Michigan St. ruined my entire bracket and chance, sigh. Last year I had Duke and was right. This year my pick goes out asap. From winner to first round exist.

I wish I was higher on the Cards but something burst with them IMO. That was a tough loss they had in the playoffs to the Panthers, very revealing. Also they might have should have lost to the Packers too. I don't trust Palmer as well. Now I HOPE the Cards do well since I do like them a lot.
I have my eye on GB and the Seahawks are turning into the Patriots of the NFC.
The Saints will depend on defense, they can't get much worse there. On offense I think they started to roll nearing the end of last season. And I do think Payton will get more out of Fleener then we did.
The NFC in recent years has been a bit of a revolving door outside the Packers and Seahawks always making it in. I might not picking the Panthers but it depends on how I feel later this offseason. I am torn on the Broncos too since I don't even completely trust Kansas City. Both SB teams are up in the air for me right now.
For the Colts if we win the division again it will be brutal since we may have to face and likely will the Pats and Steelers. Ouch....

Syracuse making the final 4 is pretty exciting, didn't see this coming. Here is the darkhorse we have been looking for!
GB does have that trash defense I agree but I did like how they looked in the playoffs, they had an excellent shot to knock out Arizona too. And Rodgers when he takes more risks and stops worrying about interceptions can play better then anyone in football. He was playing better in the final weeks of the year IMO. Rodgers needs to always let loose more and let it rip.

My husband has the Pats/Eagles game on. Why won't the Pats decline?

@Jules: Yeah, I heard Foles strained his shoulder on a hit. Hopefully, he will be okay. A marriage, a honeymoon, moving into a new house, & kids [Okay, kittens. Close enough.] No wonder you've been MIA from the Forum for awhile. That's a lot of life changing events in a short period of time there. We all need space & time to breathe. I'm happy for ya. I always want my friends to be content & pleased with their place in the world.
"He is trying to make a Celtics room though for us and game viewing."
Cute. That's typically how it works. The husband gets a room in the basement/dungeon to put up his favorite stuff while the wife gets free reign to decorate the rest of the house as she sees fit. Not complaining. Just speaking the truth. That's how the marriage dynamic works. Women are in charge & husbands must get permission from their significant others to do certain things. LOL! Women wear the pants in the relationship & every once in awhile if their spouse listens, follows directions, & is obedient enough, they are allowed a shrine or sports den of their very own.
I know you're a nice person Jules not a ogre. I'm just goofing around.
Yeah, I heard that Brady stomped Philly in their rematch game. I usually watch all the preseason games on NFL Network. Glad to here everybody in your family [including Buddy & Holly] are getting some relief from the heat & humidity BTW.
I'm good I guess. Happy to hear about your nuptials like I mentioned before. I'm more of a lone wolf myself who will probably never get hitched. Such is life. I hope you & your husband have many years of good health & prosperity though.
Nothing newsworthy to report on my end except I hate when satellite techs need to visit to fix a TV reception problem & then they give a window of noon to 5 PM as their arrival time so you really can't go anymore tomorrow & your whole day is shot. Oh joy! [Sarcasm]. I'm hoping the tech person can also hook up my DVD player while they are here since I suck & getting inputs & outputs right. Dish Network personnel have this hangup about installing devices they don't own without their company logo on it. Wish me luck.

My Super Bowl picks for this season are finally in. I am breaking the chain in the AFC for the first time in a while.
I am going Packers vs. Chiefs.
And so it has been spoken.
Keep in mind this is just for fun too, I am not putting money on these two teams or anything.

Amen to that CBE. An actual game. What a novel concept eh.
I'm curious to see Chewy's release of the ball & footwork this yr. courtesy of our new QB coach.
That's why I love NFL Network re-airs of all the Preseason games. I don't have to worry about channels or time slots that way with my DVR. Sweet!

NBA finals chat!
The old one got so long it needs it's own zip code now. Starting a new one for the finals only.
So far a tough game one for the Cavs on the road.

OT but OT before I head to bed.
Kevin Love btw is the nephew of Brian Love of the Beach Boys.
That is so cool.

You heard it here first, Cavs will not only Repeat, they will 3-Peat. How's that for a bold prediction. The writing is on the wall. Everyone that rooted for the Cavs this season will get at least 2 more so enjoy the NBA sucking for the next 2 years because nobody will come close to beating the Cavs. This isn't a 1 and done deal unless the team breaks up. If it was a 1 and done deal than I would've really rooted for the Cavs hard. LeBron ends up with 5 Championships just like Magic and Kobe but at that point most will say he's the best ever, even over Jordan. I have watched this sport for nearly 40 years and if they keep their same team together I will guarantee a Repeat at worse. LeBron is still in his prime, and has capabilities like Jordan and Magic. Kyrie and Love both are young. The only way they wont win it again is if Durant goes to the Warriors or Spurs.

NBA night......
-
NBA playoffs starting up soon! Good luck to certain teams and not so much to others.
-
NBA playoffs, nothing but NBA playoffs!
Okay the old thread got too long so I started a new one.
I see the Heat pulled it out last night.
My official Miami Heat song. "Feeeeel the Heat."
And yes I know.......the Warriors are all the rage again. Sigh.......

No matter what happens the rest of the year, Grigson/Pagano still need to go. Sorry but it's true and we all know it deep down.

I was wrong, I apologize. Tomorrow night. I'm a little too excited for the NBA to return.
I don't even really care about the NFL this year...I didn't even really care last year. I have to admit, since Bountygate with my team, I've lost a lot of the love I had for the NFL. Pats fans with the Deflategate thing, now know how we Saints fans felt over Bountygate. I've never been more happy seeing the ratings are dropping too. it's a serious wake up call to prove that I'm far from the only person unhappy with this sport.
I just find basketball to be more FUN...it's not as politicized (thankfully, I can't bear this with the NFL anymore), it's not as serious, and it's far more fun even when the stakes are high. For "fun games", the NBA certainly delivers.
Win or lose in basketball, it's more forgiving. With the NFL, all you ever hear about is the disappointments in a loss. I've had to hear about that 49ers playoff game now for almost 5 years to the point I am sick to death of hearing it described like it was a funeral.
-
The funny thing is that even with deflate gate the Pats might still win more titles. The Saints.......probably won't.
The ratings drop is funny since well yeah a ton of games are a bore. I hope like hell tonights game is interesting since if not it's another waste of time.
I agree with you, I think people in the NFL dwell too much on past games they lost. I still hear about 2005, 2009 and heck any year here or loss can be like you said.....a funeral.
I still pay attention and stuff and watch at times but something is "off".
-
NOBODY can ever play Danny Zuko as good as John Travolta ever did. I don't even want to hear about anyone else playing him as well, ever. John Travolta WAS Danny Zuko. I seen so many bad imitations now my whole life between remakes and high school music productions.
But, there only will ever be one real and true Danny Zuko. He was bigger then Sandy was in Grease. John Travolta in my opinion WAS Grease.....
-
Oh no, not Rodgers being hurt!!!!! This is terrible.

I can't even believe it. Luck is not back yet.
Rodgers goes down hard a few days ago. Today Hayward.
And my SB pick was the Packers and I was leaning towards Boston for the NBA in the east (losing to the Warriors in the finals).
What the hell.
But I feel soooo bad for Hayward, that looked awful. I was shook so hard by this one. That looked BAD, both teams looked a wreck by it.
I think the best you can hope for at the moment is Hayward can have a clean recovery and come back. And Kyrie can go wild and maybe be an MVP candidate.
But this sucks, omg...........
Lebron I am not even sure either is 100%. He isn't, he has a wobbly ankle. And he still plays too many minutes.
-
I honestly don't think Lebron WANTED to lose the finals again. Especially if he has his eye on leaving. Was better to bow out in the ECFs like he did before he left for Miami.
It will take me some time to adjust to this new look Cavs team too. I love Lebron and Love but I am not completely sure I am digging yet Wade and Rose and Crowder combined there too. It's tough to adjust to.
I kinda miss the old team as crazy as this sounds. The last two years starting 5. I hope Kyrie leaving didn't shake up some weird karmic thing and both teams are going to be screwed? He seems happy in Boston but he is devastated over Hayward.
Even with IT, he is not playing now so Boston would have been without him anyway.
OMG I got no idea now......going to have to sleep on this. Too much sports drama for a few nights and yes FIRE CHUCK PAGANO FIRE HIM NOW. I watched MNF and that was embarrassing to lose to a one legged Mariota.
-
Onto the NFL now, basketball is ruined for the near future unless someone else creates a big 5.
Colts and Saints win division titles?

Not going to lie, this does bother me.
I think thats why I can't focus tonight.I am not sure why, but Lebron is always like stuck in some Shakespearean tragedy play. Even his owner wrote him that nasty letter as if he was playing some evil villain role.Anyway will feel better tomorrow night but tonight to me just kinda made basketball look pathetic.I hope the Cavs can win in Cleveland but sadly they have been even worse in Cleveland then on the road this year.It sucks, but it is what it is. The Warriors won 73 games last year, lost the Finals, then added Kevin Durant. Instead of overcoming their problems, they went out and got another star and made it unfair.
I don't get it. I really don't...apart from LeBron hate, this is like rooting for the 2007 Patriots. It's no different, they even have an undefeated streak going. The whole "best team ever" thing going.
if the Warriors do get a sweep, you're going to be "16-0 IN THE PLAYOFFS, BEST TEAM EVAH" rammed down your throat forever. Warriors fans will have 16-0 avatars all over the place.
This Cavs team I hate to say it was doomed before the playoffs evne began. We knew they weren't that good. it is the weakest LeBron led team of the current decade. They ranked 22nd in defense. But ohhhh myyyyy gooddddd they got KYLE KORVER and are a LOADED team.
Hate is more powerful than love. I have learned that with how pathetic LeBron haters are. They are rooting for the NBA equivalent of the 2007 Patriots just so they can hate on him. It don't get worse than that.
What's the point anymore? Everyone knew the Cavs were going to lose cause Golden State flat out ruined the season the minute they got Durant. Unless you get some personal satisfaction from watching one player loser to super teams, this isn't fun.
I seriously am done with basketball after tonight. Moving on to football and music stuff. Let the LeBron haters have their pathetic parade. it's really no different than rooting for the 2007 Patriots. They should be embarrassed, but hate does amazing things to people.

Well, Nashville just tied the series at home 2-2 vs. the Pens in hockey.
Are you watching this Cavs? The Predators just tied the series AT HOME vs. the powerhouse Sidney Crosby Penguins. Notes, take them.
QuoteCavs have to win game 3 to stand any chance in the series, just to prove to themselves they can do "something" vs the Warriors. Right now, they are living in denial with constant underachieving.
The underachievers are:
1) KYRIE IRVING KYRIE IRVING KYRIE IRVING
2) Tristan *out rebounded in two games by Curry* Thompson despite being like 11 inches taller then Curry. I am still trying to figure this out.......
3) the suckiness known as JR Smith who I am trying to figure out what his best use is at this point.
4) the world famous Cavaliers bench led by THE 3 pt shooting machine Kyle Korver.
5) coaching, I mean I think they just think at times "Don't worry, LEBRON will save us!."
I put Kyrie Irving first in bold letters 3 times since he is key for the Cavs. If he don't have a hot game they are toast. So far in this series he has flopped around like a stoned dead fish masquerading as a point guard. If he sucks again in game 3 then call Allen Iverson and have him fill in game 4 just for fun. Then again Iverson would probably have Curry on the court in a headlock and then a brawl breaks out, which at this point I would not mind. Hell Iverson despite his size would probably even punch out Draymond Green.
As much as people pick on Kevin Love and say he is "a limited white guy" he has actually been doing HIS JOB in this series if you look at the stats. Cute white guy bias is rampant in the NBA. I am shocked Draymond and Zaza have not poured gasoline on Love and set him on fire but if they did the refs would probably call a foul on Love.
Lebron is doing so much in this series he is ready to pass out by the third quarter. And if anyone wants to pick on Lebron I will come after you with my pink umbrella and stuffed animals and raise HELL!!!!!!!!!

Paul George to OKC. Never saw THIS coming. Westbrook has to share the ball again.

The problem with keeping Bradley is that he is an undersized SG that is in his walk year, You have to think about how he fits, should Tatum and Brown live up to expectations? You can sell high on him now and get something in return.
The other caveat is do you start entertaining offers for IT3, as his defensive liabilities are huge? Do you move him and extend Smart, with Rozier as a very capable back up?????
-
Poor Miami Heat, so close yet so far. Sigh.......
Okay so we got Celtics hosting the Bulls, fun series. Often Boston did get Wade when the Big 3 where there too. One good thing for Boston is that they get to avoid Toronto until the eastern conference finals should they make it that far.
As for the aazz factor, not sure who played tonight but of course they lost. Although they do host the Pacers who they should beat IMO unless they blow it.
In the west, we are clearly Portland trailblazers fans at the moment. ;) Although thats a long shot with a 41-40 team. Sigh.

The Cavs are doomed. If someone is into spiritual nonsense, they probably believe they're 'cursed' or something after Bogut broke his leg in less than 5 minutes in his first game with them.
Bogut pretty much died a few minutes after making his season debut with the Cavs. And he would have been a big help too. Damn..........

Realized I have the same wedding date as the royals on the 19th. I don't pay attention them anymore, but some have told me this. Mine will be better. ;) Really have not watched or did much sports lately, sorry everyone. But I paid attention to who we drafted and score watch at times in basketball/baseball.
-
Really stinks when the Colts are on the exact same time as Lakers/Cavs. Flipping back and forth. So far early Lakers doing great, but like they often do will they blow it again later?
-
Red Sox smashing up the Yankees=extremely happy husband.

Yes Jules, 2016 has dealt a heavy blow to several memorable singers/performers. It's alarming to see so many artists perish--Glenn Frey, Prince, Bowie, & now Micheal George.
If there is a lesson here, parents don't give your kids dual first names or become a legend under just 1 iconic name I guess.
-
Saints are so crappy, can they just win A GAME? OMG......just a lousy stinking game. Win one.
Then again we suck too and threw to "stone hands" on 4th and 1.
-
Say no to drugs. And say no to the Ball family.

Seahawks uniforms tonight. Just OH MY GAWD. What the hell? Neon mania. Even the cheerleaders are wearing it.
It's an odd lime green invasion.............

Given that a reality TV star who is the most hateful person in this country and has absolutely zero political experience whatsoever and really does nothing besides get on Twitter and run his mouth like a lunatic, then I have no idea why Tom Cruise can't run for president. He at least knows how to SAVE ACTUALLY LIVES as a Scientologist.
