  1. Win or lose I can't pick on Andrew Luck. I hope he gets support from fans.

IDK what's going on here but it's got to be more than Andrew

    2. Jules

      Jules

It is for sure more then Andrew and I don't think he is healthy either.

Know Jules, that I will always support Luck regardless of his problems. I love the kid, you have been right for 4 years straight about him.

  2. "Her name is Aphrodite and she rides a crimson shell, and you know you cannot leave her for you touched the distant sands. With tales of Brave Ulysses, how his naked ears were tortured by the sirens sweetly singing."

RIP Jack Bruce. Lost one of the best bassists yesterday.

Major bummer man. I'm depressed now. Gotta jam out to some Cream tunes this weekend now. Quality bassists never get enough respect IMO. Right Cs4? :)

  3. I really want to see "Gone Girl". I read the book a while ago and it was excellent. The movie does not look too bad but I am sure it is a bit different then the book.

I may write a review sometime but I would hate to spoil it too lol. I saw it tonight. Very good movie, not one of my favorites overall but good. I liked the book better and often do in these situations The characters matched the book quite well though. Very dark film, a good mystery. I love dark stories so I like this stuff.

It's cool Jules. I can appreciate that you want people to enjoy the movie without any spoilers allowed. The way I look at it. No one is forcing anybody to read whatever commentary you write about a specific picture against their will at gunpoint. So, just do whatever trips your trigger preference wise. Yeah, I have a fondness for dark motion pictures too. I'm glad that you were pleased with the final silver screen result without mutilating the original book in the end.

I will say I don't think Affleck was overly "wow" or anything. But, he was the way the guy in the book WAS. Nothing more, nothing less. Good role for him really and he fit the part. The supporting cast I felt was quite good though. I suspect the leading actress will get Oscar buzz since her role is quite deep with a lot of twists and turns.

  4. I ordered both. I may need something to cheer me up when I get them later this week....

  5. You ever notice that if you listen to any radio station long enough you are bound to hear a Tom Petty song?

Love Tom Petty. My wife and I are flying down to West Palm Beach for his Hypnotic Eye Tour.....and hanging at the beach and pool for some relaxation!!

Metallica was on the Classical Channel the other day :)

I really don't wanna see cold temperatures & snow quite yet given the winter I just endured this past year, but with September comes Colts football so as far as trade offs go, SW1 will take it. Please Bradshaw stay healthy & be productive for us this season. Knocking on my wooden desk right now for good luck & a great blue horseshoe year as well as all my friends on here who support other teams too.

    3. Jules

      Jules

Agree with both of you. And southwest, Bradshaw is on the top of my list too to hopefully stay healthy since I feel we really need him based on what we saw last season with him.

Not sure how it is over there today in person. But, I loved Paris as a little one from the late 80's to the mid 90's. Taught myself at a young age on how to eat like the French women do. :)

    3. Nadine

      Nadine

Just about every country has so much more history than we do. It's fascinating. I saw the crown jewels in London. What was interesting to me was that so many monarchs actually borrowed the jewels that they wore for coronation. What's on display is the crown.......with no jewels. Tower of London is fascinating. Having a place that was originally a Roman outpost....... we have nothing like that here

    4. Jules

      Jules

Yep ain't that the truth about history. I think as a kid I got intimidated a bit seeing some of it all but at the same time it was a great learning experience. London was dark and dreary at times to me but it was also stunning. I liked Paris a lot though....loved it.

Does this mean that Jules just got a promotion? Congrats I guess...I really don't understand this Status Update or it clearly went over my head. That's okay, that happens a lot to SW1 these days. :)

  12. My offseason starts soon. The stage is set. :)

Given the hole INDY just dug itself out of Jules, neither Peyton Manning nor Tom Brady should feel overjoyed to go up against us right now.

  14. The playoffs are here. Fiinally. Sit back and watch our destiny unfold....:)

    1. southwest1

      southwest1

I was thinking of you when Green BAY beat Chicago yesterday Jules. Your man pulled it off: A NFC North Division Title & a Playoffs berth. Nice work Aaron! :D

    2. Jules

      Jules

Yep he did well after shaking the rust off. Too bad they drew the 49ers though, going to be a tough one to get by. 49ers can be brutal.....but at least if they lose GB managed to salvage the rough season. Since I also like Jim Harbaugh I am okay with them winning too at times but I am pulling for the Pack.

  15. Merry Christmas to all. And it's Christmas for football fans too unwrapping the playoff seedings and scenarios. :)

  16. This is why I alway wanted to play the Chiefs in the playoffs. Assuming we win this game I hope we either get the second seed or the 4th.

    1. IndyScribe

      IndyScribe

I don't want to face them in the playoffs. I'm rooting for the Ravens to beat the Patriots so we can move up a seed.

    2. Jules

      Jules

Oh I know me too but if we can't get the second I am fine with 4!!!

    3. IndyScribe

Actor Kelsey Grammer portrayed the Mayor Of Chicago on a cable TV show called "The Boss" too, but I will always remember him as Dr. Fraiser Crane on NBC's "Cheers" & his hugely successful spinoff show.
