Yeah, that's the reason for 20,000 attendance per game in 1883 in the OLD Municipal Stadium. dayum place still had troughs for urinals in the restrooms. Baltimore voters turned down building new stadium in a referendum. Seems the Colts were not as beloved as Bob was behated...

Yes your right, but any franchise that was that inept would have trouble getting big crowds.Bob irsay was a terrible owner and they played in a outdated stadium.I think irsay wanted a new stadium and just took off for indy.On another note,would the colts have ever made it to indy if elway had not spurned them?We will never know but that sure changed that franchises future.

If Donald is given a small hole to hit, he will do well. If we continue to see the oline from the last 2-3 years, Donald will do just as he has. The big question in my mind, has Donald improved his blocking skills? Of course if the oline has improved from the last few years, his blocking skills, or lack thereof, should not be as big of an issue. I can almost guarantee you that the Colts will ride Addai in the begining until they find out what kinda line they have to make sure Peyton is protected. Addai is the best blocking back on the team and possibly top 3 in the NFL.
A good RB begins with a solid oline and the only reason Donald gets so beat up is because he was a first round pick and he has had no better stats than Addai plus his blocking is way suspect. I like what Donald has to offer but it just is so heavily dependant on the oline IMO.
no question,if brown has not improved his pass blocking he will not see as many plays.The priority is keeping the franchise off the ground.Joe does that so well.

He meant in the preseason (like this year). If you look at his stats in those early games, he played pretty well. Then tore it up the rest of the year. And that was coming off a knee surgery.

I'm not panicked about the preseason, I'm panicking about Peyton. The last time he didn't play, the Colts went 3-4 for the first 7 games, then we had a miraculous run, which probably won't happen for a long time.
Peyton has never missed a game in his career,your referring to the 3-4 start when he had knee surgery,but played.I apologize i did not read your entire post,you are correct.

Just a note looking at that draft year, there were four notable backs drafted behind him, Beenie Wells, LaSean Mcoy, Shon Green, and Javon Ringer. Mcoy is the only one who has been head and shoulders better imop.
Green has shown the potential to be pretty good,except for some minor injuries.

I would feel a lot more comfortable with Sorgi than Painter. Maybe this is something that is being thought about by the Colts brass now.
I would love for us to bring in Clausen for a late round pick, however I think another team is going to have a larger plan for him as being a starting QB. Miami makes a ton of sense for him. If he falls into the backup market then it would be a great idea to groom him behind Peyton.
Sorgi makes a lot of sense to me. I wonder how bad that shoulder injury while playing in NY really was.
My hunch is that sorgi still has shoulder problems.

I can't lable Brown just yet. But what does everyone think will determine if he is a bust or not. Does he need to rush for a set amount of yards or does he just need to play 20 downs a game and be mistake free. I personally think the later. With Carter looking to be short yardage back and Joe being the starter, what role does Brown fit is my biggest question?
Gut feeling is they will play the hot hand with the backs and that could be game to game or series to series.

I was jk. I don't think think there are alot of bandwagon fans. I think a lot of people are Manning fans and not Colt fans. Most people on this forum are like this. How can you bash all the front office and the personel, except Manning, and claim to be a Colts fan. Most people hate every move the Colts do. Then everyone says we suck without Manning. Sounds like most are Manning fans and not Colt fans, so when Manning calls it quits, do so most so called Colts fans?
I am not bashing them.I will admit i think without peyton we would be 3-13 or worse.I love the team and would still root for them.I have seen my share of 1-15 seasons and never jumped ship and will not now.

If I think we will be OK without Number 18 Get a clue? Fair enough. IF you mean being playoff contenders, then No we won't be OK, but I didn't say we would. Nor did Shakedown Street. What he was saying is that what you have seen on the field over the past 2 weeks is only partially a reflection of not having number 18. Defensive woes and special teams play obviously, have nothing to do with Manning being out. The O? only partially. The majority of the time he wouldn't be in there anyway. When manning is in there during the preseason we usually look bad too. This is mainly a function of play calling. We look bad every preseason.
If he doesn't come back early in the season we will be in trouble for those games but we won't look like we did on Friday. Thank goodness!
So your saying that we will okay without number 18?2 words Curtis Painter.Peyton makes the o-line better,he reads the d and puts us in the best possible play for success.Peyton even makes a mediocre defense better by putting us ahead and letting our pass rushers wreak havoc.This is the winning formula for us and without him were in deep crap.

I think flynn will not be traded,the pack understands a quality back-up qb is a neccessity.

Yeah our D had been lacking, but you have to realize, this is preseason WITHOUT summer OTA's and camp. Everyone will be off to a slow start. And if everyone is truly afraid of anyone in our division, wake up. Houston's secondary is still a joke, Jags don't know who their QB is, and Titans are starting with Hasselbeck, who will put up the same numbers he did in Seattle, medicore. Colts have won the South for 9 years running, and even last year with 1/2 our team on IR, we did it. Remember when Manning had knee surgery, started slow then blew up everywhere. YOU CANT STOP MANNING.
Why do some people on here always say "Bandwagon" when you state the obvious about where this team is without peyton?We are not going to root anyless for the team.
