  1. I have been there. I am having a Crown Royal right now and it is only 130pm so I was like screw it . I am off work tonight and just made a huge pot of Chili with grade A meat, beans, Onion, Chili powder, and cheese sprinkled in. I also think the Ravens are going to win it all, I had them before the season started.
  2. To some of the posts above, I don't think it was a bad call by Steichen. The ball was catchable but had it been me, I would have gave it to Taylor and have faith in him getting 1 yard banged up or not. He was running wild all game. Then go from there. I said that to myself before the play was even called. I was thinking just give the ball to 28. When Taylor wasn't in, I knew we would pass, just wasn't sure what it would be.
  3. Yeah, we are doing a Playoff picks thread too, I seen you got your picks in. Good luck.
  4. Yeah, that is thing, if you are behind 4 or 5 games you have take chances to catch someone if you want to win. You tried bigtime that is for sure. Chad almost pulled it off .
  5. It's a tough pill to swallow knowing we were a hair away from winning the Division and the way the last play went down. I was sick to my stomach all night and was thinking if we had done this or that different. I felt bad for Ballard too because he finally could have won a Division Title (we didn't know it at the time but when Jax lost on Sunday that would have been the case). So, no Monkey off the back yet for him either! I know it's hindsight, but I thought in real time - on that 4th and 1, I run Taylor. I am giving the ball to my best player who has 188 yards already. Pete Carroll got cute in the SB and didn't run Beast and it cost him a Championship.
  6. You guys will have me on my toes next season, I will have my hands full, but I enjoy the competition. @Solid84picked 60.8% of his games right after he joined - he is a strong-minded person and I know he likes winning lol. @w87rwas coming on to and he knows his stuff! Who knows, we may even have more people do it next season. Money wise, I finished $450 ahead on the NFL front picking 2 games a week with a point spread, so I could not ask for anything more between our picks here and winning some cash outside of here. I just bet on 2 games a week = either $50 or $100 on the 2 games every week and I came out good. I had 2 college bets, I had $100 on Deion winning 6 games, I lost, but I put $100 on Michigan to beat Ohio St and gave up 3.5 points - I won because Michigan won 30-24. I broke even there. I don't do college much.
  7. Yeah, what makes this pure and fun is, there is no money involved. We all just want to win based on our football knowledge. I have been here since 2015 and this is the most fun I have ever had in here. I equate this too @chad72 being Marvin Hagler - had me scared at the end, @Moebeing Roberto Duran - tough as nails and always stayed the course, you as a like Tommy Hearns = just laying punching bombs at times and with great picking, and I felt like Sugar Ray Leonard just trying to hang on to the Title, which I barely did. All 4 of those boxers were pretty even, I compared you to Tommy because you like to take a lot of chances. I know I have a hell of imagination that is out there, but this stuff was fun. Hats off to @Chrisaaron1023as well, he has been doing these picks for years with me, he always has some great weeks. He killed last week by going 13-3!
  8. Hughes. Yeah, I thought the same thing, that and when Nico got 17 yards on 3rd and 20 when we should have stuffed him was bad too. That allowed them to go for it and get it on 4th and 3.
  9. That is where I see Vrabel going, good call.
  10. Bill Belichick has a great argument to being the GOAT - some will look at the cheating scandals or his record without Brady to why he isn't. Other coaches in that convo are guys like Lombardi, Shula, Gibbs, Walsh, Knoll, Landry, Reid, even Jimmy Johnson IMO. All those coaches at least won 2 SBs. Jimmy technically won 3 but Barry put a set of headphones on and got it done in 1995 with Jimmy's team . If I was Belichick, I would go to LA, nice weather and he has the Golden Boy = Herbert. Chargers have talent on defense too. I hope Belichick takes a job like Atlanta, that keeps him out of the Conference.
  11. It will be interesting to see who wins the Playoff contest, it looks like we have a few new people doing that as well. Pretty cool @jvan1973is participating. Predicting margin of victory is tough but that is what makes it interesting. I knew Chad would come up with something great, he always does.
  12. In the time AR did play, he looked above average passing from the pocket (respectable) and his threat to run will help the offense out bigtime. He will be ok playing the Minshew role but his ability to take off and run if nobody is open will be the difference in us winning 1 or 2 more games. He just needs to pick and choose when he runs, if nothing is there, throw it away and don't take a hit.
  13. I only did it 9 times which is still pretty conservative as I trust my gut a lot, but it didn't pay off. I am damn lucky because I still finished 1st/tied for 1st. Chad was on fire that last week! Switching wrecked @EasyE, he had 4 switches in the last week and got all of them wrong, that is the reason why you caught him for a tie. @Moeand @chad72pretty much matched me the last half of the season, I could never get a big enough lead to feel safe.
  14. You know how it is with some people in here, it gets goofy once the offseason hits because now it's boring. We go from basically 9 playoff games in a row which had everyone on edge = (since were 3-5) to AR being a cocky kid/making dumb statements and Stroud being the greatest kid in the world .
  15. Not sure why you asked this question but both are great in their own way. Andrew was great for 4 years. Those 2 QBs play entirely different styles.
  16. I don't see anything wrong at all with what AR said. He is a very mature down to earth kid. He has incredible confidence that he can be great and the Colts can win SBs with him. I doubt he being rocky, it is called confidence. I would rather have that on my team than a QB that doubts himself.
  17. Switching can also cost you. You went conservative but it paid off. You trusted your gut feeling all year, hard to do when you are battling for position with 3 or 4 other people. I only switched 9 times but was 4-5 when doing so. So I lost 1 game in the standings which almost was a disaster.
  18. Had you kept your Raiders pick you would have beat Moe and I because you would have stuck with the Bills who won. I went back and looked and I was 4-5 when switching. I got cute last week and changed to the Cards, instead of just sticking with the Seahawks. Matt Prater missed 2 Fgs in the 4th Qtr that screwed me, the chances of that happening is slim. Otherwise I would have been 174-98 instead of 173-99. Luckily it really didn't cost me as I still tied for 1st but that could have cost me the Championship.
  19. Looking at it in hindsight, the opening day game vs the Jags is the one I would like to have back. That is a game that could have gone either way by the way. We were up 21-17 before they pulled away at the end. If we win that game and the rest of the season would have played out like it did, we would have won South because we would have the tiebreaker over Houston at that point at 10-7. We can't not allow anyone in our division to sweep us. That is a recipe for disaster. Saying the Texans game is too easy .
  20. Houston won the division but was not even close to being dominant. They barely beat us and they had their franchise QB and we didn't. Being dominant in the division is what the Colts and Peyton were from 2003-2010. Winning the Division 7 out of 8 years in that stretch.
  21. Houston dominating the next decade will never happen. They barely beat us the other night and IMO we played poorly for the most part. Let's see them beat us when AR is starter because in week 2 AR was outplaying Stroud bigtime and we were up 14-0 before he got that concussion. I think between the Colts, Jags, and Texans anyone can win the South in 2024. Titans will be the only team that stinks. Just my 2 cents. Regarding Ryans and Steichen - it is pretty even, so the Texans don't even have the better coach. Regarding Stroud being great for the next decade, we don't know if he will or not. Most people said Lawrence would dominate this year and the Jags would run away with the South. The aged about as well as everyone saying Caleb Williams /USC would win the National Championship before the season .
  22. Something to shoot for next year. Here is my scale = winning %: Hall of Fame = 65% or better Great = 63.5-64.9% Very Good = 62-63.4% Good = 60.5-61.9% Here was everyone's %: 2006 = 63.6% (great) Moe = 63.6% (great) Chad = 62.9% (very good) Easy = 62.1% (very good) Chrisaaron = 62.1% (very good) w87r = 61.4% (good) VikingsFan = 61.4% (good) Coltsva = 57.7% RollerColt = 57.7% Solid84 = 60.8% in games he picked from Week 3-18, missed 1st 2 weeks. (Good) I want to get that 65% winning %. That would be beyond impressive. Moe and I were great but not quite 65%.
  23. I know many in here love PFF. Here are the top 5 rated QBs coming out of college per: PFF, 1. Caleb Williams 2. Drake Maye 3. Jayden Daniels 4. Bo Nix 5. Michael Penix Jr. Bears will probably take Williams and trade Fields for another pick. Not sure how high of a pick they can get for Fields?
