  1. I trade Alfred Morris, Deangalo Williams, Victor Cruz, and Josh Gordon

I receive, AP, Marques Colston, and Cecil Shorts

    Should I do it?

    Eeeek....again, depends on settings......PPR etc...

So if your trading just WR your giving up Cruz/Gordon for Colston/Shorts, which i think is a horrible trade for you, I'd much rather have Cruz/Gordon than those other 2.....

AP for Morris/Deangelo.....This is where it gets tricky.....Do you consider AP to be last years AP? That Minny team seems to be in shambles. Is he going to get the work moving forward that he needs to be a top flight RB again? Or will he face 9/10 in the box like he did vs NYG, and only get 15 touches?...

AP has 511yds and 5TDs...Morris has 472yds and 3TDs...Morris missed half a game, AND has already had his bye week.....

  2. The same Robert Kraft who accused the president of russia of stealing his super bowl ring? Real classy...

Dont forget the reciting of lines with that one stripper chick. That was pretty monotone and comical.

    But what about other owners?

Arthur Blank- Guy has a Hitler stache, classless.

Ralph Wilson- Poops the bed, classless.

Jerry Richardson- Just a big ol dummy

    Jerry Jones-.......

    Davis-.......

    Dan Synder-.......

Some of these guys are too easy.....Just alot of classlessness in the NFL owners meetings.....

  3. How is everyone feeling about RB now that we are about halfway thru the year.

Many people have always been set on going RB heavy and early, since the dawn of fantasy football, and cannot be talked out of it.....

Now the league is moving more passer orientated, and the results have benefited both WR and QB.

If you were to draft today, how many RBs would go in the first? 3? 4? Charles/Mccoy/Ap/Forte?

I think if a draft were held today it would go something like

    Charles/Mccoy/Peyton/AP/Forte/Calvin/Dez/DT?/Brees?/AJ/Graham/Rodgers?

That doesnt seem to outlandish for me. maybe mix in a few lynch/bush/marshall/foster in there...Maybe..

I think Im pretty much sold on taking RB late, and hoping to hit on one......

  4. What are the rules of your league?

Is it PPR? Flex spot? How many WR can you start?

If its non PPR, I'd probably make this trade all day everyday.

If its a half point ppr, I'd still make this trade. in our half pt PPR league Forte is avg 19pts a game, and he is having arguably the best season of his career, where as AJ/Morris are avg 16.2/11.5 and they are having 'bad yrs'.....Boldin is at 11.2, but take away his ridiculous unrepeatable week 1 performance, his avg plummets to around 7/8pts a game.....

Your downgrading at RB, but not too significantly, and you are skyrocketing your WR, esp after a Julio loss....

AJ green can, and will win you around 3-4 games a year, Forte is good for about 1....Forte is more consistent,  AJ is more of a threat....

I just recently traded for AJ in a competitive league.  .5PPR. My team wasn't doing well (Romo/Calvin/AntonioBrown/Blackmon/ Ridley/Morris/Miller/Sproles/Finey......I gave up Sproles/Antonio Brown for AJ b/c I needed that 'spark'. Well Now I am pairing AJ with Calvin, and just this week those two put up 32/25 pts for me, and pretty much dominated my opponent by themselves...Those 2 wr give me such a huge advantage over any opponent I have.....Now, they wont put those #s up every week, no one does, but I fully expect about 2 or 3 more games with an outcome similar to this one.

  5. I found myself pretty upset at various parts of the game. Im not sure if it was Pep, or if it was Luck, but they were really forcing the ball to TY, and it just wasnt working. Something has seemed off between Luck/TY I started noticing in the Jax game, and it has seemed to continue. Im wondering what it is.

TY was targeted 11x last night, and had 2 rec. That is not good. (Fleener was 5/5, Reg was 5/8, DHB was 4/7).

As for how far we can go. Who knows, I never thought they'd beat Sea, SF, or Den and they have beaten all 3, so my opinion seems to be pretty worthless.

  6. Bernard/Moreno is a pretty good deal. If you could get that, I'd prob do it.

But Doug Martin is a commodity. As a Martin owner I prob wouldn't move him for anyone but a few people. Ap Charles McCoy. That's probably it straight up.

Martin is on track for 368 carries. 35rec and around 1500yards....is you told me that at the beginning of the season I would thrilled....his TDs are down no doubt, but if you expect Martin to finish with around 8tds like I do, then Martin is track to score around 7tds in the next 11games...

  7. For years I said Mathis was better than Freeney, and tried in vain to prop Mathis up, all while trying to put Freeney in perspective....Mostly I was met with 'Mathis is good BUT Freeney makes him go, they gameplan Freeney etc etc etc'....Well finally we are seeing what Mathis can do all by his lonesome, and in a scheme that works for him. And it is simply amazing.

9.5 sacks, 1 PD, 2FF, 17 tackles with 7 assists......in 5 games is just incredible.....If he can get in the 15 sack, 5 FF range, with 40 tackles, he should be in the front running for DPoY....

  8. First off, loving T-Rich. I understand the comments on his vision....He def has room to improve his vision. I also feel like he just isnt there yet on the receiving end. I cant point out any play in particular but I remember thinking to myself that maybe he just doesn't know his routes yet, or perhaps him and Luck aren't on the same page....His blocking and short yardage running has been phenomenal, and I love it....

One thing I havent liked a whole lot is his 'usage'. I like the fact that he is getting 20+ touches a game, I just wish they were coming in different formations, and downs. It seems to me he is going against a stacked box, up the middle on every 1st and 10. The plays seem fairly 'telegraphed', and I havent seen him get the ball in space at all....Perhaps a screen pass here or there, a few of the Donald Brown draw plays, and maybe a few more off tackle runs...I think a combination of those would take that YPC from 3.0 to around 4.0 pretty quickly.

And as for the "well Peterson/Charles/Rice etc were the loan options and they produced"....T-Rich has started 16 games in his career, and played 20 games overall and has 349/1206/13 TDs, to go with 59/424/1....The guy is pretty special. That amounts to roughly 20 touches, 81yds, and a TD a game in a very short career....

    TRich....20/81/.7

AP.........22/116/.9 (Best RB in the world, and league MVP)

    Charles.15/92/.4

    Rice.......19/104/.5

Really not that large of a gap on a career per game basis. What he lacks in yardage, he makes up for in TD %.

  9. Obviously none of them are in their prime, but I was going off IndyTrav's comparison when he said Prime V Prime.

The only Prime I'm going off of is the best they've showed thus far because that's all we have on them. Because Reggie is past his peak, obviously, and Marvin washed out of the league.

Do his receivers now have more potential to be greater than his Indy WRs? That's an argument I could see. But presently are they superior to the '05 Colts? I don't see it from anyone but Thomas.

How should we go about this? Lets compare Peytons 49TD year, and the WR....I'll put Colts WR best season in ()....With Broncos WR last yr and the pace they are on this year in ()......

    Marvin- 86/1113/15 (143/1722/11)....DT-94/1434/10 (116/1572/16)

    Wayne- 77/1210/12 (104/1510/10)....Decker-85/1064/13 (96/1360/4)

    Stokley- 68/1077/10 (Same)...Welker N/A....(104/1064/24)

    Clark- 25/423/5 (100/1106/10)....Thomas N/A...(71/948/16)

HOLY COW! Look at the pace those Den. WR are on at this point in the season...Every single one of them has a year projected to be arguably better than the best years our Colts WR ever had, and they are all doing it at the same time, where as the Colts did it in different years. Its like a video game.

  10. D.Thomas v Marvin....Obviously Marvin has the benefit of the career #s, but D.Thomas is bigger and stronger, and his 15.3 yards per catch last year is more than Marvin had at any point in time over his career. Only 3x in Marvins career did he have more yards than Thomas did last year.....

Wayne v Decker......Again, Wayne has the benefit of career #'s, but Wayne has never had as many TDs as Decker had last year.

Thomas v Clark....Again, benefit of #'s goes to Clark...But Clark played 11 seasons, and 4 of them he had more TDs than what Thomas does now, thru 4 games (Thomas is on pace for 72/948/16).

Then the kicker is Welker. Who is obviously the best Slot WR of all time.

Career obviously Colts WR dominate, however prime v prime of all things considered, its gotta be Den.

  11. Having season tickets in both RCA Dome, and Lucas, I can 100% say it is not even close to the RCA Dome....I was there during the Colts v Steelers MNF game in which we were accused of piping in crowd noise, and I can assure you that was not the case...

I was at the 4 & 2 game, and that was probably the closest Lucas has ever gotten to being like the RCA Dome...

I was also at the season opener/stadium opener vs the Bears, and it was embarrassingly loud. With Bears fans....

Can Lucas get loud? Yes. Does it? Not often. Combination of larger stadium, less engaged fans, and general 'class' of those attending.

  12. The ole Most Valuable Debate......who means more to who....never gonna be a right answer.

As it stands now, it will take a pretty monster season from 2 people to beat out Manning. Brees and Brady.

My thought is the only one who can dethrone Peyton would be if Brees had a semi-typical year of 5k+/45ish TDs, and a 13-3 record with that schedule....

All this will be moot if Peyton throws for 55 TDs tho.

  13. im not sure where you're getting your numbers, but Peyton averages well over 3965 for his career. He has only thrown for less than 4000 twice.

You sir, are correct, I added his injury season. His career avgs are:

4249/31/15, compared to Brees (in NO) 4795/34/16....

  14. Its a pretty interesting debate.....Obviously Peyton has raw #'s over pretty much everyone in existence. So without using that....

Comparing them amongst there peers, and how many times they have led the league in QB categories.

    Completions/Attempts/Comp%/Yards/TD/INT

    Peyton: 3/2/2/2/3/1

    Brees: 3/2/3/4/4/1

Thats pretty amazing to me that Brees has led the league in yards and TDs 4x, where as Peyton with his HoF WRs and 3+ additonal years has only done it 2x in yards, 3x TDs....And he's only done it once since Brees got to NO, and that was Brees first year in NO....

Brees 7 year run in New Orleans may in fact be the greatest run a QB has ever had, statistically. Guy has averaged 4795/34/16 while in NO, while Peytons career avg is 3965/29/14......Thats crazy.

  15. I disagree. Nope not even close. They have developed into one on some teams YES but did you think that before last year when Peyton got ahold of them??? Peyton is molding that talent...great qbs make the most of it...look at Tom in NE..case in point by the end of this year and next those guys people will say are stud receivers but without Tom I doubt it. There are clearly way better receivers in the NFL. I still think GB is the closest match....athletic and talented (maybe even NYG) but none you would say is a stud receiver like Bryant, Megatron, Fitz, Green, Jones, Marshall, A. Johnson, Wayne, Jackson I could go on and on. I promise these guys were nice young kids but no way they blow up without Peyton's help. I'm not saying they are scrubs...Blair White but Peyton has had better targets before in Wayne, Harrison, Stokely, Clark than what he has now. I'm just saying these guys have benefited soo much from being under Peyton's totulige. (sp) He takes good receivers and makes them look great...and great receivers and makes them HOF worthy. Peyton doesn't have even what I would say is one of the top 15/20 wr in the league. What I was saying is you wouldn't trade Dez Bryant or Julio Jones etc for any of these guys....and certainly not a year or two ago.

No I prob. wouldn't trade Dez, Fitz, Calvin, AJ, Marshall, Julio for any Den WR.

And Peyton def. makes every WR better...but as a stand alone WR core, I'd take it over any other in the league....it would come down to: ATL, GB, and maybe NYG.

    Thomas/Decker/Welkler/Thomas

    Roddy/Julio/ ?/ Tony G

    Nelson/Jones/Cobb/Finley

I think people have underestimated just how good Demaryius Thomas is. He was plagued by injuries his first 2 seasons..... The last 5 games of his 2nd year, he had a line of 25/448/3, which is simply incredible, not only that, but in the 2 playoff games that year he had 10/297/1. That would put him on pace to have a 80/1433/9 season, and that was with TEBOW at QB.....Oddly enough, the very next year Peyton comes to town, and DT puts up 94/1434/10......

  16. ...and that team is and Peyton definately is. People act like Demarious Thomas is as good as Marvin Harrison and Decker is Reggie Wayne and Julius Thomas is Jimmy Graham and Moreno is Edge. Outside of Welker none of those guys are proven commodities...certainly talented but really...nobodies...you wouldn't start a receiving core with any of them. Peyton raises the level of everyone..and outside Welker being Welker that offense runs because of him. There are a few qbs in the league that can do what Peyton can do with these guys but lets not act like those guys are Julio Jones, Dez Bryant, AJ Green, Megatron or any other premier wide reciever. I would compare the talent to the GB Packers wide recievers...and well Peyton is playing at a much higher quality than Aaron Rodgers. Not to say Peyton does have great talent around him but the time he has put in with them has raised all their level.

Whoa, I dont think anyone thinks these guys are HoF bound just yet, but you are criminally underselling that WR core.

Every single one of these guys is a #1 on a team. Thomas 6-3 230 1st rd pick,  Decker is 6-3 206, 3rd....obviously Welker is Welker...Moreno is a 1st rounder, and this new TE is something Peyton has NEVER played with (a basketball player TE)......Pound for Pound this may be the leagues best WR core, with or without Peyton.

  17. He's having a fantastic year......That 7 TD game is going to skew the #s for a long time......

    Past 2 Games:

    Peyton- 62-80 681yds 5TDs

    Rodgers- 60-85 724yds 5TDs 2int

    Ryan- 49-78 663yds 4TD 1int

    Stafford 56-81 605yds 4td 1int

I wouldn't look to much into Peyton continuing to do his thing, but some of these guys have less talented teams, and played tougher opponents during this stretch, and are on par with Peyton.

  18. Has anyone taken a look at the other RBs in the NFL?

Johnson, Mjd, spiller, Moreno, Mathews,DMC, rice, bell, Richardson, Wilson, McCoy, Ingram,Sjax, Williams/Stewart, Martin, forte, lacy, bush, ap, lynch, gore, mendenhall are all 1st or 2nd rd picks.

23 of 32 teams in the NFL start a running back drafted within the first 64 picks of the draft.

It would be awesome to find an Arian Foster off the ww. Or be a mike Shanahan RB, like Morris.....but odd are against it.

The teams that don't have a high pick RB are Miami NE Cincy Cleve stl NYJ Hou KC etc and many of those RBs are 3rd.

  19. Its been roughly 7 years since the Colts have had a true RB (longer in IMO depending on how you view Addais first 2 years).

Years and Years of OL talk, and how our RBs have underperformed, with most of the blame falling squarely on the OL.

Now we are going to find out if it is truly the OL, or if we just didnt have the right RB.

Predict Richardsons final Colts #s this year.

    225carries, 1100yds 35rec 250yds 13 total TDs...

  20. how about the eye test? He made the best LT in the league look like a rookie in the first game of the season.

Really? Because they attempted 45 passes, and scored 24pts when everyone in the world knew they were throwing.

Heres a simple eye test for everyone.....The Chargers have had 82 pass att against them. Dwight has .5 sack, and 1 tackle assist.....The Colts have had 63 pass att against them, and Mathis has 3 sacks, a FF, and 8 tackles......

Im sure neither one was on the field for every single attempt, but Im willing to bet Mathis had less attempts than Freeney, and has posted better results.....
