Well, it does limit your options.

Manning never had a good run blocking line, yet didn't take as much punishment.  He made sure he got rid of the ball and he had 4 players at "wow" positions to do so because they were open quickly.

In fact our run blocking oline was so bad BB told his defense to simply ignore the run and focus on the pass.  And yet, Manning never came close to leading the league in sacks.

    Holy cow!!!

Are you arguing Manning’s superiority over the Colts current QB’s?

Mr. Obvious is that you? Want to tell us water is wet, grass is green in spring, and ice is cold?

Whatever its called "insurance" or "moving on" the colts would have solidified the most important position in sports going forward.

You’re awful high on guys who were just ok in college.

I don’t have any expectations he ever takes a snap again.

I am of the mind the Jacoby era is upon us.

At this point nothing would surprise me.

The thing about this theory though is that Toub has NEVER at any point in this whole month and a half process, start to finish been mentioned in any official capacity as being even considered for an interview, let alone a serious candidate for the job that required further discussion.

But, the last week has taught us that dismissing these kinds of rumors can be a bad idea.

And Brad Wells, for all of his (many, many, many) faults was the first to break that Peyton needed another surgery in 2011.

    Uncertainty is high these days.

    Actually it was JMV.

Sure. Irsay is a really great guy by and large.

But what’s going on on 56th street and behind the closed doors that we don’t see?

Being a good philanthropist is great, but it doesn’t mean there aren’t things going on that we don’t see that could be causing problems.

There are no rumors of any discord in the organization. There have only been three total losing seasons since Jim took over as owner.

Its a media myth that Irsay is a loose cannon all because he suffers from a disease. All indications are he doesn’t interfere with day to day operations of football.

He is paying for the funeral of the Uber driver who was killed.

Irsay said in the 2017 season finale press conference that he would pretty much rubber stamp the guy Chris Ballard chooses.

Dungy was a different situation. He was absolutely Irsay’s guy, but Polian was 100% on board too.

It’s not good management to be in the situation we are in. Chris Ballard is the manager, and even though he was duped and led the wrong way, he is partly responsible. He chose Josh McDaniels. It was his decision.

It also sounds like he was working and had contingency plans in the works.

I thought McDaniels was * from the beginning and he is doing nothing to change my mind. If I fault Ballard it isn’t because he got jilted, it’s because he wanted him in the first place.

He’s had a very public spat with Irsay in the past. I actually remember a day where he didn’t dislike us the way he does now. He wasn’t brimming with love for us, but there wasn’t the agenda against us either.

That said, however, what if there are legs to this?

If you don’t at least consider that it’s actually legitimate you’re only fooling yourself. Florio was one of the first to bring up the fact that McDaniels was having second thoughts and possibly backing out.

Now he’s giving us a specific reason and we’re just doubting him based on dislike?

    Get real.

He’s obviously getting good info on this situation, and he has been all along. Don’t dismiss this.

I really like Jim Irsay. Really, I do.

But if this doesn’t at least make you wonder about him you’re Colts colored glasses are too small and restricting the blood flow to your brain.

I have dealt with countless folks who have worked for, with, or in conjunction with Irsay over the years for various projects he supported.

I have never heard anything but kind and wonderful words for the man. He is well liked among his peers in the NFL, community, and media.

He is honest, caring, and flawed in some areas.

If McDaniels has an issue working with a Irsay, it isn’t Irsay who is the problem.

Part of interviewing someone is understanding their intentions. At the very least, Ballard failed to successfully get a good read on the situation. Other teams wanted nothing to do with McDaniels, because of his history.

Chris Ballard and our Colts were hoodwinked, and Ballard made all the decisions that led to the Colts falling for it.

I never wanted the guy in the first place. I want someone who hasn’t failed already or has had some success like Doug Marrone had in Buffalo before transforming Jax.

But it I have zero issue with how Ballard handled this. I also don’t believe for a second Irsay is letting Ballard make this decision all on his own. It was always told that we got Dungy because that’s who Jim wanted and sent Polian to get him.
