Sounds like they referenced Houston's deal the Chiefs gave him way back when.

Not only that but their projected trade between the Panthers and Cincy of Cam Newton.... a 2020 2nd rounder.... and a 2021 1st and 3rd rounder for the #1 overall from the Bengals is laughable.

If that trade is possible, I’d offer the Bengals the rights to Andrew Luck, JB, our 2nd pick in the 2nd rd this year and a 2nd rd next year. I’d also offer them a dinner for 4, once a month at Ruth Chris steak house for a year lol. I mean if that wouldn’t seal the deal idk lol.

I think he needs to find a stud DT in either the draft or FA.  But yes, the rest will be skill position offensive players, IMO.  Probably including QB.

We have Leonard, Okereke, Turay, Ben, Rock, Tell, and Willis.  All are guys that Ballard isn't going to replace just yet by investing good capital in those positions this year.  Come draft time, if BPA is at one of those positions, he'll probably try to trade down, IMO.

I can agree with you that we have to get the DT spot fixed one way or the other and I personally don’t care if it’s our first draft pick or best FA DT on the board that fits our scheme. If we don’t fix that space, our defense is not going to hold scoring teams enough at bay and getting avg to above avg play from our QB will not be adequate enough. Prime Manning and Harrison and Edge ain’t coming back nor is Luck so I say we resolve the defense first as we look to improve the QB spot and develop it.

and for the love of god, can we use more power scheme blocking for our offensive line and less zone type crap. We have a few maulers, let’s use that to run over people.

He's been playing more 3-4 DE, but he's athletic enough to play anywhere on a 4-3 line. Lynch really is a great player.

If we picked up Javon Hargrave from the Steelers, drafted Lynch, and brought in Brentson Buckner as the D-line coach I think we could run a hybrid 4-3/3-4 like the 49ers.

Are we even rumored to be looking at Buckner?

  4. It’s really hard to say because the only DT that seems worthy of a top 13 pick would be Brown. Kinlaw sounds pretty good as well but he has more ceiling to get reach where Brown is there now to plug and start, from everything I’ve seen posted about him. So, if it were between Kinlaw and Love or Hebert, I’d think I’d seriously have to strongly consider the best fit for the Colts at 13 of those two. Hope Kinlaw falls to 34 or even look at Gallimore. I’m just not sure what the drop off in play/potential for the three top DT’s.  I just know we definitely have to have a DT to make this defense work right. Without an above average to a superior DT, it’s almost pointless to keep wasting assets on the D side imho. Yes, we also must have better play from the QB spot in whatever way we go there but if it’s not there, look at next year.

That guy is such a loser. While his podcast is ok he threatens people in DM on twitter if you disagree with his tweets. He has done it to so many people.

He threatens people, like in what way? Is he going to come after you at your house or something? I’ll never be afraid of someone on the internet sending me a private message for anything. I’d be curious to know in what ways does this guy threaten anyone?

I listen to them purely on youtube. No idea about apps with them.

I just went to the YouTube app to see what’s available but I couldn’t tell which pod was the latest. In the Apple Pods app, it’s been awhile since their last pod was posted. Kevin Bowen has his updated weekly on the podcast app. Not sure why they wouldn’t have it listed to a pod app and only on YouTube. Idk, maybe the tech stuff just gets past me.

  7. My favorite has been Kevin Bowen as well. He seem to keep up several  pods during the season. Not sure if any of them are overly active during the offseason other than hit and miss around events that effect the colts and football in general. Bowen says they will try and get 1 pod in a week on the Colts stuff. I know he also does Pacers too but I’m not a basketball guy so I don’t listen to that part.

Pretty clear iDL is #1. DE edges out CB for #2, but the top 3 are clear as day.

    iDL

    DE

    CB

    FS

    SS

    MIKE/Nickel/SAM

    Posit   1     2     3
    iDL     76   16    10
    DE       6    35    21
    CB       0    29    38
    FS        0    2      5
    SS        0    0      3
    MIKE    0    0      2
    Nickel   0    0     2
    SAM     0     0     1

I can’t imagine the team not seeing the same things. Problem is, we need a qb, maybe a OT and then the aforementioned pieces. I think we have the WR’s to get by but would mind another choice there as well given we correct these areas.

I went iDL, CB, and DE.

Honestly not sure we need a CB if we improve the pass rush. I think a legit inside rusher like Kinlaw would translate into the DBs looking night and day better. Not sold on Banogu just yet, and we only have Houston locked up for 1 more year.

My take on people who think cb is an issue over the line and rusher think a new CB can just intercept balls right and left without being pressured. 1. Scheme 2. Inside pressure and 3. outside pressure affect the cb play way more than a generational talent at cb will. Don’t get me wrong, a Deon Sanders type would be tremendous here and help a lot but getting pressure does more in a defense than 1 single cb does imho.

  10. My 13 y/o daughter has picked Texans to win and I took KC at the. Start of the game. She doesn’t watch football and barely knows anything about it but she picked the correct teams yesterday and it’s looking kinda concerning today so far. She is at least having fun with it.

But wasn't the reason McDaniels stayed with NE in the first place is because Kraft sort of told him that he would be the successor to BB?

With all of the talk about McDaniels now being thought of as a HC, I'm not sure why anything has really changed.

I honestly hope teams keep interviewing this weasel and stomping on his heart. Then I hope he takes over the pats and they have failure for 20+ years

The jury is still out on Reich. He failed to get us in the playoffs and got out coach alot, doesn't help with a mediocre QB either.

This just goes to show you, a decent coach with a decent team can do decent things. Any one of these things that are above avg with the other being decent can succeed. Just look at NE, nobody can tell if it’s BB or TB that makes the team great over the years. I suggest it’s both clicking together well. You have to find yin/yang  to really succeed in this league long term. Pats had that (and some cheating). Colts had AL with Pagano, one was very good one was not. We had Reich with Luck (good) and Reich with JB (bad).
