  1. When I watch the Denver games it seems like Decker drops half the passes thrown his way. He is average at best. Demaryius Thomas is good but I think that if an average QB was throwing him the ball he would not get the same love that he does.

Is he having an 'off' year? Sure. He's not a world beater like say Calvin or AJ, but the guy is a pretty solid WR, and alot of teams would be thrilled to have him as a 2, some even as a 1, and this is a guy who is 3rd, or arguably 4th on his own team. I imagine it is hard for him to find a groove this year.

As for DT, I think your selling this guy short. He is a fantastic WR, in line with a guy like Dez, who can score at any moment. How many screens has he taken to the house this year? 3 4? That in itself is pretty amazing.

It just seems like your willing to throw a pretty awesome offensive team under the bus in order to prop up Manning, which is something Manning (and Colts) fans have done for YEARS, and frankly it is not needed. Manning can get by on his own amazing merits. There is zero need to degrade his teammates in an effort to make him look even better, not only is it simply incorrect, but its fairly ignorant.

  2. Was Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas looked at as elite receivers 2 years ago when Tim Tebow was throwing them the ball?

Well to be fair it was Thomas 2nd yr, dealing with injuries, as he did the year before. He was a 1st rd pick.

And yes, Decker did fairly excellent year all things considered. It was his 2nd year, and he was catching passes from 2 QBs who havent started a game in 2 years.

  3. As it stands now, it seems like Peyton has the MVP locked up. But what will it take to be ripped away from him? Who are some of the guys who can catch him? Would Peyton sitting the final 2 games endanger his chances?

Could Brees rip it away finishing 2nd in the NFC? Could Calvin Johnson finally get one if he continues his pace? Could Brady sneak in after a slow start, with a surging Patriots team?

Can anything take it away from him?

  4. >counting wins as a QB statistic

    lulz

    Not entirely.

Merely pointing out those wins are with entirely different personal, over a decades worth of time. The sample size is fairly large, with an infinite # of personnel differences....

If you can't count wins for a QB, counting anything a QB does is pointless.....How can you not count wins, but count stats? How can you not count wins, but count coaches? How can you count stats, but not wins?

  5. Over a decades worth of time. With different types of teams, different teams altogether in Peytons instance, different defenses, different O Cords/D Cords, different STs etc etc, we have a pretty clear idea how this is played out....

There have been 3 consistent people. Peyton, Brady, Belicheck.

    The simple facts are:

Brady has higher win %, better in cold/outside games, been to and won more SBs, currently (prob not much longer) has the TD record, has 16-0 season, and now has a 10-4 'head to head' record vs Peyton led teams, and the 2 are neck and neck in per game statistics...

  6. I dont care about injuries. 3 of the last 4 of the teams we have played lost there QB, the most important person, and they torched us.....

We have given up 162pts (or a little over 32pts a game) to Kellen Clemens, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Case Keenum, Carson Palmer, and Peyton Manning.....One of these is not like the others....

  7. Good stuff

Rice will always be the GoAT to everyone. And I am a Moss guy, and will defend him every chance I get.

That being said, Calvin Johnson is working his way into the conversation. The fact that it is even a conversation is something special.

Detroit has it figured out. They realize "Hey this is the most talented guy on the field, we have to throw it to him atleast 15x a game"....regardless of matchups, or how the game is going Calvin gets his. And not every team does that with the best player on the field.

Calvin- no less than 8 targets in a game...Averages 12 targets a game

Dez- 3 games of less than 8...8 targets on average

Demaryius 3 games less than 8....9 targets on average

AJ Green- 2 games less than 8....11 targets on average

  8. Over a decade of mediocrity (or worse) of fan support. Team finally does well, and the fans begin to have expectations, then the team completely implodes, and the fans are upset. And rightfully so.

Maybe the Texan players should keep there mouths shut and be thankful they have fans in the first place. With the poo they are putting on the field this yr they should be more worried about themselves, than addressing the fans....

  9. Calvin with another MONSTER performance of 179yds.. This guy is just unreal.

59rec/1,083yds/11TDs in EIGHT games......This guy is just incredible.

Say what you want about him v Rice. Raw #s, different eras, QBs/Teams etc.

But my personal preference is to compare them to the players of the era. Which is why I feel Don Hutson is the greatest of all time.

That being said, first 7 seasons, not listing outside top 10

    JR- Yards  1st, 2nd, 2nd 1st, 1st, 3rd

    CJ- Yards 5th 9th 1st 1st

    JR-Rec 2nd, 4th, 5th, 1st, 7th

    CJ-Rec 4th, 1st

    JR-TDs 1st 1st 5th 1st 1st 1st

    CJ- TDs 1st, 2nd, 2nd

    JR Totals: 526rec/9072yds/93TDs....in 108 games

    CJ Totals: 547rec/8919/yds/65TDs...in 101 games
