    There are two teams that I have followed and been a fan of since my diaper days....one the Colts the other the Yankees.  I know many hate the Yankees but I am proud of them going in to game 7 of the ALCS.  They weren't evern supposed to make the playoffs and the future is bright!  So for all those that hate them....some Damn Yankees!

      Congrats again on a successful season. I read that Girardi won't be back as manager next season. Any thoughts on who will replace Girardi?

    I tried a couple of mock drafts in preparation for the draft coming up in fewer than 7 hours. The one I like better:

     

    QBs: Brees, Winston (tons of offensive weapons)

    RB: L McCoy, C. McCaffrey, E. Lacy, A. Kamara

    WR: Michael Thomas (Saints), Diggs, Moncrief, Marvin Jones, Cooper Kupp 

    TE: Jordan Reed, Delanie Walker

    D/ST: Broncos, Giants

    K: Dan Bailey

     

    If my actual team could look like that, I would be mostly pleased. The only thing I don't like is that I have 3 players on one team (Saints). I could have selected a different RB like Vereen or Latavius Murray. Also, I want to draft Luck.

      Coltsfansince65, what do you think of picking up JJ Nelson. He is playing against your Colts but the Cards are thin at WR. John Brown is out. Nelson may be a good pick up.

    Hi, you seem to be knowledgeable  about all the NFL rules. Where can I find information on whether injured players (on IR, on PUP, etc) can be traded? Most say they cannot be traded. But is that accurate? Yes, many will ask "why would anyone trade for an injured player"? Lol. I would trade for an injured elite player (Watt, Luck, Julio Jones, L. Bell etc.). 

     

    I wish we had a Q/A section where these types of questions can be addressed. Since we don't, I decided to ask you in a Status Update. :) Thanks.

      How about Hooper? 

       

      You have McCoy, no? He did pretty well for me. He did not have a TD but he got yards. 

       

      My other team is not good at all. I have no elite receivers. I picked up Golladay and Hooper. Is Jaquiz (sp?) Rodgers available in your league? Who is available that you can pick up?

      How did you folks fare in FF in Week 1? My team in the Family League (in this thread) did very well. I won 162 over 78. All the players scored in double digits except Gronk.

       

      I may start the same players again:

      QB:  Carr

      RBs: McCoy and D. Cook

      WRs: Diggs and Cooper

      TE: Gronk

      Flex: McCaffrey 

      Rams D/ST 

      K: Dan Bailey

       

      I have another team in another league. The players are other Vikes fans on the Daily Norseman. I won there too but barely. I won with one of the lowest scores I have ever had -- 67. If I had played anyone else I would have lost. Lol. I am thin at WR and TE there.

       

      How did you guys do? Have you picked up or dropped anyone? If you need a WR, consider picking up Cooper Kupp (Rams) or Golladay (Lions).

      We play for bragging rights. No money to be made. I don't think I would enjoy it as much if I was doing it for money.

       

      Next year, perhaps we could get ten or twelve of us to play in a league together. For fun, not for money.

      @2006Coltsbestever You had asked how many teams we had in our league. I told you 12. Two of the regular participants decided not to play this year. So, we have a 10-team league, not 12. I prefer 12 team leagues.

      I would have preferred Reed or Olsen over Gronk (just because I don't want to root for a Pats player. Lol). Reed was already taken by the time I was selecting a TE. 

       

      I read on the Daily Norseman that the Colts released Locke. The youngster outplayed him?

      I selected 5th. McCoy was my first pick. He was the 6th highest rated player. I would have drafted the top 4 players (D. Johnson, L. Bell, A. Brown, Julio Jones) but they were gone when my time was up. Beckham was 5th; I did not want to select him for a few reasons, including that he is injured.

       

      Re Gronk: I just saw a headline of an ESPN article about players they advise not to draft. Gronk was #1. haha  I wonder why. It is an Insider article; so I could not access it.

      My team (looks a lot like the first one I posted)

       

      QBs: Brees, Carr, Luck (once Luck comes back, one of the first two will be cut)

      RBs: McCoy, McCaffrey, D. Cook, A. Kamara (I love Kamara; think he will play a lot despite AP there)

      WRs: A. Cooper, S. Diggs, D. Moncrief, Marvin Jones

      TEs: Gronk, Eifert (not who I wanted)

      D/ST: Broncos, Giants

      K: Dan Bailey

       

      I will be monitoring the waiver wire for other players. Jack Doyle and Whitten were not drafted. Once Luck returns, I will draft another WR or Doyle.

      No worries. The only thing to be sorry about is that you don't visit the Baseball Thread anymore. ;) 

       

      So, I should see both of your FF teams posted on the Forum next weekend? If we post it in Virtuoso's thread, we can easily find it. 

       

      Btw, I too don't want to select players from my rivals' teams except maybe Detroit. I don't like rooting for players whose teams I am rooting against. I wanted Martellus Bennett but I cannot root for a Packers player to do well.

      I did another mock draft but I was not too pleased with that one. I had Wilson and Luck as QBs.

      Same RBs as I had earlier (McCoy, McCaffrey, Lacy, Kamara)

      WRs:

      B. Cooks,

      Diggs,

      Sterling Shepard,

      Galloway (Lions),

      Hogan (Pats)

      TE: Reed (I like Reed a lot), Hunter Henry

      D/ST: Vikings, Giants

      K: Dan Bailey (he is automatic)

       

      @2006Coltsbestever Yes, do FF. My brother-in-law tried for 3 or so years to get me to join. I did not want to. Once I joined I enjoyed it a lot. I love picking guys up on waivers.

      I like that draft very much, @coltsfansince65.  Bilal Powell is an underrated player. I hope to draft him.
