U got me on Hill, and they traded him and won how many more have they won without it?  Kupp is not elite. It's a system they run in LA. My issue is this. I bet if u look at the teams with the greatest play off success. It's starts at the premium positions.

What do you consider a premium position? What do you consider elite at wr??   We recently used a 6th over all pick on a guard.    Btw I could find many more examples of elite or former elite receivers to win super bowls recently.  Antonio brown, gronk (TE) etc.   We won a Super Bowl with Reggie Wayne.   Having Reggie, and Marvin and all the games we won because of them should show you the importance of WR especially with a pass happy league.
Having as many weapons for our brand new Qb is huge. He needs to build his confidence now. As he goes we go.  If he starts off terrible he will lose all confidence in his game and be ruined.  I would say that’s more important than any other one player would be since qb is such a huge position.

Btw , im not saying picking wr or trading back for anyone in this draft is the smartest idea. I was just saying it would be cool and a great story that MAY just work.   Football is about entertainment most of all and it would be entertaining and a great story to see Marvin’s son grow up on the football field in front of us.

He wants to play HERE. A man can dream yeah?

Screw it; let’s go all in and give whatever we gotta give to get him. The story writes itself. Don’t over think it ballard. He belongs here. Then In a few years let’s bring in arch manning and create the new colts dynasty lol.

Franklin 64 out of 83 linebackers is very bad. Johnson dead last at NT, Rodney Thomas 90 of 99, Baker 111 of 128 all ouch.....

Exactly what I was thinking. Cut those guys immediately.
You could grab a name out of a hat full of nfl players, and the one person who’s name you grabbed will most likely play way better than these scrubs.

    WR1.

If people think this offense is going to much better with Alec Pierce running nothing but disappointment, MPJ not catching passes past the sticks, and downs getting doubled with a LBer and safety…all because we have AR then they are setting themselves up for disappointment.

This game was a typical game from the colts on offense.  Great running game, average passing game.

We need a WR who can catch passes past the sticks.  I’m sorry, love MPJ and what he does for us but catching 5 passes and avging 8yds as a WR1 is not going to cut it.  We’re picking at 17.  If we have to trade up to grab a talent like odunze then we need to do it.

after that, FS, DE, CB, TE.

What do you think the reasons are that mpj has so few yards per catch?  Seems to me it’s mostly play design. Isn’t he a free agent?  Man if we don’t sign him and have to rely on a rookie wr to be our #1, we may be in trouble real bad. Heck I wouldn’t mind signing mpj and drafting down to get the best TE in the draft or another stud WR.  Who knows maybe Ar will turn pierce into the next randy moss because he can actually throw the ball far unlike minshew.  Sucky game but good season.

  5.   The play at end was a little cutesy for my liking but the players should have completed it. They are paid more than doctors for goodness sake and can’t make a simple pitch and catch.

Also, I got to say, we better pay Pittman whatever he wants to stay because if we lose him we are looking at a 5 win team. I would love for us to get a game changing TE, or ball hawk safety.  We def need to fix our coverages.

Practice wrapping up a tackle for starters. A lot of conversions have come off screens. Our guys are simply getting beat by blocking WRs.

I totally agree. It seems like a few games ago the scouting book on colts defense came out and teams are throwing alot of screens on 3rd and long and we seem to have a very very very hard time stopping it.  We just don’t have an answer. Nothing is worse than seeing our little “fast” guys getting mauled and Bouncing off the other teams offensive linemen lol.  I dunno why tackling is so bad, I mean you have been doing this since you were 8yr old and you are in the nfl. They should basically be like robots and automatic out there for as much time and effort, not to mention the money they get paid.  Oh and On the flip slide if we run it we might get two to three yards max lol. Really frustrating but hey over all it’s been a good season.

  7. This year has been crazy. If we would have won the browns game ( we did just not officially) we would be in the top 3 if I’m not mistaken and would have beaten the number one team in the ravens.   As bad as we have looked in some of our losses we aren’t as far away as some people think.  If Richardson can be a top 10 Qb and we have one more good draft this team can seriously do some damage next year.

  8. Overall a crazy game but a win is a win. Minshew drives me nuts. He can make most of the throws you need to win but he has got to be the most anxious qb I’ve ever seen in my life.  Maybe they need to give him some Valium before the game to calm him down lol.   If he has anyone even remotely near him it’s like the computer in his brain starts malfunctioning and everything misfires. Last week he even turned around and started running the wrong way lol.
Another thing about him that drives me nuts is how he avoids any contact at all cost. Let’s say it’s 3rd down and 3 and no one is open and he sees some daylight. He will run and see a guy 5 yards ahead and instead of getting the first down and then sliding he will slide down 2 yards away from the first down or throw the ball away or worse and try and force a throw to a covered wr.    He did it once in this game. He could have gotten a first down and instead slid way behind the marker. I’m all for being careful ( especially with all the injuries to qb us colts fans have had to go through with luck and AR) but sometimes you gotta take a hit to get those important first downs.   Btw I’m grateful for minshew. As a backup things could be much worse. I just wish he could fix his flaws.

It could be better or worse with Richardson, he had good and bad stretches when he played and is assuming he was healthy the entire season.

manning would have them in the them as one of the top teams, I don’t think that’s a stretch.

luck wouldn’t have them at the manning level, but would be below the top couple teams.

That’s basically how I feel as well.

  10.  I was thinking of our current roster makeup and how it compares to past colts teams. I think our biggest problem is qb play. A great qb can make a mediocre team really good really fast. So it got me thinking. Where would this team be if we had manning , luck, and Richardson as qb instead of minshew?

I know we would have won the Cleveland game because I feel we won it anyways just not officially lol. So as of now we are 6-5.

With Richardson I feel we would be 7-4. I think overall he would improve us but some games we won he might have lost for us just making rookie mistakes.

With luck as qb I would say right now we would be 8-3.

If we had manning I think 9-2 or 10-1 is not out of the question at all. That’s how good he was.

So with that being said, I truly don’t think this roster is as far away as many think. I think we are a good qb away from truly being a team that other teams fear aka KC or PHilly.   What do you guys think our record would be if we had one of those 3 as qb??

  11. That mic d up video was awesome. I couldn’t tell if that was steichen or a coked up beaver cleaver on the sidelines with all the gollys and jeez comments lol. He sounds so wholesome yet still fires you up to wanna run through a brick wall when you hear him. He’s had his bad moments but his play designs and play calling have been a very very pleasant change. I think he’s going to be the best coach we have had since dungy.
