  1. Is this the same thing you said when Jones was drafted? Ballard tends to hit on his lower round draft picks at times. Don't completely dismiss.
  2. Use Reggie Wayne's mind and what he may be thinking. Id rather something traditional but he could be thinking TY Hilton. I don't put it past him. Honestly I'm a little leary of the super fast combine 40 guys bc a lot of them don't pan out. Worthy is slight but he isn't short at 6ft 1. You know they will put a few pounds on him and coach him to get off the jam.. He isn't who I prefer 1st but he isn't a bad WR to go along with the speed.
  3. My thing is I think Flowers can play. And I think Jones can play. It all depends on what the Colts think they have with them going into year 2. I'm not sure what we have at Nickel beyond Kenny Moore so that may be an area. I'm not ruling out corner early but it won't completely shock me if we stand pat there. I think if moves are made it may be more likely at Safety. Especially if Blackmon goes elsewhere. I think Ballard had issues with the safety play. We have a young guy we drafted last year who reminded me of Eric Weddle on film so he's in the mix I guess. Whatever else we do in the draft.
  4. The point is he took out the time to emphasize getting explosive and he highlighted in detail that what we need is definitely in this draft. I don't see us waiting around on Pierce and passing on a guy that fits the criteria. Even if a high pick is used. At the same time I'm fine with 3rd round if that's how the board fell. There's quality enough in this draft where it could be possible.
  5. I like some of these explosive guys like Brian Thomas jr, Adonai Mitchell, Xavier Legette who are more traditional. However I see a need for a guy who can do multiple things. Josh Downs is not it when it comes to special teams. Our return game puts no fear in anybody. I think that's some of the draw and interest they may see with Xavier Worthy. He can give us some of the stuff TY did early in his career playing WR and Special teams.
  6. They already know AR will be back but yet they continue to talk about it. Doesn't matter what table he stood on if what we need isn't there. Pay attention to the language Ballard and Steichen use. Ballard went so far as to highlight how good this receiver draft is. He compared it to I think the 2020 class or whatever year he used. He didn't do that for no good reason. AR alone isn't what they are banking their hopes on. Our WR room is sad if Pittman goes down even with a healthy AR. Pierce has not shown enough for us to think he can carry the #2 spot let alone be the go to guy if Pittman goes down.
  7. I didn't rule out addition to the secondary. I think that will happen in the draft. We also drafted a young safety last year who got hurt so he plays into the mix as well. Y'all have to remember these coaches are not scared to let young players play right away and take their lumps. I'm mostly saying here that I think our approach is on drafting , keeping guys together and developing. I'm not ready to go bonkers if major free agent moves haven't been made yet. And we know how Ballard is. He still has his eye on the market with regard to Blackmon and other vet guys who they think can play. And whoever that person is we will likely get a solid deal on bc we didn't buy when the frenzy was high.
  8. Have u paid attention in interviews how much they talk about getting explosive. Getting explosive pretty much means we are not currently explosive. I certainly would not rule out drafting somebody to replace Pierce. Some of you are going to find out the Colts actually like some of the guys we have in the secondary. I wouldn't necessarily rule out a corner bc competition is good but we had struggles due to injuries and youth. Not entirely bc they couldn't play. The moves or lack thereof in FA tell me they like who we have for the most part.
  9. Worthy reminds me of TY Hilton but taller.
  10. No.. It can be higher round guys as well. Franklin and Worthy are not later round guys.
  11. You would think after all this time people would know how Ballard operates during free agency and stop looking for stuff you know isn't going to happen. He isn't going to break the bank on guys everybody else covets. His area is after the frenzy has died down.
  12. Too many quality WR out there and 15 is a good spot. No need to trade up. One will fall in lap. Heck you can get a good one in this one without even using 15 on a WR.
  13. Yeah I was looking for something more mobile. Flacco is not that. I'm not sure if he could repeat last year again but oh well at least he can give AR a few tips along with the plus of having had Lamar Jackson and Deshaun Watson around him.
  14. I'm glad you got my boy Zay Legette on the list! I like that one for us just by itself. Steve Smith called him a better DK Metcalf.
  15. Some sacks here and there can come by luck but there's a very good reason some are vastly better at it than others. The more of those types you have on your DL the better. And of course there is more to DL play than just sacks. I just don't see sacks as largely derived from luck when these guys spend a lot of time learning how to properly get through a defender, read keys and what not.
  16. Ballard has a whole staff full of stat guys like you with the same charts and graphs. I think they have a different interpretation on the data then your take. It's impossible that he isn't aware of how the numbers come about what influences the numbers to fall a certain way. They haven't made major changes in the starting personnel on the DL. And I say this with respect to you. I don't sacks are luck bc people are taught how to get after the QB and how to beat blocks. They just don't luck into it unless we want to say Freeneys gold jacket was all luck. What else did he do good besides rush the passer?
  17. When did sacks become luck? Obviously there's pressure from somewhere happening
  18. Oh please. We didn't even have a secondary to help them get home. It all plays together
  19. A couple points of interest here MHJ is not doing any testing Combine or Pro Day. Thats a bit new for me According to this sports illustrated article Combine Officials already knew he wasn't going to talk on the podium. "Harrison broke his silence by reposting a tweet on X, formerly known as Twitter, from Shane P. Hallam of Draft Countdown that implied combine officials knew conversations weren't going to happen." However he did do some individual interviews directly with clubs. Basically he is dealing directly with clubs and leaving everything else to the film. I can't be mad at that. https://www.si.com/college/ohiostate/football/why-didnt-ohio-state-buckeyes-star-marvin-harrison-jr-speak-at-combine
  20. All he is going to do is damage control everything at his pro day. They are going to eat it up and all will be fine. Just watch and see. I think he knows what to do on the field. I've never heard a single negative thing about the kid before that combine. Whatever he says at the Pro Day I bet the media buys it.
  21. I think Evan Hull is good. I like what I saw from him.
  22. Its not going to effect his draft stock 1 bit. They will do whatever they need to do with him at the pro day. Players usually do 1 or both of them. Obviously he chose to do the Pro day and we will get the answer there.
  23. I don't care anything about MHJ not doing the combine. Plenty guys opt for the Pro day. I'm sure He consulted with MH sr. and other NFL players before hand
