Red Sox smashing up the Yankees=extremely happy husband.
-
Going to Colts/Pats with my husband next month. LOL should I cover my eyes during the game or can an upset happen? Luck looks fine IMO, but Brady is some sort of freak ageless wonder that even makes Lebron James jealous.

Yeah I try to hide he is a Boston sports fan here but I think the cat is out of the bag. My husband is from Worcester, MA. He's one of the nice ones though and actually likes Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck.
I had told some people a while ago here too I live in New England. We moved here when I was a very young. I was born and raised in Indy though.
Only team I kept with me from moving was the Colts and I will never give up the Colts. He knows this. I kinda like the Pacers but never got hard into them. I only kept the Colts as my childhood team. I have not been to Indy since 2007.
But with the Patriots, I think it's more like his third team or something. He is more into the Red Sox and Celtics.
I adopted the Celtics with him last summer and it was real easy. I always was into Brad Stevens going back to his Butler days. We kinda do the Celtics thing together hardcore.
The first picture he ever saw of me btw was me with a Colts scarf around my neck. It was a pic of me and my cousin Erin. Erin's husband Rich showed Mark (my husband) me and said "You should meet Erin's cousin."
-
Your husband sounds pretty cool Jules. Did he just say he likes Peyton Manning & Andrew Luck as part of the courtship phase of your relationship though? No guy is completely honest in that phase as we tend to do a number of things to impress our partner or win brownie points vs truly believe what we say at that juncture.
It's fine. I'm not here to make waves. If he makes you happy, nothing else matters in the grand scheme of things. Enjoy the game regardless of the final score. I hope you have good seats.
-
Had a dream er nightmare (?) the next SB was Patriots/Cowboys. Don't know who won.
-
In your dream scenario, I doubt the Cowboys pull off the confetti drop Jules. Prescott is darn good yes, but next to Brady, he is chicken feed.
Anything is possible I guess. Right? I'm not ready for Dallas Lombardi Reunion Tour yet. Let em suffer for another 5 yrs at least. A tad bit harsh sure, but it's where I'm at. LOL!

My husband has the Pats/Eagles game on. Why won't the Pats decline?

@Jules: Yeah, I heard Foles strained his shoulder on a hit. Hopefully, he will be okay. A marriage, a honeymoon, moving into a new house, & kids [Okay, kittens. Close enough.] No wonder you've been MIA from the Forum for awhile. That's a lot of life changing events in a short period of time there. We all need space & time to breathe. I'm happy for ya. I always want my friends to be content & pleased with their place in the world.
"He is trying to make a Celtics room though for us and game viewing."
Cute. That's typically how it works. The husband gets a room in the basement/dungeon to put up his favorite stuff while the wife gets free reign to decorate the rest of the house as she sees fit. Not complaining. Just speaking the truth. That's how the marriage dynamic works. Women are in charge & husbands must get permission from their significant others to do certain things. LOL! Women wear the pants in the relationship & every once in awhile if their spouse listens, follows directions, & is obedient enough, they are allowed a shrine or sports den of their very own.
I know you're a nice person Jules not a ogre. I'm just goofing around.
Yeah, I heard that Brady stomped Philly in their rematch game. I usually watch all the preseason games on NFL Network. Glad to here everybody in your family [including Buddy & Holly] are getting some relief from the heat & humidity BTW.
I'm good I guess. Happy to hear about your nuptials like I mentioned before. I'm more of a lone wolf myself who will probably never get hitched. Such is life. I hope you & your husband have many years of good health & prosperity though.
Nothing newsworthy to report on my end except I hate when satellite techs need to visit to fix a TV reception problem & then they give a window of noon to 5 PM as their arrival time so you really can't go anymore tomorrow & your whole day is shot. Oh joy! [Sarcasm]. I'm hoping the tech person can also hook up my DVD player while they are here since I suck & getting inputs & outputs right. Dish Network personnel have this hangup about installing devices they don't own without their company logo on it. Wish me luck.

Hey everyone!!! Been MIA for a while. The wedding was really great with everyone I know , honeymoon was in Hawaii and was a blast. What took most of the summer was moving into the new house with my husband Mark, was A LOT of work, still doing stuff. Tons of fun this summer but man has it been HOT off and on, wow. We got two kittens named Buddy and Holly (don't ask lol).
I hear Andrew Luck is still alive!!!!Whooo hoooo he lives!!!!!!
Hope everyone is doing well and has had a good summer. Nice to check back in with you all.
The font and stuff here has changed? lol

Not 100% sold yet the Jags win the division, our division is pretty topsy turvy......it's in flux IMO. Might come down to the end of the year.
Vikings can win it IMO unless the Packers have a surge but I often give up lately on picking Green Bay lol.
I got to log off, but I got to see the Pats look great while being there usual boring selves, sigh.
Want to see the Colts play but it's not until Monday sadly.
Sounds like Foles strained his shoulder tonight, it was a hard hitting preseason game.
-
@Jules: I agree with your fluffy sidekicks. I want the preseason to end so the real games can begin. I only tape Colts games & Giants games anyway on my DVR. Yeah, heat is tough on everybody. Humans & kittens alike. Green Bay should improve finally with some decent secondary help, but this is the Purple People Eaters year I think.
@2006Coltsbestever: Exactly man, Cousins is the missing piece. Their LB corp & pass rushers are fast, almost always tackle for a loss, it's time to make their mark erasing last season. Plus, I want Cousins to win a SB just to make Skip Bayless swallow his own tongue. I'd gladly love non-stop Minnesota media coverage if it made the overhyped Cowboys dissappear from relevancy for awhile.

Realized I have the same wedding date as the royals on the 19th. I don't pay attention them anymore, but some have told me this. Mine will be better. ;) Really have not watched or did much sports lately, sorry everyone. But I paid attention to who we drafted and score watch at times in basketball/baseball.
-
Going to have to cut down on internet and late night time online until around mid to late summer, wanted to let people here know. My schedule is changing lately and I have to get up earlier most days. My wedding is mid May and I have a new house with my future husband, so I am slowly moving out of my current place too. He always lived around 45 minutes from me and we found a new home halfway between where we currently have lived. And we are still looking at a few places for a honeymoon. And I am working out a lot too and stuff to look good for the wedding .
Just a ton to do, so sports is going to have to take a back seat momentarily. But I will still be watching sports at times in the background and occasionally logging in to check on Colts news in terms of Luck etc and how things are progressing here. So I might talk once in a while.
Just wanted to let people know, I am more than OK and not ignoring anyone but my internet activity is going to be slowed a lot for some months here.
I am having a blast. Just very very busy and it should clear up mid to late summer. I can't wait until training camp starts and we can get a new season underway!!!! I will definitely be active again eventually.
I can't wait until the wedding but the big load is moving to be honest. That is the most work right now.

It is still Lebron's world after all lol

The East is pretty wide open, it is much tougher to predict this season. If Toronto could grow a SACK they could even probably win the East. That team is pretty loaded with talent. The Celtics to me are still the best Defensive team in the East and best Coached. Cavs got more athletic after the trade and still have LeBron so yes they are dangerous as usual. Teams like the Pacers and Bucks are intriguing, both teams have great chemistry and a Superstar to boot. I am now considering Oladipo a Superstar at this point and the Greek Freak definitely is.
-
C's will get better again defensively when Smart returns. Since without him, they seem to miss that spark plug. They are sewer trash lately.
Raptors IMO are the best east team on paper, best bench too. Great home crowd and they are hungry. Problem is......sigh, it's the Raptors. Even their fans are dumb aazzes from Canada.
I think every eastern team has dangerous aspects to them but I still got to say Lebron is the favorite until he is knocked off is all. I mean......it's LEBRON.
QuoteI am now considering Oladipo a Superstar at this point and the Greek Freak definitely is.
They are great players, but I think they need to show more in the playoffs for a few years before I can put them in true superstar status. Same with the hyped up Sixers too.
Like I need signature moments and games too or something. But the playoffs are not all that matters. But it's why Kyle Lowry is a great all star player but is known for being a dud in the postseason.
I like Oladipo more than the Greek Freak. ESPN is in love with the Bucks, they kinda worry me since I fear they will get ref help in the postseason. Oladipo I think will prove himself in the postseason in the next few years win or lose since his numbers are usually great.

Talk to everyone next week!!! Going to Boston tomorrow night for a long weekend with my fiance for Pacers/Celtics and Cavs/Celtics. Good times!!!!! Two terrific games on the same weekend is a classic we can't pass up.
-
I am having a double wedding in May I joke to my fiance. To him and Brad Stevens. Kyrie been out for the last week and 3-0 and even using AL HORFORD at point guard and making it work? Just get out of here, I can't take it anymore!!!! This man makes stuff work when it looks impossible.
-
I shockingly fit perfectly in my mom's wedding dress she wore marrying my dad in the 70's. So I am going to wear it for my own wedding in May. Just needs a few adjustments here and there and a professional cleaning since it has been in a box wrapped up for so long preserved. But I am almost the same exact size as my mom my whole life.
Needless to say me wearing her wedding dress has my folks an emotional mess. They are loving this.
But it sure saves me a load of having to go around looking for a NEW dress and spending extra money on it that we can use for something else. Although this dress cost a fortune in the 70's for prices then so it's me going retro. It's sort of a Grace Kelly style wedding dress.

Too bad she got rid of that dress, but then again everyone is different when it comes to saving things. My mom saved everything. I mean she preserved her dress forever wrapped up in some airtight bag and a box. And her mother, my grandmother died when I was in the 4th grade sadly. But my mom saved her mom's cream wedding outfit too and still has that preserved! But no my mom is not going to wear her mom's outfit. We are not going that far.
Oh this dress will be saved forever though, my mom is big on memories. Photos etc. Just everything.
-
Fiance got tickets for us to go to Celtics/Cavs in Boston February 11th. I think I am going to probably act at this game like the girls who saw the Beatles in America for the first time.
The finest display of athleticism in the world will be in front of me live as well as THE Brad Stevens. Oh and Paul Pierce night. Lebron. Da works.
-
I changed my mind, giving the C's a shot now in the east. They made the Cavs look old as dirt tonight and Kyrie didn't even have a good game and spent most of the night deferring.
The IT angle will still be there but I am confident Stevens knows how to shut him down IF Isaiah can make it through the eastern playoffs healthy. I am amazed, holding the Cavs/Warriors to both 88 points this year is pretty difficult to do. And the Celtics missed a lot of shots tonight too.
Cavs are still easily the favorites but if somehow the C's can get Hayward back in some role by years end.......well then it gets real.

To be fair I did expect the C's to win tonight since they had a rest and the Cavs were on a back to back. But I didn't think it would be so easy.......
I am SHOCKED Boston won so easily without Kyrie having a good shooting night. But for all those who said he was A BALL HOG. He isn't. His shots were not going in tonight so instead of forcing it he got everyone else involved. He didn't try to play hero ball vs. Cleveland when they were covering him so much in this game.
-
Hope Kevin Love will be okay, he hurt his ankle. He gets hurt way too many times in Boston. But he was not playing well before the injury either, Horford was owning him. Big Love fan but he can be fragile.
Feel bad for IT too since he seems to genuinely still love Boston and the people. Sigh........he was even smiling when it was over.
-
Got engaged on Christmas Eve!!! We are looking at May or June for the wedding right now or some month when it's not brutally cold lol. I was kinda torn on the idea of "the wedding" but I agreed to it due to him since he really wants to go all out on this. He is sort of the romantic type actually and yes those men still exist in todays age!!! And my family wants a special wedding and his mother/sister wants to do something special so.......well I can do it. His father died when he was in his 20's so I think his mom really wants to do something special for her son and family and I respect this. Most I know want a fun celebration so I can do that for them since I don't mind getting dolled up.
Neither one of us has been married before so this is all new to us. We are going to buy a new house together too before the wedding.
I am 36 and Mark is 37. We feel too old for the whole party thing beforehand in terms of something sleazy. I am just going to do something normal with a few girls I know and my sister. And he and his friends are doing something like going to one of the early season Red Sox games and making it a big event. They are mad mad baseball fanatics. He is a Boston sports fan yes but a nice one. He often teases me about coming online for Colts stuff and is like "So whats new with the Colts this week......who got hurt today on the team?". He actually likes Andrew Luck too and hopes he can come back 100%.
Never thought I would get married my whole life but this is what I want now, you just never do know where life will take you. He is my soulmate and we actually can read each others minds. I met him a few years ago but we were mostly just close friends (who liked each other) until we became exclusive romantically this recent summer. But before we got official, we were talking nearly everyday and everyone just wanted us to get together already lol. It became way way too obvious.
I met him through my first cousin's husband who introduced us a few years ago. And our first time hanging out was seeing a cheesy Adam Sandler movie.
My cousin is my age exactly.......we grew up together and her husband wanted me to meet a guy he worked with. He had a picture of me and my cousin on his phone with me in a Colts scarf.
Anyway I hope everyone else had a great holiday weekend and Christmas!!!!
Glad the season is almost over too, we deserve to move on and regroup to better times.
-
Want to wish the forum a very Merry Christmas. I won't be on the forums active until Christmas is over next week since I have relatives coming out who will be keeping my hands full this weekend starting soon lol. Some of them are cool, but some are a load to handle lol.
Between work, my family and my boyfriend (soon to be fiance, rumor is *winks* ) I have my hands full this long weekend!!!
Have a great Christmas and holiday weekend everyone!!!!!!!!!

Thanks guys, was checking in before I went to bed. Merry Christmas to you guys as well and have a wonderful weekend!!!!
The Colts might be in a rough year but we still got each other and bright times are ahead again for next year, count on it.
QuoteLakers just ended the Rockets 14 game winning streak at Houston. Kuzma had 38 Points. Lonzo 16 Points, 9 Rebounds, 4 Assists. Merry Christmas Jules!
And there you have it!!!!! Finally the Lakers got "the win" they needed and I been waiting for. Just in time too. Lonzo gets an extra present in his stocking now.
Merry Christmas Lakers Nation and Kobe .

Kobe jersey retirement tonight. So I leave us all with this quote by Lord Mamba.

OMG, that intro tonight for Kobe and the story about the little boy and the journey he had and when he had to end it all was PERFECT.
Loved it all, loved seeing all those big names there too tonight.
Iverson was there taping it and mucking it up with Kobe!!!!
Love the interactions between Kobe and Magic too and the fact Shaq is back with them as friends.
-
Really stinks when the Colts are on the exact same time as Lakers/Cavs. Flipping back and forth. So far early Lakers doing great, but like they often do will they blow it again later?
-
The younger Ball sons going to Lithuania is just bizarre. Especially since I am more than half Lithuanian. It's my Ball family karma.
This is nuts.
Oh and btw, sick of the Lakers blowing games they had leads in.

It will be real interesting to see what the Lakers do in the Draft and Free Agency. Magic is about to pull a rabbit out his hat IMO. Something big about take place. I already like the progress that Ingram, Clarkson, and Randle are making too. Ingram had a bad game tonight but has played well most of the season. Lonzo is going to be great IMO, give him another year or 2. He already does a lot of things well.
-
When the Lakers lose, stay out of Lakers forums and Lakers social areas online until the next time they win.
It can get frightening and sometimes the random Lonzo Ball haters who hate the Lakers even show up incognito.- Show previous comments 4 more

Lonzo is definitely a throwback at PG, that is what Lakers fans need to realize. I honestly don't think he will ever be a great Scorer but I never did. That isn't his job. His job is to pile up Assists and be the Leader of that team. Rebound well to start fastbreaks, etc.. Yes he needs to score some to keep the opponent honest but 15 a game would be adequate IMO. He isn't a scoring PG like Curry, Westbrook, and Harden are. He is more like CP3, Kidd, Stockton type. Regarding Walton, I really liked him at first and I had him up there with Brad Stevens potential but not sure now. His rotations are puzzling!
-
I agree with everything you said. As for Brad Stevens, he can make his mistakes too. He had Al Horford against Drummond the other night instead of going with Baynes at center. Not a great move since Al doesn't have enough muscle at times, kinda like a tall thin Kevin Love type. He can score but sometimes be pushed around by the monster dudes.
I give Brad Stevens a pass though since they play the Pistons 3 more times and he likes to feel out different line ups a lot in various games for the future. And they might end up seeing them yet again for the playoffs.
Stevens has some puzzling rotations at times too and especially for second units but he often does it to feel out what will work long term as well.
Luke is trying to find what works as well but I don't think they should "bench" Lonzo like they were a few times for the 4th quarter, it won't help his confidence. I won't give up on Luke yet though........he is OK so far and has even defended Lonzo Ball at times.
Sometimes I don't think Luke uses Lopez well though so far.
Oh no........Lakers play the Warriors tonight. *hides* I read Durant/Curry are cleared to play but I don't know if their minutes are cut.
If Lakers lose tonight I hope nobody freaks out on this one. Since it's not a win you should expect by any means. Lakers though IMO should have beaten the Clippers the other night.
-
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!!!!! I guess I can stop posting win updates for the Celtics. Sigh. The streak ends to the Miami Heat of all teams in Miami. I guess it was coming, other teams wanted it more at times. Just wish it wasn't to the Heat who I don't think are all that great despite being fired up lol.
It ends at 16. It was a blast thought. Now the Celtics have to start showing up more BEFORE 4th quarters........

Have a good time tomorrow, sounds like a big feast. I have to go to my folks house too and my sister sometimes goes with me so we can share a car. I had a big dinner over NBA stuff tonight with my boyfriend and sister so I am stuffed. We talk too much about Lebron and the Celtics and Lonzo Ball.
I will try to catch some of the NFL action or at least the later stuff. Just hoping the Cowboys continue to slide lol. I also would not mind San Diego going on some sort of hot streak, Rivers deserves it. I am starting to warm up to the idea of the Vikings now too........
Yeah we need a day off from basketball before back to backs this weekend.
Sucks you got to work so hard at night and all that. I see your posts and comments from time to time on it. You sometimes sound stressed lol. Sports must be a good diversion.
Just make sure you get sleep at times since in the winter months we get vulnerable to colds and the flu!
-
Yeah I work all kinds of hours, sometimes it's stressful and some days are easy. When it's not busy I can get on the Internet like tonight, there isn't any other employees here. 2 guys are here fumigating part of the building so that is why I am here. I volunteered for it because it's double time after midnight. I am off until Monday once I get out of here in the morning. Have a fun time tomorrow with your family and take care.
-
Sweet Sixteen wins in a row now for the Celtics. Kyrie Irving: 47 points in Dallas.
Crazy game, Mavericks led by Dirk played their butts off to break that streak and damn near did it and lost in OT. Mavs were up 10+ in the 4th.
- Show previous comments 5 more
-
Dipo I think is a decent closer and becoming that type of guy. Pacers usually just go with the hot hand. Yeah 4 in a row isn't nothing compared to 16 but 16 isn't the norm. Usually when teams win 4 or 5 in a row they play a stinker and lose. Long streaks are rare. I would be surprised if the C's have a streak longer than 7 the rest of the year once this one is over.
-
15 wins in a row now for the Celtics. Kyrie *the closer* Irving 30 points, Jaylen Brown 27 points. Who says they don't have star power?
-
When they play Atlanta, it's ugly. It's very very ugly. I am not sure ether but it's just one of those teams. They try hard against the Celtics even when they are bad.
I remember back when the Celtics won the title with KG they got allll they could handle with the Atlanta Hawks in the very first round and it went the distance. Thats when the Hawks had Pachulia and he and KG wanted to murder each other on the court.
Celtics have a stretch here of not playing very good teams so if they get complacent someone will be wanting to end this streak. Next up is the Mavs who aren't very good. And then the Heat who are kinda tough to figure out.....
-
14 wins in a row for the Celtics. Huge huge win tonight over the Golden State Warriors. AMAZING. Stunning really.
-
Warriors never get a good rep for D but they play nasty D when they try.
Boston will be lethal if they can get more offense going but it's really not their thing this year, it's all defense and a few clutch plays in the 4th.
This game was GORGEOUS for fans of defense. Shooting was off though outside of KD and Jaylen Brown for most of the game.
-
Celtics win 13th straight. Dedicated to Kyrie Irving's new clear face mask.
Good news? 13 straight is a tough thing to do obviously.
Bad news? Horribly weird game against the Nets who played their butts off and the Golden State Warriors go to Boston on Thursday lol.
You can just hope for the best from now on. It's been a fun ride to watch.
