Hopefully we can run the ball better this year, which would help us early if peyton is a bit rusty.
-
I think garcon has a big year,if collie stays healthy he will be in the pro bowl.Book it.
-
Just a feeling,i think he will start practicing in a week.I do not think he will play in any preseason game...though.
-
this is fun watching the patriots get better surronding tom brady with talent and we cant even get peyton a o line. colts front office is weak. ridiculus
Dude, they used a 4th rounder last year and a first and second this year.
-
Is it me or does Painter look like Jeremy Shockey?
Maybe thats part of the problem, J/k.
I think he looks like the elf who wants be a dentist in rudolph the red nose reindeer.
-
Warren Sapp?
-
Not our type of safety,he just can not run well enough.Speed is a need on our d.
-
I was just thinking that if we kept improving our o line through this coming year's draft, then we'd be able to take less hits on manning, be able to run the ball, be able to run it on third and one and keep the drive going and keep our bloody awful "d" off the field. Benefits our whole team, anyone else agree?
I think it's a matter of the last 2 years ol draft picks coming together. And hopefully quickly.

Had my eye on Feely as well. He did look polished. I also thought Rosenfels playing behind Peyton's lil bro in NY would've been a solid insurance policy.
Brace yourself,is david carr out there?
-
I thought wheeler was active, had a good hit and defended a pass well.
-
Is there a heady veteran back up qb out there?Probaly not,but feeley looked good.A guy like that who has had a little success would be perfect.I know peyton never misses a game but if he was out for 3 games and we could go 1-2 it wouldn't be devastating.I just do not think painter can win a game in a pinch.
-
Indeed. No denying Painter is awful.
/End in depth analysis.
Stay tuned i will have some more earth shattering news, such as the earth is round.
-
Hey everybody, It's Curtis Painter himself, right here on our little message board.
lol,good one.
-
Painter is not aweful he's a pretty good QB for a backup, how you gonna criticize a guy who played his first game against the number one defense then his next game in a snowy weather? This preseason Painter threw a pic then came back the next drive and brung the colts down the field to get a field goal....
Now this whole thing about no one will be able to replace peyton, peyton is a great QB but not the best. Im as die hard a colts fan as it can get but tom brady is better. We always blame the short comings of the team in the playoffs on either the defense, special teams or line but never manning... Peyton is the best REGULAR SEASON QB ever, when it comes to Post season.. ehhh idk if its pressure or what but he's not the peyton from the reg season. I think if the colts got a good QB who got some good coaching the colts would still be a team to reckon with.
we are not comparing him to peyton,he is not any good even for a back-up.He has been in the system for 3 years and yet he constantly overthrows open men.Show me where he has been good, the throw to garcon?Where is there some kind of consistency? But hey don't take the obvious from me, ask a nfl scout like bucky brooks on nfl.com.How did feely the back-up qb for the rams look?
-
Harris is a veteran who played a few snaps, not ready to make a big deal of the first preseason game.
-
lol I was actually hoping for more in-depth comment than that.
lol,he has no abilty to read a d,overthrows open receivers, makes poor decisions.
-
No denying painter is awful.

Realistically, it's pretty even between us and the Vikes as far as expectations.
The life of an NFL player is pretty short, if the money is not close who could blame him for going to the Vikes?
True, but wth peyton here he could breath life into his career, and make more money on the market next year.

This is off Rich Smith twitter page
NFL UPDATE- Reports are that TJ Houshmandzadeh would prefer to play for Indianapolis Colts, however Vikings are offering more money.
Reports are surfacing that Free Agent WR TJ Housmandzadeh could sign with either Colts/Vikings decision expected today.

Looks like he's either coming here or Minnesota
If his goal is to win then he should come here.

I will look at that when I re-watch the game.
Thanks,i am hoping this kid can contribute this year.

I didn't even know about this. I've heard a lot of talk about the spot of the kickoff being moved forward 5 yards, but I didn't know that the defenders on the kicking team could no longer take a running start. I'm surprised that hasn't been included in the conversation more. Yeah, pushing the kickoff 5 yard further downfield might discourage returns, but not allowing the defenders to have a running start could negate that and actually lead to more returns. It will be interesting to see how this plays out through the course of the season.
Was this rule put in to reduce injuries?

McNabb never won a championship. He made the Super Bowl, I think once and he lost.
Not winning a superbowl does not mean he wasn't a pretty good player.
-
I watched the first half and i thought hughes had trouble getting off blocks,he had some speed turning the corner but does he have the strength to get off blocks?
-
McNabb was/is an average QB at best. He was put into a marvelous situation in Philly (aside from fans). He just can't throw, simple as that. The guy had a career completion percentage of 59% in Philly. In the West Coast Offense. Ugh, ugly.
Yea,he stunk 5 championships. He was a non factor in the success of those teams.Stats mean jack, how many wins did he have? His career qb rating is 85.7 and td to int ratio is 230-115,pretty darn good.Average i think not.
With All This Talk About Improving Our Backup Qb Situation....

Painter knows the system, that's a positive. Negative, Painter is not a nfl caliber back-up qb.
