I didn't see the play, but it is full legal for a defender to grab/jam/hold a receiver within the first 5 yards beyond the  line of scrimmage.  That means a defender could do that until Doyle reached the 3 (if the LOS was the 8).

Not if ball is in the air you can’t.

We have been in almost every game this year, we are not as bad as many are making us out to be, the Titans are coming off a tough loss and fighting for the division though I expect them to show uo bigtime.

Not the Jags game. We got hammered. Nor the Rams

The Colts were not to eager to resign him. I'm sure he felt betrayed to some degree so therefore the somewhat ill feelings for the Colts.

    Are you just guessing?

An offensive minded coach who can strategize with the best of them and play to the strength of his guys. In terms of his demeanor , I want a no nonsense coach who commands discipline but also has a bit of fire to him. Ballard has that type of personality as a GM. He’ll cut/deal people in a heartbeat and isn’t afraid to tell it like it is. A HC similar to him would mesh well.

    My top candidates are:

    -Josh McDaniels

    -David Toub

    -John Gruden

-Nick Saban (although he’s more defensive minded)

I will never understand the Gruden love. Nick Saban is 66 and has  11 Million/Yr salary.

Wonder if McDaniels has learned anything?

Deeper than us.  All depends on their QB.

Well of course they are deeper than us. % who isn’t at this point.

But losing to move up a few spots is the most asinine *ic plan a person could come up with.

Losers lose. You build a culture of winning. I don’t ever see NE picking high.

I see the Jags having one of the best defenses in the entire NFL.  Think they're 5-3 now and are a Watson away at QB from being seriously difficult to beat.

I'm not alone in my thoughts.  Just about every coach, analyst, and personnel scout out there praises that Jags defense, particularly the pass rush and secondary.

The statistics, both advanced and "traditional," back up that reality:

#3 in total defense, #1 in passing defense.

    Next question?

Because if I gave a homeless man $1m, how long would he be a millionaire?

If I gave Warren Buffet $1m, different outcome?

Picking early alone doesn't guarantee success.  You have to pick competently.  How many picks have they wasted on QB, alone, in recent years?

    Next question?

I didn't ask if they had a good defense. I asked do you see them going deep in the playoffs?

On one hand: Congrats to the team for the win.  The guys in the locker room right now deserve it.

On the other: No one ruins the chance at a good, meaningful draft like the Indianapolis Colts.  This is the recipe for staying in that perpetual 8-8 or 7-9 range.  I don't know about anybody else, but I'm willing to sacrifice some short-term pain for long-term gain.

Tried to be as balanced as possible there.

Losing begets losing. Cleveland drafts early every season. Do you really see the Jags as a deep playoff threat?

Irsay needs to give this man a blank check after the season.

    No

Not just no, but hell no!

name a rebuild John was successful with?

While I am not advocating for Luck to sit if healthy, it appears as if he is probably a month off at best?  That looks to be 2-8 or 3-7 at best.  So if he can return, please do but this team needs to look at moving players with any value that won't be part of the team next year.  Let the kids play and develop and try to grab some mid round draft picks, IF Possible?

Luck seems to be very similar to your avatar.

His handling this season? I'm still trying to figure why he didn't have the surgery when he lacerated his kidney. And these people (Luck included) seem not to be held accountable by the media.

Surgery is never the first option. Always choose rest and natural healing.
