Sorry, I don’t know who he is?   Way too early for me.   What position and who does he play for?

He plays at LSU and is a DT. Look him up. Again he needs to stay healthy in the pros. Would be nice learning from Buckner. Come back here after you’ve taken a look and please let me know what you think.

    For me…..

    1.   DL

    2.   WR

    3.   IOL

    4.   CB

    5.    LB

    6.    DB

    7.     RB

I believe Ballard will attempt to do in the 24 draft that he did in the 23 draft.  Lots of trading down and acquiring more picks.

Maason Smith I hope is available. A Ballard special because he’s coming off an ACL tear.

Basically a few times in every game Minshew hurt his chances of ever being a starter in the NFL last night. Played an awful game.

He missed that while playing in Jacksonville. He is what we thought he was. I’m not mad at him at all.

It for 3 years 18 million like his agent is suggesting.

Even 18 is too much. That’s too much money at the RB position. Would rather draft a RB

Secondary is the very first need.

Yep been saying it and getting called crazy for it. But I don’t trust Ballard to pick the right players

For once today, we agree. Haha if he wasn’t the highest paid kicker, I could look past the misses, most of which happened over the last three weeks with a known hip injury. But with him being the highest paid, he needs to be making better than 75 percent of his kicks. He should be in the 90 percent range or higher

Yeah should be 90% and I pointed this. People kept saying it was the baby like he actually gave birth to it and not his wife. Being tired or whatever excuse people are trying to use isn’t cutting it lol

I think Ballard will get a pass due to the fact that his QB1 missed the majority of this season, and his QB2 & rookie HC led us to the cusp of a postseason berth.

Absolutely said this at the beginning of the season. If we won more than 5 games his job was safe.

I’m resigning Moore, Grover and Pitt. Maybe Moss. The rest can walk.

and we need to fire the kicker

Gay has the 2nd most misses of FG kicker this season and people are trying to look at you funny. He needs to go

Josh Downs says hi and since Reggie Wayne has only been here for two years and only really had two draft picks to work with I think that would be a little premature, also there is lots of evidence to show Pierce’s problem is more them not going to him when he’s open.  I’ve been very out spoken about Pierce but I have to admit the past two weeks Matt Ryan and Troy Aikman did a really good job spot lighting how the Colts weren’t using Pierce and it’s causing me to rethink my stance.

Yes Pierce has been open, but we aren’t throwing it to him.

So basically we need an entirely new team?   And trade our best D player?

Please don’t apply for a job with the Colts.

There are 53 spot on a roster last time I checked. The position I’ve listed are in fact team needs. Everyone in this thread has listed similar needs. So yes I will apply for a job with the Colts and get it

Rock was playing his best football when the Colts traded him away.

Had a good game followed by a not so good game and people wanted him gone. Went to play a scheme that fit him best and has been playing well

My thoughts on Ballard, overall direction of this franchise...

    - To me, the credit for going from 4 wins in 2022 to 9 this year goes mostly to a having a largely unimposing schedule, having fresh ideas, schemes with our offense, better play calling, more competent QB play (the bar was set pretty low last year), improved O-line play.  Very little reflects on Ballard and his 7 years of "delayed gratification" roster construction.

    - My issue Ballard's overall roster construction philosophy is that he continues to make (or not make) moves, save assets planning for a future that never comes into fruition.  In reality, IMO, the way the modern NFL roster rules are constructed with salary cap, draft, etc, it really is a year to year league.  What I mean by that is that the days of doing a methodical multi year build relying solely on the draft to bring in impact players are gone.  Teams have to be somewhat aggressive in filling holes that appear on a roster and adding talent (especially when its available for low cost) because that is what your competition is doing and that is how they leap frog you leaving those that dont cycling around the .500 mark or, possibly, worse and not true contenders.

    - The defense scheme needs to be revamped/Bradley needs to go.  There needs to be more blitz packages put in the playbook and mores aggressiveness that is put into the DNA of the defense.  There is no reason that the team should be in the bottom five in the league on how much they blitz when taken in context with how many points per game they were giving up.  However, I will be surprised if any substantial changes are made as this sit back, zone heavy, rely on turnovers scheme has been something that Ballard prefers and possibly may be mandating (look back at his comments regarding defensive scheme after 2016 season for reference).

    - Unfortunately, because of the AR injury, this season while entertaining and intriguing does very little to indicate whether this franchise is back on the road to contention.  The same question marks that were there going into the season will remain. The necessary invaluable game experience, teaching moments, growing pains that are realistically going to be there for AR in order for him reach his full potential are going to have to occur.  As a result, I don't it is a given that this team improves on its W-L record next year.

Bradley needs to go. I have defended him because we really do lack talent on Defense. It’s Buckner and backups. His defense can work, but you always need someone from the front 4 to get into the backfield. There really is no excuse to give up 3rd and 10+ plays regardless of personnel. That’s poor defensive play calling and coaching there. I’m pausing on AR next season because he didn’t play that much. He will be a year behind. Seeing it  is one thing and you need to be on the field to truly learn it.

Ummmm really? Rodgers was good before his gambling crap, Rock was more than serviceable. Kenny Moore is pretty good. Brents is a rookie but has flashed some very good potential.

Rodgers: Issues and didn’t see the field

    Rock: He was bad here

Kenny Moore: Drafted by Patriots and 50/50 each game

Brents: Gets cooked and looking like an injury liability

    Blackmon: Always hurt

    Thomas: Cooked

    Are you serious right now?

I’ve been patient with Ballard. I think for fans it comes down to the fear of getting someone worse than Ballard. But I think it’s time to be rid of him. If AR can stay healthy I think he’s the guy and he will save Ballards job, though. Having a QB that is good/great does a lot for your team. I think it’s pretty clear, teams without a top QB have similar to worse records than the Colts had this year. And for the love of God please let Bradley go.

Ballard saved his job this season because we’ve won more than 5 games. If we didn’t he’d for sure be fired. I’m getting sick of him being overhyped by fans though.

If you think about it, this defense needs pressure from the front 4 to be successful.

We have improved our overall sacks, but when the game is on the line, we have been chewed up by pin point passers.

I hate seeing our DEs getting handled one on one.

I hope that they resign almost all of our FAs and add

    A top DE in FA

    CB in draft

    FS in draft

    SSLB in draft

I may be in a minority here, but THIS defense CAN work, with the right players

It can work as long as someone from the front 4 can get into the backfield consistently.

We lack experience as much as talent.   This season was supposed to be very different.   We went as far as we did because Steichen (the coach everyone is complaining about) over achieved with a backup quarterback for about 75-80 percent of the season.

We come up just short tonight and now people are complaining about Steichen and Ballard.   It’s beyond silly.

This season has been a raging success.   I hope others will realize that once they have a chance to cool off.

We did overachieve and I’m mostly complaining about Ballard because it’s warranted. He knew about the secondary being bad and didn’t address it. We had to kick 3 players off the team for disciplinary issues. Still need to find a pass rusher.

We had the talent to put us in a "win & in" situation at home, but we never led at any point in this game - that's more on coaching than it is on personnel.

Coach sucked today. But he doesn’t have much to work with and we had an easy schedule. Overachieved with this roster
