  1. Agreed. No inside pressure. Too easy for Mahomes to just step up and away from pressure.
  2. I remember in the manning years there was always talk about being backed up sometimes helped give the offense more room to operate. Makes sense, a five yard penalty gives you an extra 2400 square feet.
  3. Put in the backups. Wouldn’t put it past someone on the cowboys to take exception.
  4. So because Love isn’t Kermit he doesn’t get those calls.
  5. Love is playing like an elite QB. May be his arrival year.
  6. Based on defensive schemes. They were more spread during his bigger runs and playing closer to the line when they wanted to play the run. Teams do this all the time, it isn’t a new concept.
  7. It’s not that far fetched and is actually pretty sound. When the Texans wanted to stop the run, they absolutely did. Four times on the last series actually. The touchdown was a missed tackle and as stated, everyone else was scattered. On the season the Texans typically allowed a bit over 3 yards per carry before Saturday. I think they thought to take their chances with a less than 100% JT rather than risk letting Minshew hitting someone open for the big play. Slows the game down and makes it more predictable. I know it’s the trendy thing to think Minshew is terrible but he did make some pretty great throws that game and has the capability to do so.
  8. Average WALKING stride is 2.5 feet for an average man. 6 steps. Football players are larger but regardless. Two parties moving towards eachother is roughly half that, so 3 steps. Add in running and you easily have two steps or less.
  9. Two parties moving to eachother. Yes.
  10. I don’t think people realize how much ground a human that size and at speed can cover in two steps. Think choo choo train math problems.
  11. Which is less than two steps for contact with Goodson.
  12. Then you missed the point. Warner said Minshew out the ball where he did so as leading him would’ve put him in the path of two defenders.
  13. Less than two steps. Leading him would have put Goodson on a collision course with the free defender. Pitt had one engaged.
  14. Not speculating on whether he ran the wrong route but rather showing why Minshew put the ball where he did. Pitt had two defenders on him and they were two steps away from Goodson. Had Minshew led him on his trajectory it could’ve ended poorly. How likely that scenario would’ve been, who knows. But we do know Minshew has turned it over often enough for that to at least be a possibility. Now the pass itself needed more velocity and I think you have a point with his feet. More velocity would’ve put the ball higher or closer to Goodson which is better than trying to pluck it out of the air. So you didn’t watch the video.
  15. By design it’s a quick throw. He put the ball so as not to lead Goodson right into the bodies of Pitt and a defender(potentially a second defender as well if they reacted quick enough). The ball hit Goodson in the hands. Could the throw have been better? Absolutely but so can tons of other throws. Warner explains why the ball was put where it was and the logic holds up.
