  1. Before I start with my mock let me say - and I mentioned that before in several post - that it is impossible to fill all holes with one draft or fill the holes all with adequate talent. So it will take at least one or two more drafts to build the monster. I expect the team to play better this year than last but we will still struggle and although I become a Colts fan because of Peyton Manning I'm fine with that. I'm still a Colt and always will be, what we need now is patience and I hope we all don't panic if it takes some time for this team to grow over the coming years. But now that's my final mock:

Round 1 (1): Andrew Luck QB (Stanford)

Round 2 (34): Kevin Zeitler OG (Wisconsin)

If Colby Fleener or Stephen Hill should be around I would take one of them, but I expect that both will be gone so I go with Kevin Zeitler here. Although we signed some veterans via free agency to improve our O-line we could still use some young talent and protecting Andrew Luck should be a priority. I know a lot of people would like Janoris Jenkins with that pick (if he is around) and I know that he is very talented but I doubt that he can stay out of trouble for a long time. But if the Colts should take him I trust the judgement of Grigson and Pagano. So the 2nd round pick was kind of tough for me ;-)

Round 3 (64): Brian Quick WR (Appalachian State)

Round 4 (97): Josh Norman CB (Coastal Carolina)

    Round 5 (136): Nicolas Jean-Baptiste DT (Baylor)

Round 5 (170): T.Y. Hilton WR (Florida International)

Round 6 (206): James Hanna TE (Oklahoma)

    Round 7 (208): Tavon Wilson S (Illinois)

Round 7 (214): Noah Keller LB (Ohio)

Round 7 (253): Ryan Van Bergen DE (Michigan)

  2. It's nearly impossible to fill all the holes on our roster with one draft. I think we should draft a NT in the mid rounds like Nicolas Jean-Baptiste from Baylor and then draft another NT in next years draft with our 1st or 2nd round pick. In my opinion our priority should be the Offense in this years draft. We need protection and some weapons for Andrew. We have an aging Reggie Wayne, Austin Collie, a questionmark called Donnie Avery and some unknown guys as Receivers and with Brody Eldridge only one blocking TE. That's not much. Maybe a guy like Baptiste turns out great and if not we still can draft a NT high next year, we will struggle anyway this year with alle the holes and rebuilding.

  3. We need some weapons for Luck! We only have Wayne, Collie, Avery (an behind him is a big questionmark) and nearly nothing on the TE position. I know that NT is a position of need, but moving back and giving up some quality picks would be a dumb move with so many holes to fill. I think we should draft Nicolas Jean-Baptiste from Baylor or Akiem Nicks in the middle to late rounds, together with veteran McKinney we have some NT to work with with and draft a long term solution for the NT position next year with our 1st or 2nd round pick. There should be some good NT available next year.

  4. There are two guys I want with our 2nd round pick: Coby Fleener or Stephen Hill. And because I want them, we probably end with someone other :-) I highly doubt that Fleener or Hill will be around, but getting one of them would be great. WIth McKinney signed I think we will draft another NT in the mid rounds, TE class isn't very deep so if Fleener is gone we will draft a guy like Hanna later. I think we should draft a WR with our second pick, probably trade down a bit in the second round an get another pick. CB maybe in the third (Josh Norman).

  5. WR

We have Reggie Wayne and Austin Collie as only reliable options at the WR position. Blair White, Donnie Avery, Jeremy Ross, Jarred Fayson are all competitors for the 4-5th spot. Also injuries are a concern and would blow a big hole in our receiving corp. So we definitely have to draft 1-2 WR in this years draft. It would be nice to get Stephen Hill with our 2nd round pick if he falls. Also Brian Quick looks good in the mid rounds. The WR class is deep so we should get two got prospects.

    TE

We only have Brody Eldridge on our roster and his strength is blocking not receiving. Coby Fleener would be nice but he is projected to go in the first round especially after his great perfomances at the combine and his pro day. The TE class isn't very deep but there are some interesting prospects in the mid to late rounds like James Hanna from Oklahoma. A veteran TE would be nice too and I wouldn't mind if we resign Dallas Clark for a reasonable price.

    DT

Colts need a NT and at some point they will address the position at the draft. I would be fine with Nicolas Jean-Baptiste or Akiem Hicks in the mid rounds and a veteran DT. Probably not a long term solution but with so many holes we can't fill all position with 1 or 2nd round talent.

    CB

Jerraud Powers is solid. Both Rucker and Thomas showed some promise but we need some help and the CB class is deep so we should get prospect even in the mid rounds.

I'm a bit torn because we could use all picks on our defense but also need some weapons and protection for Mr. Luck. As i mentioned before we can't address all holes adequate.

  6. You seriously expect our 7th round pick to be a starter? I would be fine with the Colts giving up a 6th or 7th round pick.

It's a waste giving up a draft pick for a back up qb that the jets would have released anyway. and by the way Antoine Bethea for example was drafted in the 6th round so you never know what you could get. but thats just my two cents. and no i don't expect a pro bowler with that pick.

  7. I don't like this discussion! Both Luck and Griffin are great QB prospects and I think both will have great years in the NFL. But i prefer Luck over Griffin because I like the style he plays football. I think it's simple a question which style you prefer and this is why the Colts will take Andrew Luck.

  8. With Dallas Clark released and probably joining the Broncos now, Jacob Tamme a free agent that draws some interest from Seattle, the Colts only TE on the roster right now is Brody Eldridge! TE is a big hole to fill. Coby Fleener would be an option but is probably gone at the end of the first round, the TE class this year isn't very deep and good free agent prospects are rare. So, what about James Hanna from Oklahoma? He is 6'4 252lb projected round 4 - 6. He impressed at the Combine, was the fastest TE with 4.49 in the 40yd dash, also with top ten rankings in the three-cone drill (6.76 seconds) and bench press (24 reps). Probably not a pro bowler but could be a nice steal in the mid to later rounds. Here are some highlights (I know highlights always looks good but I didn't found any other video material)
