Both guys have issues, especially Morison, and were drafted earlier then they should have been. I was only pointing out to the poster I quoted that every fan is seeing past their new draftees flaws and thinking every player they got will be all-stars and are "steals". While simultaneously downplaying every othe team's draft. No one gets huge impact play out of every pick. We all know that that's never the case.

I don't know about that, Q. Vikings fans were not happy about drafting Willie Beavers in the 4th. We don't believe we got a "steal" there. We would have preferred Billings or one of the many other O-linemen that were still available. We like our other picks.

Do you like your draft selections?  Which one of the top wide receivers did you want?  You know I wanted Doctson but Treadwell looks like he will be a good fit in our offense.

Mine is Boehringer, the kid from Germany, you just have to pull for this kid that has never set foot in America until the draft. Good Luck MoBo and welcome to America!!

I am rooting for him too. He seems like a nice, humble guy who loves football. He already signed his contract with the Vikings, making him the first player drafted this year to do so.

The other feel good story was that of Mackenzie Alexander.  ESPN did a feature on him yesterday, showing him working the fields in a farm town in Florida to help his parents who are from Haiti. It shows where he developed his work ethic and how hard he works at becoming a better football player. It was nice to see.

Honestly, without seeing any of his tape, I can't say I know where he should go.  If the film doesn't matter at all and we're only looking at his measurables, he's clearly a 1st round talent.  Of course, that's not how it works and tape and production does matter.

Here we are, less than 24 hours after his pro day, and NFL.com has this to say about him:

    http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/profiles/moritz-boehringer?id=2556261

That's promising.  But I suspect that whatever team he joins will take a sort of Daniel Adongo path to playing time.  He may not have an entire season on the PS, but it will be a slow process.  That to me screams 6th-7th round at best.  I think 4th round is probably optimistic - it really just depends on his film.  How coachable are his deficiencies?  What's his projection to crack playing time?  Et cetera.  We'll see.  I wouldn't get my hopes up to be honest, but it's hard not to be intrigued by his potential at the least.

You were right about where he would go. The Vikings drafted him in the 6th. He is a project.

I was reading his account was hacked and my question is could it have been Miami or another team who did that  just to make him fall deeper in the draft? Stranger things have happened. :dunno:

To the bolded: That did cross my mind. I would not be surprised if teams or competing players posts such pics/videos in the future to make players slip in the draft. I read that Adam Gase and Tunsil share the same agent. The agent must have convinced Gase and the Dolphins that taking Tunsil was worth the risk.

When I first heard about his tweet and the video, I thought it was his step-father or someone else close to him that made those posts. Whoever did this is an awful human being.

  5. I think most of us are intrigued by him. He has a lot of the measurables that people like. I don't know enough about him; so I will reserve judgment until I see more of him. We are not counting on him to be a factor this year. He is a project. This is a low risk, possible high reward kind of a pick. I don't mind it.

There was a thread on this site about him a couple of weeks ago. I think some Colts fans liked what they saw.

As I stated, they'll probably let Tunsil slide, as his draft slide itself is likely viewed as punishment enough, and dating the video accurately could be problematic.

But, it is in the CBA, under the abuse policy.  Everyone and their sister sues the NFL these days, but the NFL will pursue it to the bitter end/top of the chain.  And each side is held accountable to what is in the CBA at the end of the day.  So Tunsil can sue all he wants, but if the Substance abuse policy in the CBA allows the NFL to place a player in the program because of acts in college, there is nothing they can do about it, except sue and lose in the end.

"Behavior (including but not limited to an arrest or conduct related to an alleged misuse of substances of abuse occurring up to two football seasons prior to the player's applicable scouting combine) which, in the judgment of the medical director, exhibits physical, behavioral, or psychological signs or symptoms of misuse of substances of abuse."

    http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/202423/laremy-tunsil-could-be-subject-to-nfls-drug-program

So if he doesn't get placed in it, I'll bet Tunsil gets tested  more than any other player this upcoming season for PEDS, and I'll bet he gets tested as much as allowable from now until training camp ends for substances of abuse;  Just to be sure.

I appreciate the link and the information but I still think it is cruel. The active players that agree to the CBA don't care about those that will play in the NFL.in the future. Such a policy only affects future players, not active players.

With social media nowadays, anyone can post pictures and videos of players. If the NFL will punish players for whatever is shown on those pictures and videos, I can see individuals exploiting that to affect the draft status of some players.

In accordance with the substance of abuse policy, which is part of the collective bargaining agreement negotiated by the NFL and the NFL Players Association, Tunsil's actions in college can still cause him to be entered into the league's substance of abuse program, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said."

But I think they'll let the guy slide...

It would be absurd and cruel to enter this guy into the substance abuse program for this particular act which reportedly occurred 2 years before he declared for the NFL draft. I could understand his being subject to the NFL's substance abuse policy if he recorded this video during the pre-draft season, but that's not the case. In addition, he has not failed a drug test.

The NFL would be inviting a lawsuit if Tunsil starts his career in the substance abuse program.

He really didn't get tested much last year so he didn't have a lot of numbers. Either that's because offenses were scared or he just didn't make the plays when available. I think he is a solid 2nd rounder. Very confident kid and you need that in your corner. I would have been ok taking him.

I like Alexander. Plays with confidence and can get up in your face and press. Needs to make teams pay more when they throw at him. He is usually in right position.

Thank you. We really did not need a CB. I guess we went BPA.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate your post.  Only time will tell, but I really felt this guy was a quality pick AND I also said I was down to either Neal or Kelly and felt I couldn't have nailed their values any better.

Thanks again...it is rare for anyone to acknowledge they might have been wrong about something.

When the Falcons made that pick, I immediately thought of you. I was prepared to write something in the draft thread but I could not access the site at that time, perhaps because the Colts pick was coming up.

Anyway, you were right. Let's do this again next year. :)

Jack would've been a great pick IMO...I wouldn't have minded him at 18.  I think the sentiment is the exact same on our end...for the most part.  I am satisfied, he's a good player, but not my first choice.

There are still a lot of stud players on the board. You will get some good players.

Billings has fallen. He was another popular player amongst Vikings fans.

Haha, sorry...how you feel about the pick?  Not bad IMO

I am okay with it. I think he and Doctson fit best with Teddy. Shepard would have been great too. As long as we did not take Fuller, I think I would have been okay.

I was intrigued by Jack though.  My fellow Vikes fans wanted Jack but they like Treadwell.

  12. Very good pick for the Colts. Vikings fans on our thread believe this is Grigson's best draft pick (outside of Luck, of course).

My Vikes are coming up. My guys Karl Joseph and Sheldon Rankins are gone. I want Doctson but Houston may take him. I don't mind getting Jack for an all-Bruins LB corps. We've been dreaming this and it may come to pass. Still want Doctson.

  13. My team is better with my new draft picks. I love Rankins. If I had to do it over, I would have taken Sterling Shepard over Boyd, but Boyd would work well too.

    Minnesota Vikings -------

    1. 20. Minnesota -- Sheldon Rankins, Louisville

    2. 54. Minnesota - Tyler Boyd, Pittsburgh

    4. 118. Minnesota - Connor McGovern, Missouri

    4. 121. Minnesota - Eric Murray, Minnesota
