is, if you win or lose. I have been saying that in my 9 years here. The game thread posts prove me right. If we lose, we get bashed or people are disappointed, when we win, everyone is happy.
  21. Titans are already eliminated but Levis wants to prove he is better than what people say, to build on something as a rookie. I think the Titans still go all out.
