  1. Silly Halloween skit. But, after watching it several times I find it is quite addictive and I am laughing.

I have to get some rest too, long long day. I will be back tomorrow evening after I do some stuff around the house, and I have company coming over tomorrow, so I will be on late.

      Jules,

That SNL skit about David S. Pumpkins just reinforces the idea that true fright is the element of surprise after a person has been distracted or lulled into a false sense of security. I could see where if a person watches that clip enough it grows on them.

It also reaffirms the point that Halloween is too commercialized now by the mainstream & it doesn't have an underground vibe anymore at all.

At least we have the Hammer classics for Halloween....In a sea of all the crappy horror flick remakes, at least we have the old masters of horror, and the cheesy fun of the 80's slasher movies. I've watched a couple of the old Dracula films today, it's fresh on my mind.

  2. Onto the NFL now, basketball is ruined for the near future unless someone else creates a big 5.

Colts and Saints win division titles?

I think thats why I can't focus tonight.

I am not sure why, but Lebron is always like stuck in some Shakespearean tragedy play. Even his owner wrote him that nasty letter as if he was playing some evil villain role.

Anyway will feel better tomorrow night but tonight to me just kinda made basketball look pathetic.

I hope the Cavs can win in Cleveland but sadly they have been even worse in Cleveland then on the road this year.

It sucks, but it is what it is. The Warriors won 73 games last year, lost the Finals, then added Kevin Durant. Instead of overcoming their problems, they went out and got another star and made it unfair.

I don't get it. I really don't...apart from LeBron hate, this is like rooting for the 2007 Patriots. It's no different, they even have an undefeated streak going. The whole "best team ever" thing going.

if the Warriors do get a sweep, you're going to be "16-0 IN THE PLAYOFFS, BEST TEAM EVAH" rammed down your throat forever. Warriors fans will have 16-0 avatars all over the place.

This Cavs team I hate to say it was doomed before the playoffs evne began. We knew they weren't that good. it is the weakest LeBron led team of the current decade. They ranked 22nd in defense. But ohhhh myyyyy gooddddd they got KYLE KORVER and are a LOADED team. :excited:

Hate is more powerful than love. I have learned that with how pathetic LeBron haters are. They are rooting for the NBA equivalent of the 2007 Patriots just so they can hate on him. It don't get worse than that.

What's the point anymore? Everyone knew the Cavs were going to lose cause Golden State flat out ruined the season the minute they got Durant. Unless you get some personal satisfaction from watching one player loser to super teams, this isn't fun.

I seriously am done with basketball after tonight. Moving on to football and music stuff. Let the LeBron haters have their pathetic parade. it's really no different than rooting for the 2007 Patriots. They should be embarrassed, but hate does amazing things to people.

Cavs have to win game 3 to stand any chance in the series, just to prove to themselves they can do "something" vs the Warriors. Right now, they are living in denial with constant underachieving.

Well, Nashville just tied the series at home 2-2 vs. the Pens in hockey.

Are you watching this Cavs? The Predators just tied the series AT HOME vs. the powerhouse Sidney Crosby Penguins. Notes, take them.

      The underachievers are:

      1) KYRIE IRVING KYRIE IRVING KYRIE IRVING

      2) Tristan *out rebounded in two games by Curry* Thompson despite being like 11 inches taller then Curry. I am still trying to figure this out.......

      3) the suckiness known as JR Smith who I am trying to figure out what his best use is at this point.

      4) the world famous Cavaliers bench led by THE 3 pt shooting machine Kyle Korver.

      5) coaching, I mean I think they just think at times "Don't worry, LEBRON will save us!."

I put Kyrie Irving first in bold letters 3 times since he is key for the Cavs. If he don't have a hot game they are toast. So far in this series he has flopped around like a stoned dead fish masquerading as a point guard. If he sucks again in game 3 then call Allen Iverson and have him fill in game 4 just for fun. Then again Iverson would probably have Curry on the court in a headlock and then a brawl breaks out, which at this point I would not mind. Hell Iverson despite his size would probably even punch out Draymond Green.

As much as people pick on Kevin Love and say he is "a limited white guy" he has actually been doing HIS JOB in this series if you look at the stats. Cute white guy bias is rampant in the NBA. I am shocked Draymond and Zaza have not poured gasoline on Love and set him on fire but if they did the refs would probably call a foul on Love.

Lebron is doing so much in this series he is ready to pass out by the third quarter. And if anyone wants to pick on Lebron I will come after you with my pink umbrella and stuffed animals and raise HELL!!!!!!!!!

  3. Hey everyone!!! Been MIA for a while. The wedding was really great with everyone I know ,  honeymoon was in Hawaii and was a blast. What took most of the summer was moving into the new house with my husband Mark, was A LOT of work, still doing stuff. Tons of fun this summer but man has it been HOT off and on, wow. We got two kittens named Buddy and Holly (don't ask lol).

I hear Andrew Luck is still alive!!!!:rock:Whooo hoooo he lives!!!!!!

Hope everyone is doing well and has had a good summer. Nice to check back in with you all.:kitty:

Jules, Falcons and Rams both are capable of winning the SB. I chose the Vikes but the 3 of those teams along with Philly are all pretty even. The NFC is loaded, the AFC just has Tommy :funny:

Not 100% sold yet the Jags win the division, our division is pretty topsy turvy......it's in flux IMO. Might come down to the end of the year.

Vikings can win it IMO unless the Packers have a surge but I often give up lately on picking Green Bay lol.

I got to log off, but I got to see the Pats look great while being there usual boring selves, sigh.

Want to see the Colts play but it's not until Monday sadly.

Sounds like Foles strained his shoulder tonight, it was a hard hitting preseason game.

@Jules: I agree with your fluffy sidekicks. I want the preseason to end so the real games can begin. I only tape Colts games & Giants games anyway on my DVR. Yeah, heat is tough on everybody. Humans & kittens alike. Green Bay should improve finally with some decent secondary help, but this is the Purple People Eaters year I think.

@2006Coltsbestever: Exactly man, Cousins is the missing piece. Their LB corp & pass rushers are fast, almost always tackle for a loss, it's time to make their mark erasing last season. Plus, I want Cousins to win a SB just to make Skip Bayless swallow his own tongue. I'd gladly love non-stop Minnesota media coverage if it made the overhyped Cowboys dissappear from relevancy for awhile.

  4. Lebron continues his journey of domination soon vs. a team that everyone says is geared up with "Lebron stoppers." Can Lebron continue to soar and slay all the so called "Lebron stoppers?" Stay tuned. Can anyone realistically in the world even stop let alone slow down Lebron James?

We have a real shot now at getting Cavs/Celtics. YES PLEASE.

OMG, it's the end of the third and the Cavs are ahead by well 20 something points. And Lebron is MAD AS HELL. He is stealing the ball and dunking it and just like MAD.

Durant needs to come up with some excuses to miss the finals IMO if we get that finals since Lebron will want to tear him up.

That was hilarious last night. i was laying down and just laughing my head off. lmao

LeBron stole the ball at the end like 3 times in a row. That alley op from Kyrie to LeBron was a work of art.

Can't believe people seriously thought the Cavs would have issues with this Raptors team. They play like they're scared.

Looks like before Kobe owned Iverson though, the Lakers did have one game where AI went off against him I saw looking some things up. But, Kobe did say Iverson helped him become a better defensive player early in this video, just the very beginning is Kobe speaking.

Judging by the footage, that was before Phil Jackson showed up (I can tell by the throwback jerseys. They changed their uniforms the year Phil got there). It was Phil's idea to lock Kobe on Iverson when they played the Sixers going into that Finals and the infamous game where Kobe held him to 0 points in the second half.

Oh, you can believe the haters already have excuses ready to go.....

First off, they'll claim it's "rigged". You can bank on that one. LeBron haters always claim it's rigged when he beats whatever team they root for.

I'm really not scared of Durant. I've noticed for years that LeBron basically owns him when they play. Durant is also a pretty lazy defender at times. Just pull up the OKC/Miami Finals and see that. Everyone ripped Russell Westbrook for that series, but Durant was just as guilty of poor defense. Durant and Westbrook deserved each other, cause they had the same weaknesses - crappy defense, ball hog moments, and big turnover problems.

GSW even plays better without Durant. It's when they don't have Steph or Klay or even Draymond Green that they look off. Durant is just a luxury piece who went there cause he's a coward about facing them again in the playoffs. This team went on a 14-0 run without Durant. That says it all, they don't need him.

  5. Andrew Luck and Drew Brees today combined for 8 TDs and no interceptions. And both lose.

    Very sad.

I may write a review sometime but I would hate to spoil it too lol. I saw it tonight. Very good movie, not one of my favorites overall but good. I liked the book better and often do in these situations The characters matched the book quite well though. Very dark film, a good mystery. I love dark stories so I like this stuff.

It's cool Jules. I can appreciate that you want people to enjoy the movie without any spoilers allowed. The way I look at it. No one is forcing anybody to read whatever commentary you write about a specific picture against their will at gunpoint. So, just do whatever trips your trigger preference wise. Yeah, I have a fondness for dark motion pictures too. I'm glad that you were pleased with the final silver screen result without mutilating the original book in the end.

I will say I don't think Affleck was overly "wow" or anything. But, he was the way the guy in the book WAS. Nothing more, nothing less. Good role for him really and he fit the part. The supporting cast I felt was quite good though. I suspect the leading actress will get Oscar buzz since her role is quite deep with a lot of twists and turns.

Just about every country has so much more history than we do. It's fascinating. I saw the crown jewels in London. What was interesting to me was that so many monarchs actually borrowed the jewels that they wore for coronation. What's on display is the crown.......with no jewels. Tower of London is fascinating. Having a place that was originally a Roman outpost....... we have nothing like that here

    4. Jules

      Jules

Yep ain't that the truth about history. I think as a kid I got intimidated a bit seeing some of it all but at the same time it was a great learning experience. London was dark and dreary at times to me but it was also stunning. I liked Paris a lot though....loved it.

  11. Got engaged on Christmas Eve!!! We are looking at May or June for the wedding right now or some month when it's not brutally cold lol. I was kinda torn on the idea of "the wedding" but I agreed to it due to him since he really wants to go all out on this. He is sort of the romantic type actually and yes those men still exist in todays age!!! And my family wants a special wedding and his mother/sister wants to do something special so.......well I can do it. His father died when he was in his 20's so I think his mom really wants to do something special for her son and family and I respect this. Most I know want a fun celebration so I can do that for them since I don't mind getting dolled up.

    f004465be2ab2ae390fdc2701ba59265--crazy-

Neither one of us has been married before so this is all new to us. We are going to buy a new house together too before the wedding.

I am 36 and Mark is 37. We feel too old for the whole party thing beforehand in terms of something sleazy. I am just going to do something normal with a few girls I know and my sister. And he and his friends are doing something like going to one of the early season Red Sox games and making it a big event. They are mad mad baseball fanatics. He is a Boston sports fan yes but a nice one. He often teases me about coming online for Colts stuff and is like "So whats new with the Colts this week......who got hurt today on the team?". lmao He actually likes Andrew Luck too and hopes he can come back 100%.

Never thought I would get married my whole life but this is what I want now, you just never do know where life will take you. He is my soulmate and we actually can read each others minds. I met him a few years ago but we were mostly just close friends (who liked each other) until we became exclusive romantically this recent summer. But before we got official, we were talking nearly everyday and everyone just wanted us to get together already lol. It became way way too obvious.

I met him through my first cousin's husband who introduced us a few years ago. And our first time hanging out was seeing a cheesy Adam Sandler movie.

My cousin is my age exactly.......we grew up together and her husband wanted me to meet a guy he worked with. He had a picture of me and my cousin on his phone with me in a Colts scarf. lmao

Anyway I hope everyone else had a great holiday weekend and Christmas!!!!

Glad the season is almost over too, we deserve to move on and regroup to better times.

I was wrong, I apologize. Tomorrow night. I'm a little too excited for the NBA to return.

I don't even really care about the NFL this year...I didn't even really care last year. I have to admit, since Bountygate with my team, I've lost a lot of the love I had for the NFL. Pats fans with the Deflategate thing, now know how we Saints fans felt over Bountygate. I've never been more happy seeing the ratings are dropping too. it's a serious wake up call to prove that I'm far from the only person unhappy with this sport.

I just find basketball to be more FUN...it's not as politicized (thankfully, I can't bear this with the NFL anymore), it's not as serious, and it's far more fun even when the stakes are high. For "fun games", the NBA certainly delivers.

Win or lose in basketball, it's more forgiving. With the NFL, all you ever hear about is the disappointments in a loss. I've had to hear about that 49ers playoff game now for almost 5 years to the point I am sick to death of hearing it described like it was a funeral.

    3. Jules

      Jules

The funny thing is that even with deflate gate the Pats might still win more titles. The Saints.......probably won't.

The ratings drop is funny since well yeah a ton of games are a bore. I hope like hell tonights game is interesting since if not it's another waste of time.

I agree with you, I think people in the NFL dwell too much on past games they lost. I still hear about 2005, 2009 and heck any year here or loss can be like you said.....a funeral.

I still pay attention and stuff and watch at times but something is "off".

  13. Hurricane Irma might be one of the scariest looking things I have ever seen. I almost am afraid to turn on the news at times. This thing never seems to die and has been a literal monster. Best wishes to anyone in the path coming up in and around Florida. But it does sound like all safety precautions are being taken ahead of time.

Also I am sad beyond belief at the poor Caribbean islands and how pummeled they got. They have little means to fix things. I have been to the island of St. Martin in the past a while back and it is completely devastated I read and seen right now. It's completely down and they are going insane there with so much isolation from the rest of the world and no clean water and electricity.. And those are some of the nicest people I had ever met before too in the past when I been there, it is called "the Happy Island". I don't know how they can recover from this. Those islands had to recover from Hurricane Luis that ruined them back in the mid 90's and finally did in the 2000's........and they thrive there on tourism to survive economically. Hurricane Luis was a category 4 and Irma hit them at a full force category 5 with winds beyond imaginable.

Just mind boggling. I can't get over this hurricane season. From Harvey to Irma to even Jose now lingering in the background as a category 4 but Jose is not expected to hit the States.

I just hope it all stops soon.

Yep, the IT thing is very confusing and very bad. There is literally zero timetable for his return and his hip "could" be shot without a long rehab after surgery if he ever has it. And the new GM there might have gotten fleeced bad by Ainge. I think the reason the trade held off so long is the new GM thought Ainge would panic and cough up a lot more and he didn't and just gave them another second round pick for 2020.

A 25 year old Kyrie Irving isn't looking so bad right now and people need to be patient since Brad Stevens has a lot of his game to now clean up big time. But Brad Stevens seems to be very into this move and up for the challenge of what Ainge is calling "greatness" with Kyrie Irving. So Kyrie has had his ego stroked big time too already by Boston. lmao

Begs the question though. Why didn't Cleveland void the trade over IT's health? Well IMO Dan Gilbert just wanted the Nets pick, simple as that........he is hurting Lebron yet again.

Boston did get the better deal since their staring PG is Kyrie and the backup is Marcus Smart who they were able to keep and is a very capable player.

    3. Jules

      Jules

Boston still needs more but if they don't win the east this year they know the core is young enough to keep moving forward.

Wait, no Weird Al "Smells Like Teen Spirit" spoof with marbles in Kurt Cobain's mouth?

I love that part because it always reminded of Tom Brokaw on NBC Nightly News since to me, both Kurt & Tom always sounded like they had marbles in the mouth during the grunge era & during TV broadcasts before CNN & news 24/7 changed journalism forever.

Okay, my bad. You posted Weird Al RR7. Nicely done. Pearl Jam has marble vocal problems too. LOL!

It wasn't all Ryan's fault; the play calling was bad.  All those holding penalties hurt. I mean, three in a row? C'mon Man! Besides, I kind of like the nickname "Matty Ice." :D

Halftime show was quite good, and I'm not even a fan of Lady Gaga.

Also, have to admit that the Patriots helped me get points in my Fanduel daily football. So there is that.

Lady Gaga isn't my cup of tea as an entertainer & her performance didn't exactly blow me away. Pop stars who can't pronounce words clearly on stage & hide behind dancers & firework displays bore me to death. She's not what I would listen to regularly. But, then again, I'm more of a Prince or ZZ Top classic rock n roll guy.

Her "Bad Romance" performance was solid, but I like Halestorm's cover of that number, so much better. That version has teeth.

  17. Lakers are currently 5-4 and 7th in the west. Not bad, not bad at all.

Stuff all over the rumorville online that Dwayne Wade might be in talks to join up with Lebron again, in Cleveland.

Rumors, but they are saying the Cavs are following Wade and his wife now on social media too. lmao

AND.......the Heats offer is lower then what Wade wants.

      Just omg if this happens.

I can't even believe it. Luck is not back yet.

Rodgers goes down hard a few days ago. Today Hayward.

And my SB pick was the Packers and I was leaning towards Boston for the NBA in the east (losing to the Warriors in the finals).

      What the hell.

But I feel soooo bad for Hayward, that looked awful. I was shook so hard by this one. That looked BAD, both teams looked a wreck by it.

I think the best you can hope for at the moment is Hayward can have a clean recovery and come back. And Kyrie can go wild and maybe be an MVP candidate.

      But this sucks, omg...........

Lebron I am not even sure either is 100%. He isn't, he has a wobbly ankle. And he still plays too many minutes.

    3. 2006Coltsbestever

      2006Coltsbestever

I had a Celtics/Warriors Finals but it isn't happening now. It will be Cavs/Warriors now IMO health providing. I want OKC to win it all but I cant see anyway anyone beats the Warriors. Pacers will be lucky to be .500.

    4. Jules

      Jules

I honestly don't think Lebron WANTED to lose the finals again. Especially if he has his eye on leaving. Was better to bow out in the ECFs like he did before he left for Miami.

It will take me some time to adjust to this new look Cavs team too. I love Lebron and Love but I am not completely sure I am digging yet Wade and Rose and Crowder combined there too. It's tough to adjust to.

I kinda miss the old team as crazy as this sounds. The last two years starting 5. I hope Kyrie leaving didn't shake up some weird karmic thing and both teams are going to be screwed? He seems happy in Boston but he is devastated over Hayward.

Even with IT, he is not playing now so Boston would have been without him anyway.

OMG I got no idea now......going to have to sleep on this. Too much sports drama for a few nights and yes FIRE CHUCK PAGANO FIRE HIM NOW. lmao  I watched MNF and that was embarrassing to lose to a one legged Mariota.

  21. NOBODY can ever play Danny Zuko as good as John Travolta ever did. I don't even want to hear about anyone else playing him as well, ever. John Travolta WAS Danny Zuko. I seen so many bad imitations now my whole life between remakes and high school music productions.

But, there only will ever be one real and true Danny Zuko. He was bigger then Sandy was in Grease. John Travolta in my opinion WAS Grease.....

Dirty Dancing is one of my favorites from when I was a very little kid. It came out when I was like 6 or 7 and a lot of parents didn't let their kids watch it. lmao

I watched it and my best friend did too and we had Barbie and Ken doing this:

Yeah I was 16 when it came out. Pretty cool movie. Mom loved it. Pat was making all kinds of movies back then. Roadhouse was sort of B movie but a classic too with him in it. He was a bouncer at a bar in that one.

Lol!  I knew spelling "Porzingis" would be easier but went rogue!  He would be the real "get" but the fact that Nerlen is an RFA, something may be forced?  It may be more realistic unless NY, sans Jackson, nay come back down off their original wants...which were reportedly ridiculous.

    3. TheRustonRifle#7

      TheRustonRifle#7

The problem with keeping Bradley is that he is an undersized SG that is in his walk year,  You have to think about how he fits, should Tatum and Brown live up to expectations?  You can sell high on him now and get something in return.

The other caveat is do you start entertaining offers for IT3, as his defensive liabilities are huge?  Do you move him and extend Smart, with  Rozier as a very capable back up?????

@Jules: Yeah, I heard Foles strained his shoulder on a hit. Hopefully, he will be okay. A marriage, a honeymoon, moving into a new house, & kids [Okay, kittens. Close enough.] No wonder you've been MIA from the Forum for awhile. That's a lot of life changing events in a short period of time there. We all need space & time to breathe. I'm happy for ya. I always want my friends to be content & pleased with their place in the world.

"He is trying to make a Celtics room though for us and game viewing."

Cute. That's typically how it works. The husband gets a room in the basement/dungeon to put up his favorite stuff while the wife gets free reign to decorate the rest of the house as she sees fit. Not complaining. Just speaking the truth. That's how the marriage dynamic works. Women are in charge & husbands must get permission from their significant others to do certain things. LOL! Women wear the pants in the relationship & every once in awhile if their spouse listens, follows directions, & is obedient enough, they are allowed a shrine or sports den of their very own.

I know you're a nice person Jules not a ogre. I'm just goofing around.

Yeah, I heard that Brady stomped Philly in their rematch game. I usually watch all the preseason games on NFL Network. Glad to here everybody in your family [including Buddy & Holly] are getting some relief from the heat & humidity BTW.

I'm good I guess.  Happy to hear about your nuptials like I mentioned before. I'm more of a lone wolf myself who will probably never get hitched. Such is life. I hope you & your husband have many years of good health & prosperity though.

Nothing newsworthy to report on my end except I hate when satellite techs need to visit to fix a TV reception problem & then they give a window of noon to 5 PM as their arrival time so you really can't go anymore tomorrow & your whole day is shot. Oh joy! [Sarcasm]. I'm hoping the tech person can also hook up  my DVD player while they are here since I suck & getting inputs & outputs right. Dish Network personnel have this hangup about installing devices they don't own without their company logo on it. Wish me luck.
