Yep, according to Pep, being down by 6 early in the 3rd equals down by 21 with 5 minutes to play. He can't tell the difference between the two. This is why I called for Pep to be fired after the Jets game.
He's too quick to abandon the run. And he was too quick to abandon the short passing game for the longer passing game.
I thought he called an excellent first half. Only 2 or 3 calls I didn't like.
But the 2nd half was more of what didn't work against Buffalo and the NY Jets.
Very frustrating and disappointing. But that's Pep.
The Colts deserve and need a better OC.
-
50 yd bombs every play in the 2nd half tend to do that. And where did the run game go?
-
Did they fire harbaugh?
Didn't say they did.
-
I like the team we have. I think Grigs has done a good job.
Pagano...meh.
Pep sucks *!
-
When was the last time firing coaches mid season was a successful move?
Baltimore Ravens ring a bell?
-
No one is getting fired
That's unfortunate.

Who comes up with the ball is irrelevant for reviews. They review to see if there is a recovery before it gets to a pile. If they can't tell then they won't overturn.
Except you could tell. The ball was laying next to the Pats player when Moncrief snatched it up. I wonder if they even looked at that view?

This coaching staff is not up to the challenge of the NFL. Pee wee is more their speed.
-
The thing that * me off is that we have the talent to be a good team. The coaching staff we have couldn't cut it in pee wee football.
-
Why the he11 are they going down field on every play now? Are they incapable of learning?
-
That play shows that this team has no chance this year. They need to just throw in the towel and lose every game for the rest of the season.
-
Whoever called that play needs to fired first thing tomorrow morning. Check that, they should be be escorted out of the building right now. That was embarrassing, and on national tv! Discusting!
-
I'm glad their o-line are allowed to tackle our guys.
-
Well, they're back to throwing 40 yd bombs every play.
-
They played tyrod Taylor and Blake bortis last time I checked they both looked like joe Montana against us
Well, the good news is if they make them look like Joe Montana then it can't get worse right?

1st the Cubs...now the Colts...
Colts 35
Pats 17

To the bolded, none of that bothers me.
- There is nothing wrong with guns, just the opposite in fact, if more people owned and carried guns legally there would be far fewer mass shootings.
- Strippers are not something I indulge in (especially since I got married) and I wish those girls had more pride in themselves so they didn't think they had to act like that but if you condemn a video for having strippers in it, you would have to condemn: most rap videos, just about all 80's hair band videos, most modern country music videos, circ de soleil, the majority of disney teen movies and 90% of the shows on ABC.
- As to the comments about Brady's wife, she's a fashion model (basically a highly paid, more respectable stripper), if she gets offended at guys looking at her then she should not be a fashion model.
Speaks the truth!

Pags having Andrew has helped cover up a lot of mistakes as well. No way we go 11-5 3 years in a row without him as QB. We wouldn't even have been .500.
You can't prove that. What we can prove is that the Colts are 1.000 without Luck as QB.
-
I still see it as playcalling. Luck is waiting for a ton of deep routes to develop, and constantly getting blasted. Most of those times I seldom see anyone in the flat or 5 yards up field. Our pass plays are simply looking for it to open up deep. And we're putting ourselves in predictable situations for the defense.
2-3 step drops and get the ball out. If we start doing that and getting any sort of gains on those plays, we'll take a TON of pressure off of Luck.
I agree. Yeah, Grigs has not been able to field a good offensive line but if Pags is really taking shots at Grigs with his comments then it shows he is aware of the personnel issues and is either unable to get the correct plays called that would help the o-line or that he is unwilling to get the correct plays called. Either way...

I will say the idea that Luck will be a Colt for life isn't quite feasible. Manning, Elway, Montana, Favre, and I am sure I am leaving out a number of others. Those guys were all top talents that were true franchise quarterbacks. All played their twilight years for different franchises. I'd say it is remotely possible that the Colts enter a down turn and want to start over with a full rebuild in 10-15 years. It is also possible another team is on the upswing but missing a talented franchise QB, if even for just 1 or 2 years.
That said, in the next 5-10 years? HIGHLY, HIGHLY,HIGHLY unlikely unless some team gives up a king's ransom to get him. I'd think a minimum of 3-4 1st round picks for the next 3-4 years.
Elway was on track to become one of the best to never win a SuperBowl but then Terrell Davis happened and Elway won two SuperBowls in a row to finish off his career. Elway only played for the Broncos.

I don't see how anyone can say it's a foregone conclusion that Luck re-signs with the Colts. Players can, and do, force trades. Eli Manning comes immediately to mind. The Colts can franchise Luck, and Andrew could refuse to honor it.
I'm sure Luck is acutely aware that Manning was only able to win one Superbowl with the Colts. This organization doesn't always act like it knows what it's doing.
The Packers have had damn near 30 yrs of future HOF quarterbacks with only 2 SuperBowl wins to show for it. Aaron Rodgers led the league in hits/sacks for a couple of years...had multiple concussions...I wonder if he was/is planning on ditching town at his first chance.

"Under contract" is meaningless? Try telling that to the NFL.
Tell that to Kam Chancellor who is coming back to Seattle this week.
Let's assume for discussion sake that Luck hates Irsay and Pagano and Grigson. His choices are these. To play for the Colts for the remainder of his rookie deal and then the Colts can Franchise Tag him for three more years. That would keep Luck with Indy through the 2019 season.
After that, he's an unrestricted free agent.
OR..........
He could hold out at some point and try to force Indy's hand.
OR.........
He could retire.
Those are his options.

BINGO!
Exactly...
The coaches should have approached the Jets game like this....all week in practice they should have told the team "NO PASSES OVER 10 YDS"! Seriously, every pass play sgould be under 10 yds until things opened up. What is so hard about that?
I think Dorsett would do great in an Edelman type of role. Why not?

Win next 3 then compete with Pats. You don't have to beat the Pats to prove you're good...just be competitive.
Unless the playcalling/coaching improves, we won't be seeing any of the above.

Peyton Manning - 4 Super Bowl appearances in the last 10 years with two different teams and 4 different head coaches. Also is 3-1 vs Pats in AFC Championship games(hasn't lost an AFC championship game against Pats since what, 2003/2004?...can't remember) and has a winning playoff record against Brady/Belichick. Yeah, what a loser!
