  1. Another one I like. Reminds me of a faster version of Reggie Wayne. He is the whole package. I'm almost certain Wayne likes him too. Great hands and routes! Wish he was a little taller but not bad.
  2. The Colts like some of their young cornerbacks and safeties, and believe JuJu Brents, Jaylon Jones, Dallis Flowers, Nick Cross and Daniel Scott all have upside as they enter Year 2 or Year 3 in the NFL. Ballard specifically discussed those cornerbacks on Tuesday. "No question we got work to do in the secondary still," Ballard said. "But I like our three young corners. JuJu's gotta be healthy, we gotta get Dallis back healthy, we think we will. We think JuJu will be back healthy. We think both of them are very good. I think we underestimate what Jones did. I thought Jones played really good football last year and did it against some very talented wideouts and never once backed down. He's going to continue to get better. We think these guys are going to continue to get better." https://www.colts.com/news/chris-ballard-free-agency-spending-cornerbacks-anthony-richardson-2024

  4. You are likely right but I don't think 15 is miles away. And there's a bunch of very good WR in this draft so teams may adjust their strategy bc of it I think.
  5. A projection is a projection. The board doesn't always fall like that bc the teams see players differently than the people making the projections. I don't think it's a hard thing for a guy like that to go at 15 at WR. I agree about Ballard not trading up.
  6. I can't lie. Rome Odunze is nice. I like his competitive fire and his game is pretty polished. Love the size and his speed is good. Very reliable and I don't have a hard time seeing Ballard pick him. Seems like he would go good with Pittman and Downs. It's not hard to be confident about him being a really good player in the NFL.
  7. Commentary I've seen from South Carolina fans stated he was behind some talented WR they had there before he really got his chance. And some other things about bad QB play.I think you would like to see multiple years of production but things don't always happen that way. I've seen enough between the past season on into the Senior Bowl to be comfortable for me. Age is something to consider. Good point
  8. Getting Bowers at 15 and a WR in rd 2 preferably after a trade back would be a nice shot in the arm. I really like Xavier Legette! Heck I would take him at 15 personally.
  9. That wasn't a strong draft for pass rush when Paye was drafted. Paye was one of the best of the bunch even though sack numbers not high
  10. Everything about Adonai Mitchell says dawg to me! Love the routes and the speed.
  11. Id prefer one of the big athletic fast wr who can put a body on somebody and block when we need it. Especially since we are going to run the ball a good bit. In Worthy defense what makes him small though is his weight. Not his height. You can add some more lbs on a 6' 1" frame.
  12. No only Worthy bc he does that already. None of the others.
  13. Is this the same thing you said when Jones was drafted? Ballard tends to hit on his lower round draft picks at times. Don't completely dismiss.
  14. Use Reggie Wayne's mind and what he may be thinking. Id rather something traditional but he could be thinking TY Hilton. I don't put it past him. Honestly I'm a little leary of the super fast combine 40 guys bc a lot of them don't pan out. Worthy is slight but he isn't short at 6ft 1. You know they will put a few pounds on him and coach him to get off the jam.. He isn't who I prefer 1st but he isn't a bad WR to go along with the speed.
  15. My thing is I think Flowers can play. And I think Jones can play. It all depends on what the Colts think they have with them going into year 2. I'm not sure what we have at Nickel beyond Kenny Moore so that may be an area. I'm not ruling out corner early but it won't completely shock me if we stand pat there. I think if moves are made it may be more likely at Safety. Especially if Blackmon goes elsewhere. I think Ballard had issues with the safety play. We have a young guy we drafted last year who reminded me of Eric Weddle on film so he's in the mix I guess. Whatever else we do in the draft.
  16. The point is he took out the time to emphasize getting explosive and he highlighted in detail that what we need is definitely in this draft. I don't see us waiting around on Pierce and passing on a guy that fits the criteria. Even if a high pick is used. At the same time I'm fine with 3rd round if that's how the board fell. There's quality enough in this draft where it could be possible.
  17. I like some of these explosive guys like Brian Thomas jr, Adonai Mitchell, Xavier Legette who are more traditional. However I see a need for a guy who can do multiple things. Josh Downs is not it when it comes to special teams. Our return game puts no fear in anybody. I think that's some of the draw and interest they may see with Xavier Worthy. He can give us some of the stuff TY did early in his career playing WR and Special teams.
  18. They already know AR will be back but yet they continue to talk about it. Doesn't matter what table he stood on if what we need isn't there. Pay attention to the language Ballard and Steichen use. Ballard went so far as to highlight how good this receiver draft is. He compared it to I think the 2020 class or whatever year he used. He didn't do that for no good reason. AR alone isn't what they are banking their hopes on. Our WR room is sad if Pittman goes down even with a healthy AR. Pierce has not shown enough for us to think he can carry the #2 spot let alone be the go to guy if Pittman goes down.
  19. I didn't rule out addition to the secondary. I think that will happen in the draft. We also drafted a young safety last year who got hurt so he plays into the mix as well. Y'all have to remember these coaches are not scared to let young players play right away and take their lumps. I'm mostly saying here that I think our approach is on drafting , keeping guys together and developing. I'm not ready to go bonkers if major free agent moves haven't been made yet. And we know how Ballard is. He still has his eye on the market with regard to Blackmon and other vet guys who they think can play. And whoever that person is we will likely get a solid deal on bc we didn't buy when the frenzy was high.
  20. Have u paid attention in interviews how much they talk about getting explosive. Getting explosive pretty much means we are not currently explosive. I certainly would not rule out drafting somebody to replace Pierce. Some of you are going to find out the Colts actually like some of the guys we have in the secondary. I wouldn't necessarily rule out a corner bc competition is good but we had struggles due to injuries and youth. Not entirely bc they couldn't play. The moves or lack thereof in FA tell me they like who we have for the most part.
  21. Worthy reminds me of TY Hilton but taller.
  22. No.. It can be higher round guys as well. Franklin and Worthy are not later round guys.
  23. You would think after all this time people would know how Ballard operates during free agency and stop looking for stuff you know isn't going to happen. He isn't going to break the bank on guys everybody else covets. His area is after the frenzy has died down.
