  1. Peyton missed the entire off-season last time. He was off because he didn't have the repetition going in like every year. He has the entire off-season this time.

A season doesn't depend on what you did last year.

Ha, that's laughable. No player is going to go into a game and say, "it's only playing Peyton Manning."

Oh crap did someone say Peyton Manning...that scared the bjesus out of me...heck it worked against me and I'm rooting for the guy.

It's actually really simple, both teams just got a HOF QB, one proven one not, one team was a medeocre team, the other the worst team in the league, so it's the broncos.

Wait, wait a minute how can a unproven rookie be a HOFer???

    Overwhelmingly the Broncos.

With that said, I don't think the colts were the worst in the league last year, but their record designated them that. And if the broncos had an actual QB last year they would have done much better.

Peyton is, "who we thought he was" has FJC puts it "Peyton freakin Manning" the dude is a workaolic, failure isn't in his vocab. Preasom games to gel and work off the rust. Broncos 13-3

Colts however, going through a transition period, new everything pretty much. But does better then a lot of people anticipate. Luck tries to do to much becomes prone to throwing int(as Peyton did his rookie year), oline gets owned. Colts 6-10.

  2. what was given up? it's not like we gave away 3 first round picks. we just stunk this year. the main thing is unlike last year we are going to have consistence at QB this year. And don't say we gave up Manning he was going regardless of who was at one.

actually we gave up three first round picks 2 second round picks and a third....and Peyton....

    Just sayin

  3. The NFL average last year was:

    327/ 544 60.1% 3675 yards 23 td 16 int.

For what was given up to draft him, I certainly hope he's far better than the NFL average.

    Very well put...

I can say I see a high interception total, I'd say TD and picks both in the 20s, maybe 22 and 24

  4. So our football players just not supposed to do anything? Just go to practice and then come home and do nothing? Monte Reagor got hurt in a car accident a few seasons ago. Driving????? or millions of dollars????? Lets drive....

That sucks that Suggs went down. I hate to see any player get hurt.

    read above...
  5. not exactly the case. no athlete lives in a plastic bubble in the offseason. S&^t happens.

conflicting reports now...yea i bet... prolly trying to avoid that clause in his contract...

for millions of dollars, i'd live in a bubble for 4 months out a year

  6. 8 Chargers from the 94 team have passed away.

I heard this too, kinda blows my mind when I think about it...wierd.

RIP Junior, prayers to you and your family, however I must admit a very selfish act on your part...

  7. Also, if you look at the Measurments. The top 5 LB, are 6'3 average 240 pounds average. All 3-4 guys.

The Top DT are 6'2 average 325 pounds Average. top 3 can play nose Tackles.

We are going to have a pleathera of guys to choose from.

Agreed I was doing some research last night about next years talent. Plenty of OLBs to choose from, plus with so many taken this year high in the draft, maybe we could see some first round talent fall in to the second,
  8. The #1 nt/cb but ill wait till the season ends to give my final judgement.

Thinking the samething, the thing is, there supposed to be four maybe five first round talent QBs to choose from, so if we had another down year we could trade back a few spots, not to far, in a deal like the rams made, and get the lock down corner, and the game changing NT, we'd have to package both our seconds to move back in the first of course. But that's thinking way ahead.
  9. II'm willing to wait to hear more. So far, it's just the allegations of one former employee who might just be looking to pile on when the timing is good. Saints are threatening to sue ESPN.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/saints-deny-espn-report-alleging-214116095--nfl.html

Oh in the age of the media where everyone wants to be the first to break the news...I hope ESPN missed on this one, and I hope the saints take legal actions against them...maybe they would learn their lessen then.

On the other hand if this is true, it's bad for everyone involved, especially the NFL, and breese might not be signing that long term deal after all. I would also expect the hammer dropped on the saints organization.

  10. Wow didn't remember Peyton being a body builder...but hey he doesn't have to appease you Peyton haters any way(not all of you are). And as for his face, straining....ha yea right if you've ever watched a colt game you'd know thats Peytons throwing face.

I know when Iift weights I look a lot worse, he'll I've seen tennis players, pitchers, make a worse face.

Man have you seen what luck looks like throwing the ball....he must be straining too...

No noodle arm in those picks, just a 6'5", 230 lbs, laser rocket arm quarterback

    The NFL is in trouble

  11. Not sure why you're directing this at me. I sympathize with the Tebow fans and that's why I won't get involved saying anything against him. I have always been very up front here that I'm not a Colts fan. I'm a Giants fan who also loves Peyton. I have nothing against Andrew Luck and I wish him well. I don't think Irsay made the right decision, but I understand what he did. I just don't have much interest in the Colts when Peyton is not there.

Yea don't worry about frog he's a luck fan from stanford, it's actually quite funny and obvious, he knows everything Stanford....

Some people would call this being a bandwagon fan

Kinda like what they were calling people like you and I...

But I think I'll have a look see at their forum, but i most certainly can feel for the upset fans, I was rooting for the kid too. Wish they would have traded him to Jacksonville where he had a shot at starting.

  12. From the time Bob Irsay bought the franchise in 1972, until Jim Irsay took 100% ownership of the Colts in 1997, the Colts had two 10 win seasons (’75 and ’77), one 11 win season (’76), and only six playoff appearances in 25 years. Bob's teams' record was 151-229, or roughly 40%.

After Jim officially took over ownership, the team has had at least 10 wins and has made the playoffs in all but 4 years. The regular season record under JI has been 146-94, or roughly 61%, and that includes his first 2 years with 3 wins apiece, and last year. Even if you want to credit Polian, Dungy or Manning for the sudden success, Irsay deserves acknowledgement for assembling that group, and spending money to bring quality football to Indianapolis, where his dad had been too cheap to try.

I’m inclined to trust his vision and plan for this next chapter of Colts Football, in part because I don’t think people recognize just how challenging it was to take a perennial bottom feeder squad, and turn it into one of the classiest and best teams in the league. I get that people are afraid because so much is changing. I have no idea what I’ll get to see on the field this next season (although I like the moves I’m seeing so far), or in seasons after that. However, I am inclined to give Irsay credit because he’s handled what I believe was a much tougher challenge 15 years ago.

I hear people say free agents won’t want to come to Indy now because Irsay has allowed Grigson to clean house. I don’t agree, but if you think that to be the case now, how do imagine Irsay convinced players, coaches, staffers, and a great GM to come to this small market team with a long and awful history of losing and tight pockets back in 1997?

In my opinion, Jim Irsay wants this team to win more than any fan on this forum, and has consistently put his money to task to achieve that goal. I don't understand every decision he makes, but he doesn't owe me any explanation, either. Until the team reverts to some pre-1998 state of continual crappiness, I'm inclined to trust that Irsay is doing what he thinks is best for the success of the club, and to trust that he knows better than me (and the rest of you on this forum too).

I wonder how much revenue LOS and the selling of colts merchandise bring in.

I wonder if it's enough to cover all the players and employees salaries.

It just always get me when people say he's spending his money...

I guess it's true...but hes spending his money that WE gave to him, on a team that was given to him by his father...

So I hope he starts to spend OUR money a bit more wisely...

  13. Really Peyton really? I hope you know something we don't cause this is/was the worst team out of the three to choose. O-lines a big question mark and the running back is old. They made no pick ups in free agency, and have a late round draft pick. Not to mention you better tell that dang players association, and agent you don't want all that money(95 over 5yrs) 60mil in 5 yrs will do. not saying your not worth it...

I hope u know something Peyton, cause to me it looks like your going to the old colts of the AFC west...
