  1. Reds lose 11-1 and are now hitting a MLB low .210… that’s right. The Reds are hitting worse than the White Sox. Absolute garbage. And worse of all, the players look like they don’t care. Something has gone terribly wrong in the dugout the last few weeks.
  2. Don’t jinx it!
  3. Its time to panic. The schedule is as follows: Diamondbacks Giants Diamondbacks Dodgers Padres Dodgers We historically have absolutely sucked against all of those teams. I think the Reds will be lucky to get 3 wins over the next 3-4 weeks. Cubs on the other hand looking like kings. But they’re also owned by someone who actually cares.
  4. Reds getting their * handed. About to go 2-8 last 10 games… looks like the Reds and Pirates will be battling for the bottom of the division… Again… Damn this is getting old.
  5. Perhaps he’s more of a Marshawn Lynch type. Just doesn’t like talking with media. I’m not sure I’d like it either.
  6. Agreed. There’s 0 reason to rush him.
  7. Welcome to the forum!
  8. The Knicks… God I can’t stand ‘em. Hoping for an upset that shuts the fans and Spike Lee up.
  9. July 20th is gonna be interesting. Tyson is currently a +150 underdog.
  10. Sets the edge, stops the run. I’m glad we picked up the option. Paye, Latu, Buck, Stewart and a strong rotation mixed in. They gotta play the game still of course but this is probably the best line we’ve had in a few years.
  11. I think we can give Stafford a little bit of credit. He's a fantastic QB. I think the QB-WR relationship is far more complex than many give credit. They both need each other to do the job well in order for the other to succeed. Johnson, Kupp, Nacua. All 1,000 yard receivers. All played with Stafford. He knows how to get his star receivers the ball and put them into a position to succeed (YAC). It's why I was really wanting him to come to Indy years ago.
  12. I have to say, I do agree that a lot of GMs are on a similar level as far as skill and talent. That's how they got to where they are. Some will be more inexperienced than others, some are more aggressive while others are passive. I think there are a lot of varying philosophies on running an NFL team compared to running a normal business. I don't think everyone's board is the same. I'm sure there are some overlap especially at the top. But in the middle I would imagine it's far more varied. There's only so many scouts, so many days and hours, and thousands of players to evaluate. They aren't going to catch them all. But, I will say there is always going to be some luck and chance probability involved when it comes to the draft. That's just a truth in life itself.
  13. Would you go as far to say that ownership can be the main wildcard for teams deviating from expectations?
  14. Am I understanding you correctly that you feel all GMs are not really that valuable? That essentially anyone can do the job?
  15. His route running tape is eye opening for sure.
  16. Latu with that relentless motor will eventually wear down a QB. Even if they don't get home every time, just the presence alone from this front 4 should be something.
  17. Seemed pretty grateful on the phone call with Ballard. I know it's probably edited but he seems pretty happy to be a Colt. If I were a wide receiver I'd love to have Reggie Wayne teaching me!
  18. Disagree. He'll forever remember all the other teams that passed on him. He's a smart kid, and will use that as extra motivation.
  19. What an awesome behind the scenes look. I just love Charlie Partridge, so happy he's on our staff. He's going to be such an influence for Latu, I'm telling you guys. And Mitchell is going to do well working and learning from Reggie and Michael Pittman. Those two know how to bring the attitude to the field and turn it into fuel and efficiency. A little sad to not see Jim there. I know it must be killing him to not be with his beloved team. The daughters seem very genuine and eager to step into leadership though.
  20. For what it’s worth: there are videos of a younger Chris Ballard ranting and cursing about college players getting anonymous negative reports. He really gets heated on that subject.
  21. That's what I was saying. Ballard wasn't going to say anything other than defending his choices and defending his new players. To me, coachspeak and GM speak is pretty similar. Take a look at the Falcons GM's pressers.
  22. In reality all GMs do this. It's just how it is when working with the press. The last thing they want to do is paint their shiny new prospect in the negative. So it's easy to sit there on the mic and say "we really like this guy, we're really lucky he fell to us". And psychologically? It usually works.
  23. The one part that I disagree with is appeasing the fanbase. I don't think he honestly cares about our opinions. Specifically on this website which represents a tiny fraction minority of the fans. If he thinks the corner room is fine (which it seems like he does) then we may find that who we have is who we get. Which is why I think this will be a common complaint throughout the season.
