Could Peyton return as a GM? I think Peyton could pretty much write his own ticket, and deservedly so. It'll be interesting to see what he decides to do.

Irsay always signs the contracts. But Chuck probably feels more capable of telling Grigson to take a hike if he wants.
Yes, I'm guessing there were a few things hammered out that we are not privy to so I'll look at this as "tweaking a cylinder" instead of rebuilding the whole engine..... we'll see next year whether or not it took.

I'll take anyone that realizes that offensive lines are important. It's sad to watch your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd string quarterbacks limping around on the sidelines.

The only team in the league that knows how to tackle is the Seahawks. Every defense just dives at guys and hope they fall down
And not to hijack the thread, but I really wish someone would explain that to me. I only played through high school, but I'd be running laps until the cows came home unless I used my arms and 'wrapped them up' when making tackles. You'd think the pros would be able to do more than take a dive at some guy and hope he falls down.

What he has done with this team this year is nothing short of incredible.
Did you happen to catch the game today? It might have qualified as 'incredibly pitiful', but that's about it.

Well, if he plays I hope they give him plenty of protection and don't get him killed.

It's amazing how 1 player can have an impact on a team but Andrew does. Andrew even affects the Defense as in they have less stress to stop teams and more rest with him in on Offense.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't think a team should implode just because they lost one player; no matter who it is. I think the debacle we witnessed when Peyton was out and now this recent scenario with Luck is just evidence of bad coaching and bad front office.
Securing HOF and potential HOF quarterbacks should have provided us an opportunity to concentrate on building a well-rounded team that can soldier on when a highly talented player has to sit out.

Brady said it was the first time he was able to do the count with voice. The whole game was a silent count. I guess the 12th man (or men) were there the whole game.
The "12th man" was in the bathroom trying to see through his tears long enough to slit his wrist.

I'm not sure, but I think I just saw Pete Carroll throw the Super Bowl.... what's going on?

3 or 4?
1) Sideline
2) Endzone on FG's.
3) Blimp?
1. Sideline
2. End zone on FG
3. Cheerleader (front)
4. Cheerleader (back)

Dear Abbey,
A football game should be a pretty straight forward exercise for camera men. The whole event really only requires 3 or 4 different shots and none of them are ground angle.
So, can anyone tell me why they insist on showing ground angle shots which are virtually meaningless on a television? Did someone see this done in their favorite movie and fall in love? Do we have Fellini's grandson directing the action? What gives?

Curtis Painter.
I was wondering how far I'd have to scroll down before I saw this...

She ever gets into an elevator with Ray Rice and the NFL is going to have a serious problem on their hands.

I think this forum has become a cesspool of negativity, who cares what head they call for. There is no basis of validity....only selfish whining.
Amen.
I remember many pre-Peyton years with a team so bad that the season was effectively over after the first 5 or 6 games and a 'good year' was when there were enough other teams so much worse than the Colts that we could effectively back our way into a wild card spot.
Now, I have a team that has dominated their division for a decade, a team where a playoff spot is practically a given, and a team that has managed to replace a HOF quarterback with a youngster that is potentially of the same caliber. Panicking over a 1-2 start or a few set-backs reminds me of a spoiled kid throwing a tantrum because he didn't get a pony for his birthday.

Words! Do it on the field.
Exactly, those messages are just the same old stuff that everyone learned to say back in little league and have been repeating ever since. Talk is cheap; catch the ball, make the tackle, sack the quarterback; if you can't do these things nothing you say matters.
-
Read Johnny Unitas when I was a kid and thought he was the greatest quarterback that ever stepped on the field. I've been a Colts fan ever since, which makes me another of the Baltimore transfers.

Really? I was hoping that Andrew was gonna say something in German for Rosetta Stone foreign language training software ...
That would have been a good endorsement for Peyton. They could have shown a bunch of confused defensive players listening to Rosetta Stone's Peyton Manning tapes trying to learn what the heck he was saying at the line of scrimmage.

Police say they recovered the car nearby and arrested Lefeged as he tried to run away.
Now this "running away" thing is really killing me.
It's killing me too. Cut Lefeged and sign the cop that ran him down.

Has any mock draft taken at any time in any year ever been correct?
The problem with any process whether it is a mock NFL draft, an investment choice, or anything else is that once you start mixing in a lot of 'expert' opinions you end up with something my people like to call FUBAR. Of course, this is only my (expert ) opinion.

I knew I shouldn't have watched that video; Peyton in San Diego, Leaf in Indy - I haven't been that scared since the first time I saw the Exorcist.
-
Lol, he wasn't involved. He just witnessed the car chase and almost got in an accident because of it.
Oh good, I saw the title of this thread and all I could do was roll my eyes and think "freakin' kickers"

...and the hail mary drop in the end zone in the AFC Championship against the Steelers....
Two or three times a year I still wake up screaming over that play.

Rather have my QB to have no rhythm then try to bust out with some moves and tear a ACL
Amen, I want to keep him around for awhile. Run out of bounds, slide, do what you have to do to live and fight on the next down.

manning gave that game away
I wouldn't say that; I think there was plenty of blame to go around, but after watching that game I do think moving on to Luck was the correct decision. I don't know if it's just me, but Peyton really doesn't seem to have the same zip on his throws; that's a pretty subjective thing to say and maybe it was just a bad game or the cold weather, but I think Peyton's age might be starting to show.

I always find it amusing that people like Kaepernick will paint the USA as an evil country, but they sure don't seem to want to leave and they sure don't seem to mind taking the currency.
