  1. Colts OT Bernhard Raimann on Laiatu Latu: He's going to be an 'impact player' https://coltswire.usatoday.com/2024/06/02/colts-ot-bernhard-raimann-on-laiatu-latu-hes-going-to-be-an-impact-player/
  2. Flowers coming off that Achilles kind of automatically gives Jones a bit of an edge early on.
  3. I just made the point to illustrate he is definitely not primarily a slot guy. He pretty much does it all. I think Reggie saw a bit of TY Hilton in him. And if we get any of that then Pierce has a problem down the line this year.
  4. On top of Dulin and AD eating into his playing time I think It could get even stickier for Pierce if Gould is who I think he is. My take is Gould is another guy who is going to force the Colts to get him some touches in these games. And he is more than just a gadget guy. He is a deep threat along with being able to play the full route tree inside and outside at WR. We shall see what happens
  5. Also said it wasn't going to take AD moving mountains to get WR 2. Will just have to keep showing all the stuff we saw on film consistently through camp and preseason enough for the coaches to feel like he is too talented to not be on the field starting
  6. I figured he was going to have to learn special teams. 4th and 5th WR always has to.
  7. Long way to go but if Scott keeps it up I'm fine with a trio of Scott, Blackmon, and Cross. I do like that Scott is from the Pac 12 where they sling the ball all over the yard. He is used to playing the pass quite often I'm sure.
  8. I don't fear having a young guy back there as long as he can play and he is on par athletically and intelligent. The system is made to play young guys early.
  9. In one of the interviews I listened to with Scott and a Tenn Titans reporter a few months back he was asked what's one of the things that separates you? He said probably what is between my ears. High football IQ, understanding of the game and instincts.
  10. Good job D. Scott! Nice to hear your name early. I been tooting your horn.
  11. Somebody always has to make an issue out of a non issue. He will get signed like they all do. The love for riding the character issue horse is annoying!
  12. #10 on Ad looks good to go along with #11 for Pittman on the other side.
  13. Mitchell won't have to move mountains. All he will have to do is show the same explosiveness we see on the film and make plays enough for them to be willing to deal with the rough spots. Colts may keep six but remember we have a lot of tight ends. Pierce played a lot of snaps but who did we have to challenge him any way? He pretty much had to play. If AD looks better and we go with him then that probably is a minus for Pierce. Gould has some edge bc of special teams. Pierce probably will be here but he will definitely have to compete.
  14. Im not certain if there will even be any room for Pierce bc the 4th and 5th receivers need to have special teams ability. I think AD will show enough to gain the Colts confidence. You know Dulin will be there. So from there you're competing with Gould and whoever else. You know Gould plays special teams. Going to be interesting what they have in mind.
  15. It's still to be determined bc he got hurt last year but Scott has everything you want as far as measurables and speed go. And he diagnose things well on tape on top of being an outstanding tackler. He is usually where he is supposed to be.
  16. This little fella is serious! Very important pickup for us.
  17. I'm not a giant believer in him either but he did get better as the year progressed. Not a bad guy to have as a backup since he now has a whole year under his belt as a starter and a reserve. Saints are not an easy cover with guys like Olave out there and some of the others though. Baker has some good height weight speed traits if they believe him to be moldable. I just think they are within their right to test what they think they saw first and then bring in the reinforcements if they are wrong. There is plenty of time left to make adjustments to the secondary. You know Ballard will go all the way down to the end of preseason bringing in personnel.
  18. Most secondaries are in trouble if their top two corners get hurt. Baker played better down the stretch. Jones can back up both boundry corner spots. I think Abraham will show to be good depth behind Kenny Moore. And it's still very early to evaluate what we have and make changes if necessary. The D line is stacked now so that will help the coverage on the back end. Finally as I said before Blackmon is the veteran on the back end. It's obvious they have some kind of trust in Cross. Ive told most of the forum here more than once you guys are going to find out Daniel Scott can play. Lastly we just drafted a rookie safety from Auburn who has skills. Stop throwing guys in the trash after one bad year. Especially if they are young and the staff says they can play.
