  1. Congrats to "2006" for getting his upset special right this weekend; Rams over Seahawks. I said I would do a status if you got it right lol. I am actually stunned by that game.

I could tell you the sky is blue and Bogie could tell you it's green and you would take his side or beat around the bush and say Grigson sucks eventhough that wasn't the topic. Anyway thanks for the shoutout regarding my Rams prediction, much appreciated. Have a nice sleep, chat with you tomorrow.

You're making this a little too personal I'm afraid...

You think you're 100% right, you clearly said it...You could be wrong. It happens. I'm wrong about stuff all the time. If you want to laugh, I picked the Dolphins in an upset win and they stunk it up down 24-0 early. I also had Oakland over Atlanta, and lost that one too (And now I have to be scared of Julio Jones vs my crappy team's defense for next week). I think a LOT of folks right now are feeling the blues over being high on Jacksonville during the summer. It happens. We can't always be right. Sometimes you hit, sometimes you miss.

BTW, you said it yourself that Irsay needs to look into another GM. Here's your quote just to remind you. You backtracked on this, the minute I criticized contract.

      Quote

@Jules, Irsay may want to go out and look for a new Coach or GM. When we lost to the Lions that screwed us because today's game made it a must win. We played our hearts out but their Defense is just nasty. We had chances to win even that is what is frustrating!

If you want to defend the contract, I don't care. That's your opinion and that's cool. I seen this before though with Brees and seen it with Flacco in Baltimore, and the contracts did kill those teams and this makes matters even worse being Grigson has done nothing to build a competitive team. It's well known the problems this team has, that they can't protect Luck. If I were a Colts fan, I would be scared to hell and back right now after I seen footage of yesterday's game. They have done nothing to build an offensive line to protect him. All that money to a QB, and he's taking beatings like that, I hope he don't get injured again and yesterday's footage was scary enough. Luck went through hell last year with injuries, I would hate to see it happen again.

When a team is losing, they're open to criticism. I'll use my team as an example; Saints fans do not like you to criticize Payton and Loomis. But, we've finished 7-9 the past two years, have an aging Hall of Fame quarterback approaching his twilight years and still performing at a great level, yet we're 0-2 and back on the road to finishing 7-9 again. They deserve the criticism right now cause we are a losing franchise, and it's a shame that we're wasting away Brees' last years while he's still putting up great performances.

Don't get mad at me for saying this team is horribly run. My opinion shouldn't bother you, as I don't get paid for it. If you check around other NFL fan bases, I can assure you that non-Colts fans don't really look too positively on how this organization is run (and to be fair on this, same for my Saints, a lot of non-Saints fans don't look positively at Loomis and Payton). When that contract happened, I knew it would be a problem. A lot of fans, were SHOCKED that Irsay brought Grigson back after the disaster from last year. Pats fans aren't the only ones that know this team has huge problems at the top, and because they can see this, does not make them haters. I've wanted Luck to succeed since day 1, but I realize that this is not the same organization it was 10 years ago. I don't know how anyone could hate Luck, cause off the field, he's a likable kid with progressive ideals, which makes him more likable than most. This team was blessed for years having Tony Dungy as a coach and Polian as a GM. If Dungy was still around, I would have faith in this team. That man is a saint in my book and I'll forever defend Dungy.

For the record; Jules don't agree with me on everything. We've disagreed hundreds of times over the years, especially when it comes to the Saints or Colts, and of course; New England. You can ask her, for years, I never trusted the Patriots to win a 4th Super Bowl and she proved me wrong on that. But it's for fun, nothing personal. If she wanted to, she could easily brag about proving me wrong on NE or Baltimore, or other AFC teams that I occasionally am totally wrong about.

It's not personal at all with me, it's just fun debate to me. I did say "may" want to go out and look into a new GM or Coach. The key word was "may". Obviously if we start 0-4 or 0-5 then you have to wonder if this team should. I have never said Grigson nor Pagano are Great and have even been critical of them at times. I dont think they are the worst either like many say on this forum. When the team loses I am critical of players that play bad as well. I am not mad at you at all. It's just a sports message board. I honestly think this forum just goes way overboard with the criticism of the team when we lose which is silly to me. I get upset when we lose but I am not the type that bashes our team 24/7 like some on here do. Does no good to do so and brings negative vibes to the Site. Stuff I really don't care to read. Regarding Jules, I like her and have never had any problems with her. All I did was is make a fair statement in saying when it comes to you and I she always agree with you. She may disagree with you on certain subjects but when us 3 chat she sides with you pretty much everytime and I am ok with it. When I made the sky reference it was a joke more than anything. I will stick to my opinion on Luck's contract, we had to re-sign him, he is a franchise QB and one of the faces of the NFL and he is young. If he was in the 30's and hadn't won a SB by then I would agree with you that his contract wouldn't be deserved. He is only in year 5 what a lot of people aren't getting either. It took Peyton 9 years to win a SB. Some Colts fans on this forum need to quit being spoiled and have a little patience.

    4. Jules

      Jules

I'm tired tonight, had a long day with a lot of stuff. I really don't have the energy to continue this discussion a lot. So we can move on eventually. I am not mad at anyone either.

For the record, Bogie and I have had disagreements and fights even over the years. Maybe it is not public so everyone can watch it like a soap opera for fun. But, it has happened with disagreements over sports and non sport related things too.

For the record Luck is kinda over paid based on never being a SB winner or MVP,  but we all knew it was going to happen. And he probably could have gotten big money as well on another team. But, the problem is I do feel sorry for Luck as well. I love the guy but he has never had the top level management and coaching he truly deserves. Coming out of college we all knew he had the potential to be one of the best in the league but sadly he has been beaten like a drum here on the field.

Saints are even in a more sorry situation and Bogie could tell you this since Brees is still playing at an elite level but his coach and management has gone full lunatic. They cut good players from the team and can't win close games to save their lives.

Both Luck and Brees deserve better, period. I can't change my mind on that. The Chiefs would probably win the AFC with either QB at the helm.

I mean look at how good our o line used to be once and how easy it used to be:

      Look at that hole.......

Thats what people need to remember too, we used to have a lot going for us that was not just Peyton Manning. We had coaches, management.........players.....everything. And yes I realize some don't want to hear criticisms and to say "be patient" but I really do doubt that Pagano/Grigson can ever build anything around Luck as good as Polian/Dungy once did. Sorry but thats the truth.

  2. Congrats to Kobe Bryant, first player in NBA history to have TWO numbers retired by the same team.

Bryant wore No. 8 from 1996 to 2006, when he switched to No. 24 for the remainder of a 20-year career spent entirely with the Lakers. He will be the 10th player honored by the Lakers with a retired number hung high on the Staples Center wall, but the first in NBA history to have two numbers retired by the same team.

Being a Cubs fan, (which I have been since 1984 as long as I have been a Colts fan actually) I am so happy they pulled it off. To be honest at this point I really don't even care how the Football season ends now because I pretty much know that the Colts aren't a SB contender, probably wont even make the Playoffs at 3-5. After the Cubs winning it, whatever happens in Football and Basketball I am ok with it + Peyton got his 2nd Ring last season as well. Colts have the Ring in 2006, Cubs have it now so I am good. Regarding Basketball, if LeBron wins it again more power to him as he is the best player in the league which I never have disputed. Just not sure where I would rank him all-time = he definitely is Top 10 but not so sure he is Top 5? but it's all opinion and preference when it comes to stuff like that. I know the Pacers probably wont beat the Cavs in the Playoffs so it is what it is. I am not a Warriors fan at all either, they are just a pick I made to win it all.

You mentioned that your husband is a Red Sox fan; is he also a Patriots fan? That would make for an interesting relationship if he were. haha Anyway, enjoy the game and I hope the Colts can pull out a victory.

    3. Jules

      Jules

Yeah I try to hide he is a Boston sports fan here but I think the cat is out of the bag. haha My husband is from Worcester, MA. He's one of the nice ones though and actually likes Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck.

I had told some people a while ago here too I live in New England. We moved here when I was a very young. I was born and raised in Indy though.

Only team I kept with me from moving was the Colts and I will never give up the Colts. He knows this. haha I kinda like the Pacers but never got hard into them. I only kept the Colts as my childhood team. I have not been to Indy since 2007.

But with the Patriots, I think it's more like his third team or something. He is more into the Red Sox and Celtics.

I adopted the Celtics with him last summer and it was real easy. I always was into Brad Stevens going back to his Butler days. We kinda do the Celtics thing together hardcore.

The first picture he ever saw of me btw was me with a Colts scarf around my neck. It was a pic of me and my cousin Erin. Erin's husband Rich showed Mark (my husband) me and said "You should meet Erin's cousin."

    4. southwest1

      southwest1

Your husband sounds pretty cool Jules. Did he just say he likes Peyton Manning & Andrew Luck as part of the courtship phase of your relationship though? No guy is completely honest in that phase as we tend to do a number of things to impress our partner or win brownie points vs truly believe what we say at that juncture.

It's fine. I'm not here to make waves. If he makes you happy, nothing else matters in the grand scheme of things. Enjoy the game regardless of the final score. I hope you have good seats.

  10. Going to have to cut down on internet and late night time online until around mid to late summer, wanted to let people here know. My schedule is changing lately and I have to get up earlier most days. My wedding is mid May and I have a new house with my future husband, so I am slowly moving out of my current place too. He always lived around 45 minutes from me and we found a new home halfway between where we currently have lived. And we are still looking at a few places for a honeymoon. And I am working out a lot too and stuff to look good for the wedding haha.

Just a ton to do, so sports is going to have to take a back seat momentarily. But I will still be watching sports at times in the background and occasionally logging in to check on Colts news in terms of Luck etc and how things are progressing here. So I might talk once in a while.

Just wanted to let people know, I am more than OK and not ignoring anyone but my internet activity is going to be slowed a lot for some months here.

I am having a blast. Just very very busy and it should clear up mid to late summer. I can't wait until training camp starts and we can get a new season underway!!!! I will definitely be active again eventually.

I can't wait until the wedding but the big load is moving to be honest. haha That is the most work right now.

  11. Goodbye to Scott Weiland. RIP.

  12. Gordon Hayward, my heart almost literally broke seeing that happen. I waited so long for him and Brad Stevens to unite. And in the first quarter of his Celtics career he goes down with a horrible gruesome injury. Just.......I am shocked.

Like how is this even possible? Why?

    Sigh........

Get well Gordon and heal up. Sadly this happened to one of the good guys too.

      Jules

Celtics start 0-2 but against two tough opponents and after an emotional injury disaster. What is kinda sad and bizarre, is in two games Jaylen Brown honestly looks like the best Celtics player all around. Kyrie was a mess tonight.

Boston can't go too far this year IMO if they have to just rely overly on Brown and Tatum, they are far too young and raw.

    4. Jules

      Jules

Although I try not to be the sort of person who over reacts. I mean even the Warriors lost their opener lol But we all know the Warriors will be awesome when they kick in some point this season as usual.

  13. Got engaged on Christmas Eve!!! We are looking at May or June for the wedding right now or some month when it's not brutally cold lol. I was kinda torn on the idea of "the wedding" but I agreed to it due to him since he really wants to go all out on this. He is sort of the romantic type actually and yes those men still exist in todays age!!! And my family wants a special wedding and his mother/sister wants to do something special so.......well I can do it. His father died when he was in his 20's so I think his mom really wants to do something special for her son and family and I respect this. Most I know want a fun celebration so I can do that for them since I don't mind getting dolled up.

Neither one of us has been married before so this is all new to us. We are going to buy a new house together too before the wedding.

I am 36 and Mark is 37. We feel too old for the whole party thing beforehand in terms of something sleazy. I am just going to do something normal with a few girls I know and my sister. And he and his friends are doing something like going to one of the early season Red Sox games and making it a big event. They are mad mad baseball fanatics. He is a Boston sports fan yes but a nice one. He often teases me about coming online for Colts stuff and is like "So whats new with the Colts this week......who got hurt today on the team?". lmao He actually likes Andrew Luck too and hopes he can come back 100%.

Never thought I would get married my whole life but this is what I want now, you just never do know where life will take you. He is my soulmate and we actually can read each others minds. I met him a few years ago but we were mostly just close friends (who liked each other) until we became exclusive romantically this recent summer. But before we got official, we were talking nearly everyday and everyone just wanted us to get together already lol. It became way way too obvious.

I met him through my first cousin's husband who introduced us a few years ago. And our first time hanging out was seeing a cheesy Adam Sandler movie.

My cousin is my age exactly.......we grew up together and her husband wanted me to meet a guy he worked with. He had a picture of me and my cousin on his phone with me in a Colts scarf. lmao

There is actually a vocal minority of Saints fans rooting for Atlanta tomorrow just cause they're 100% convinced that in the Super Bowl New England will stomp the crap out of them. To them, seeing the Falcons get beat down in the SB will be their Christmas presents under the tree like last year when Carolina got stomped.

I don't want the Falcons in the SB at all. I can't stand them. I'm glad Kyle Shanahan is leaving them though. He's turned Matt Ryan into a killing machine as an offensive coordinator. I'll gladly accept the future if they can regress back into the diet coke wannabe Saints.

They should have gotten him something! They owe him A LOT. He saves their lives, literally.

And yeah cuteness over load indeed. The more cats the better!

Thanks for the Easter greetings Jules. Can we put the Dallas Cowboys star at the bottom of the basket though? haha

I know; I know. Even during Easter SW1 has to slam the Cowboys. Sorry. My bad.

  19. Happy Super Bowl Weekend everyone!!!

Only way the Pats lose this game is if they Turn it over 2 or 3 times resulting in Falcons points and the Falcons play pretty flawless. It could happen that way because on any given day the better team doesn't always win. I do want the Falcons to win but I am picking with my brain not who I want. Tom is pretty much considered the GOAT anyway already by most people so if he wins this game it is what it is. I still have Peyton in my Top 5 so this game doesn't affect Peyton's legacy one way or the other regarding the Tom vs Peyton debates. I was much more into it last season because I thought Peyton getting Ring 2 catapulted him into the Top 5 no matter what, believe it or not some had him around 7-10 because he only won 1 SB. Now that he has 2 rings to go along with his 5 League MVP's only a hater would keep him out of the Top 5. In a 1 game situation I would still take Montana over Brady or Peyton but Brady has accomplished more than Montana winning wise by making 7 SB's and winning just as many = 4. If he gets #5 he sits alone at the top of the Mount Rushmore of QB's. My Mount Rushmore = Montana, Brady, Unitas, and Peyton. That wont change no matter what happens tonight in my eyes.

Brady has already surpassed Montana's playoff record.

As much mystique is centered around Montana, if you actually break down his playoff record and compare it to Steve Young, it's really a subjective point. I said Steve Young because if you compare him to Young, you see their playoff records are mirror image. Only difference is Young stayed injured so often and did not have the durability or career lifespan as Montana, so we never really know what could've happened.

I'd tell you Brady surpassed Montana with the 2014 Super Bowl. Montana was rarely ever in a position like that, and needing a 10 point comeback in the 4th quarter to win.

Thank god this Super Bowl has two good quarterbacks and we don't have to deal with that crap show from last year.

Everyone I know, even non-Saints fans are rooting for the Pats because we want to see Goodell have to hand that trophy to Brady after the made up B.S. gate controversy.

Only a select few handful of Saints fans want to be traitors and root for the Falcons. But seriously speaking, as hated as the Pats are, Goodell is hated even more.

Today will be a glorious day in NFL history if Goodell is forced to hand that trophy to the team he created a fake controversy over and launched a huge stupid investigation that just fired them up mentally.

Go Pats!!!! Revenge for both stupid 'gates'. I wish it could've been the Saints, but this is the second best option. Make Goodell look the fraud he is.

  20. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!!!!! I guess I can stop posting win updates for the Celtics. Sigh. The streak ends to the Miami Heat of all teams in Miami. I guess it was coming, other teams wanted it more at times. Just wish it wasn't to the Heat who I don't think are all that great despite being fired up lol.

It ends at 16. It was a blast thought. Now the Celtics have to start showing up more BEFORE 4th quarters........

Have a good time tomorrow, sounds like a big feast. I have to go to my folks house too and my sister sometimes goes with me so we can share a car. I had a big dinner over NBA stuff tonight with my boyfriend and sister so I am stuffed. We talk too much about Lebron and the Celtics and Lonzo Ball.

I will try to catch some of the NFL action or at least the later stuff. Just hoping the Cowboys continue to slide lol. I also would not mind San Diego going on some sort of hot streak, Rivers deserves it. I am starting to warm up to the idea of the Vikings now too........

Yeah we need a day off from basketball before back to backs this weekend. lmao

Sucks you got to work so hard at night and all that. I see your posts and comments from time to time on it. You sometimes sound stressed lol. Sports must be a good diversion.

Just make sure you get sleep at times since in the winter months we get vulnerable to colds and the flu!

Yeah I work all kinds of hours, sometimes it's stressful and some days are easy. When it's not busy I can get on the Internet like tonight, there isn't any other employees here.  2 guys are here fumigating part of the building so that is why I am here. I volunteered for it because it's double time after midnight. I am off until Monday once I get out of here in the morning. Have a fun time tomorrow with your family and take care.

Yeah I would take him over LeBron anyday! Loved his killer instinct + he played his whole career with 1 team, didn't go ring chasing. Shaq had a lot to do with the first 3 Championships he won but the last 2 Kobe carried the Lakers, Gasol was Good but nothing like Shaq was. I don't see anyone ever coming close to scoring 81 Points in a game either regarding today's players. Curry hasn't even come close in doing so and he's had games where he has even made 10 3's or so.

    3. Synthetic

LeBron is a testament to poorly made decisions. Curry and that Golden State team is not that fun. They're too perfect. I had this same problem with the Bulls back in the 90's, even though I really hope they don't break the '96 Bulls record. That team is starting to become 2007 Patriots level annoying with all the BEST TEAM EVER tags stamped on them before they even reach the Finals. I wanted every team to knock the Pats out in 2007, and I would love to see the Spurs knock the Warriors out in the playoffs.

I miss Kobe already...I've missed Phil Jackson for a few years now, and missed Shaq for a while. I still remember when Shaq went to L.A., Gulf Coast sports fans loved this since he came from LSU and both the Tigers and Lakers have the same colors, so it was seen as a good luck charm.

    4. 2006Coltsbestever

      2006Coltsbestever

Yeah I have always been a fan of Shaq. I picked the Spurs to win it all before the season started but beating the Warriors will be a tall task considering the Warriors will also have HCA. Warriors play the Spurs tomorrow in San Antonio and that game has a lot on the line. Warriors need to win their last 2 games to beat the Bulls record and the Spurs need 2 more home wins to become the first team ever to finish 41-0 at home. As of now it looks like Pop is playing everyone. Regarding the 2007 Patriots, the only other time I celebrated a SB win more than when the Giants beat them was of course when Indy won it in 2006. I had a Great 2 years watching the Manning's win the SB. Colts winning it all was huge for the franchise and Indianapolis, then the Pats losing to Eli of all QB's while being huge undefeated favorites was so enjoyable. Like you, I got so sick of hearing how the media was already labeling the Pats the best team ever. IMO had they even went undefeated I still don't think they were better the Cowboys of the 90's or the 49ers of the 80's. Both of those teams were stacked. If the Pats went undefeated that is all everyone would've heard for years is how they are the greatest, some think that anyway. Imagine how their fanbase would be had they went undefeated?? I think 2004 was their best team and I will put them in the Top 5 of all-time. That was the best Defensive team they ever had and Brady never made any mistakes back then, Adam never missed any clutch kicks either. They aren't better than the 92 or 93 Cowboys though or the 1989 49ers.

  23. Heck yeah I am rooting for the Panthers to win it all. I will be in the minority here for sure!!!

  24. Hey everyone!!! Been MIA for a while. The wedding was really great with everyone I know ,  honeymoon was in Hawaii and was a blast. What took most of the summer was moving into the new house with my husband Mark, was A LOT of work, still doing stuff. Tons of fun this summer but man has it been HOT off and on, wow. We got two kittens named Buddy and Holly (don't ask lol).

I hear Andrew Luck is still alive!!!!:rock:Whooo hoooo he lives!!!!!!

Hope everyone is doing well and has had a good summer. Nice to check back in with you all.:kitty:

Jules, Falcons and Rams both are capable of winning the SB. I chose the Vikes but the 3 of those teams along with Philly are all pretty even. The NFC is loaded, the AFC just has Tommy :funny:

Not 100% sold yet the Jags win the division, our division is pretty topsy turvy......it's in flux IMO. Might come down to the end of the year.

Vikings can win it IMO unless the Packers have a surge but I often give up lately on picking Green Bay lol.

I got to log off, but I got to see the Pats look great while being there usual boring selves, sigh.

Want to see the Colts play but it's not until Monday sadly.

Sounds like Foles strained his shoulder tonight, it was a hard hitting preseason game.

@Jules: I agree with your fluffy sidekicks. I want the preseason to end so the real games can begin. I only tape Colts games & Giants games anyway on my DVR. Yeah, heat is tough on everybody. Humans & kittens alike. Green Bay should improve finally with some decent secondary help, but this is the Purple People Eaters year I think.

@2006Coltsbestever: Exactly man, Cousins is the missing piece. Their LB corp & pass rushers are fast, almost always tackle for a loss, it's time to make their mark erasing last season. Plus, I want Cousins to win a SB just to make Skip Bayless swallow his own tongue. I'd gladly love non-stop Minnesota media coverage if it made the overhyped Cowboys dissappear from relevancy for awhile.

  25. Hey, who do you think has the biggest and best bad azzz 1-2 team on the block? WE DO. I mean look at us, proving da doubters wrong too and the bad media people. We are rockin and rolling.......up next the Jags in London who HAVE NO CHANCE. We own the Jags and London is our second home.

Pats are gonna get creamed by us if we make the playoffs. No doubt about it. We are going to nail Brady to the wall.......

HOW ARE THE SAINTS DOING!!!!!!!! CAN THEY WIN TOMORROW. HOW ARE THE SAINTS? AREN'T YOU WORRIED ABOUT THE SAINTS?

Oh boy, imagine if Dungy had Dak back on those old Tampa Bay teams. He would have finally had a quarterback. No need to bounce the Dilfer-King-Johnson train of mediocrity.

Or maybe the Browns are Job?

The powers in the sky want the Pats to do in Rex Ryan next weekend. Since the Pats are Satan's chosen team.

*Rams/Bucs; what in the hell was wrong with this game? So many times, both of those teams could have ended it. But like a book that constantly flip flops and adds filler, that game went on and went on and went on, even though it was pretty much over once the Rams got a 10 point lead early on.

And there was that odd weather delay in this game too.

Also, I think San Diego keeps losing players to injury. Whats up with that?

But, why are the Vikings and Broncos being favored?
