Depending on what you like from DM, the album where they really started shift is 'Some Great Reward'. That's where they went with a more darker approach and it become their formula for the future, that album changed them forever. Before '85, they were pretty much a pure new wave band with lots and lots of bright synths and their most poppy sounding tunes (Just Can't Get Enough, See You)
