  1. Redding was already a stud. In addition to that, we got back Chapman and McKinney. We also signed Ricky Jean-Francois, Aubrayo Franklin. That allows all of our other players to fill in depth. That's a solid line. I especially like the potential of Francois.

I forgot about Ricky Jean, lets hope I'm wrong about this, but I don't expect us to be some stout run defense without a dominant player.  We might be average though.

  2. Everyone says our D-line is going to be tough, it may be, but last year it was pretty poor, and we haven't had any major signings to it. Sure we are getting Chapman back, but he hasn't done anything in the NFL yet, so lets wait and see how they play before crowning them the next great defense.

  3. I get your point. If Manning would have happened to finish with 5 SBs and every passing record available. There will be those who will say yea, but his SB run he didn't blah blah blah....

Or well he didn't blah blah blah...

But he didn't get to blah blah blah... And it's all because he didn't beat Florida.

Yeah I guess you could say that, but I wouldn't say its all because of Florida. I think the idea came up then, but there has been many quarterbacks who didn't win a national championship when they were in college, heck Andrew Luck didn't.

  4. My point was no matter what he does, or how much he wins it will never be talked about positively.

It will always be he didn't do enough. Even if he happened to do more than any other player...

My point is basically what you just said,  he has great stats, but for whatever reason, in the playoffs the team didn't do too great. Whether or not that's how you judge a Quarterback or not, thats how most do it.

  5. He won the Super Bowl. What else did you want from him...

Peyton never beat Florida, and this is where this all stems from.

Then Peyton can never win a playoff. He did that.

Well can't he win a Super Bowl. He did that.

He'll never get back. He did that.

Now it's he'll never win another. So if he does that it turns into. Well he can't tie Brady's SBs.

If he does that. Well he can't win more than Brady....

And I'm sure if he does that. Well he can't win the most Super Bowls ever.

Heck I bet if he did that it would be, well he didn't win the Super Bowl every year.

Well no duh that's what I was saying. That's what his legacy will be remembered as if he doesn't win anymore, so thanks for provoing my point even more.

  6. I don't see how beating the #1, #2, and #3 defenses in the league is terrible. Yeah, he didn't have the huge stats, but he played solid. The Ravens game 0TDs and 2INTs. But that maybe one of his best games...

    Post Super Bowl he is

191/287, 66.5%, 2183 yards, 14TDs, 6INTs with a 96.78 passer rating. These are typical Peyton numbers. The perception of his pre-Super Bowl blunders need to start being forgotten.

Granted he is only 2-5, but as Colts fans we can only really put the SB loss on him, and even then that isn't clear cut.

Peyton threw 9 pics all year that year.

  7. Neither could John Elway until his LAST TWO SEASONS ......    IN DENVER.

Perception can change on a dime.

I agree, but judged off of his past decade plus of playing he hasn't had great post seasons. Even the year they won super bowl, he was terrible, but hey I'd love for him to win one more.

  8. Yes, there indeed are exceptions to nearly every rule I agree 100% VF4. I only replied to your statement because it conveyed the false impression that only the U.S. played NFL football. Perhaps, that wasn't your original intent, but nevertheless it is the message you clearly stated. "No one else plays it, so therefore we are the best in the world. USA. USA. USA"

Hey, we all miscommunicate every now & then even me. No harm done.

I'm not mad/angry. I was saying we are the only ones playing it, which I stand by that statement, because sure Canada plays, but no one pays attention to it. Every so often you'll hear of a player who makes it to the NFL from Canada. Like Freeman from the colts, but its not like he's a super star. Sure other countries play it, but it will never be as big as American football.  Obviously the NFL Europe failed, and CFL is pretty poor as well. So sure other countries do play, but no one can mimic the popularity and skill of the USA for years to come.

  9. But that would be a No Hassle(beck) resolution........ :)

To topic...I smell more defense at 24......but will still to my guns:  BPA all the way....that is how Grigs has set this up to go!!   :colts:  :colts:

That was a joke of course. But I could see us going guard, or even wide out if the mystery guy isn't traded/signed by draft day.  We are also in the position to trade out of the pick if we wanted to.

  10. Andrew Luck's father, Oliver Luck, played in NFL Europe. Also called the World League Of American Football. WLAF existed from 1991-2007.  There were six teams in the league: five based in Germany and one in the Netherlands. Andrew Luck himself grew up in Germany. Clearly, the USA is not the only one who plays this fantastic game VF4. The NFL officially cut all ties with the WLAF on June 29, 2007.

Obviously there is an execption to every rule. Oliver Luck was a back up quarter back, Andrew looks to be great, but he also played highschool ball in America.
