  1. No one knows at this point if any of the rookie QBs from last year will be any good long-term. You can only look at their play. Let's look at AR who we were told was very inexperienced.

1st Game Jacksonville who dominated us the year before. He almost led us to a win and had us in the game until the very end. FYI he did not get "hurt" in the Jacksonville game. He was hit late and had to come out for ONE play. He would have gone back in but at that point, the game was over.

2nd Game Rams (playoff team, experienced defense) He led us back from a 20-point deficit. It was pretty exciting. We lost because Shane made some questionable decisions in Overtime.

3rd Game Houston. Everyone is afraid of Houston on this forum. AR dominated them. He was injured in the game not because he was injury-prone but because he made a Rookie mistake and let up on an easy TD got lit up (another cheap shot) and got a concussion which any player would have received.

4th Game Titans. Was once again dominating the game. He suffered a season-ending injury when he was tackled. The major concern that I see is that when AR gets tackled he does not know how to fall in such a way as to protect himself. Hopefully, the Colts will work on that.

So bottom line in 4 games AR was fun to watch and a really good player. Only time will tell the final result.

  2. I do not know how to repost but there is footage on X that shows the Houston DE lining up offsides on the 4th and 1 Play. He does appear to affect the throw.  They line up offsides on several occasions.

  3. i am surprised that no one is talking about the poor coaching that Shane did on the 2 point conversion. He devised a play that called for a short pass to a wide-open Allie Cox.  Cox is not our best receiver and had already dropped an important pass. He should have handed the ball off to JT or thrown the ball to Pittman. Shane has to stop coming up with these plays to throw short passes to wide-open receivers who are not our best playmakers.

I feel as though I'm in the minority here. He was a second round pick. I'm not saying he is a bad player but i would like to see more. Much more.

What do you want Pierce to do if Minshew will not throw him the ball when he’s open?

  5. Zach Frazier WVU is really good. We could get him in the 3rd.

ProFootballFocus scouts currently have Zach Frazier ranked as the No. 2 center in the country and No. 87 player overall, putting him squarely in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. CBSSports lists Frazier as the No. 2 interior offensive lineman in the country and No. 103 player overall, putting him in the late third or early fourth round.

The three experts at ESPN - Mel Kiper Jr., Jordan Reid, and Matt Miller - all think very highly of Frazier as well. While none of the three put draft rounds on him (or any player for that matter), they all put Frazier in their top five centers in the country. Miller had him at No. 4, Kiper had him at No. 3, and Reid had him at No. 1.

How do you figure?  We scored 14 offensive points with AR in v. the Jags.

I mean we lost by 7 more this week than the first time at their stadium.

I'm not seeing what you are suggesting.

If you are not seeing it I cannot help you because the evidence is in front of you. In the first Jags game we were in the lead and should have won. Most of that is due to AR's influence on the game and this was his first game.  His play was continuing to improve.

In the Jags game we were out of that game almost immediately. We cannot score with GW and the team knows its. this affects the defense as well.

AR's affect on defenses is immense.

No the hits he took were pretty average hits. Watched Matt Ryan get drilled way worse last season and got back up.

Just a silly comment. On the concussion, he hit his head on the turf. If any player on the team has his head snapped so that it hits the turf they will get a concussion. If anyone has their shoulder driven into the ground there is a good chance of a shoulder injury. This is not injury-prone (ie an injury for no reason) these were football plays in which any player could be injured.

I agree, and have said these things before, except for the part about always being better than Richardson. That may or may not be true, only time will tell. I do hope Richardson becomes a top qb, but all I have seen to date is a top athlete with potential.

What else to you want to see? Led the team to a large lead against Houston. Led a 23-point comeback against LA. If the kicker hits a 45-yard FG we win. Had us in the lead against TN. Was what 10 for 12 for 98 yards. over 8 yards a pass play which is in the elite status.  Has only thrown 1 interception. This is as a rookie. What else do you want him to do in a short period of time?

In the Baltimore Game Minshew could only muster one TD. Aginst TN only on TD, zero passing.

Yet,  Minshew is a great QB and Richardson is underperforming? It makes no sense whatsoever unless you are looking through Rose Colored glasses.

Anyone who watched the game saw the Rams defense get lazy in the second half. They basically allowed the Colts back in this game, which has been their problem all season (thus far).

If I was the Colts Coaches this is the game where I use a long hard discussion on how to use AR moving forward.  He should be swapped out and utilized for short yardage plays only. His inaccuracy is horrendous and his unwillingness to slide will end his career quickly. He also needs to learn to read defenses. 11-25 passing, with the only completions being on single read throws says a lot. Hes not ready. Unless the Colts are looking for a high draft pick this coming year, they need to give the ball to Minshew.

A player who knows how to control the clock, manage the game and not turn the ball over, while energizing those around him. He not a “career backup” like people want to label him. He had a better rookie season than murray who won ROY with less weapons and had his career sabotaged by Jax coaches to guarantee they had TL in the following draft. Then he beat out TL and they traded him the following preseason. Irsay needs to step aside and let his coaches make their own decisions.

AR is not Fields or Hurts. Both of them won and were successful in college. AR was not. And he still cant read defenses and relies on his legs too much. Time to start Minshew and use AR for situations where his athleticism will help to win games. Otherwise the “Not For Long” league will end his career fast.

Worst post I have ever read on this forum in several years. I think I know what you are really saying.
