  1. I am surprised that not more teams vied for his services and that he signed only a one-year deal. Was he injured?
  2. I had asked the past ten years -- I think Grigson signed several high-priced free agents. Which GM acquired Jonathan Hankins? So far, Frank Gore seems to be the best of the signings that have been mentioned.
  3. Would you sign Jeff Gladney? He was a first round pick. In his draft two years ago many folks here thought he would be a first or 2nd round pick. (Vikes picked him in the first round. He was cut after an off-the-field incident.)
  4. I was referring to free agent veterans. I was trying to illustrate that paying a lot for free agents that are not already part of your organization often does not work out. The Colts players acquired as free agents that have worked out well are low-priced ones. The high-priced ones have not worked out. (The return on investment has not been great.)
  5. Thank you. I prefer signing low-priced guys. (I think I would appreciate Ballard as GM.) Stokely is a good one. Chad Bratzke, that is a name I have not heard in a while. He played for the Giants. I am not familiar with Wilford or Loudermilk. I believe I remember Reagor. I prefer trading for players, as it seems that guys who are traded pan out better. One of your fellow Colts fans mentioned Vontae Davis.
  6. As I mentioned earlier, this free agency thread has been here all along. I moved all the Rodgers and Adams comments from the Wentz Trade Thread to here. Most of the comments about Watson were moved here too. I left the comments about the Colts and any QBs that the Colts may trade for (Jimmy G, Mayfield, Ryan, and some Winston ones).
  7. I was just making conversation. If you don't like it, disregard it. As for the thread, I did not move it. It has been here all along. Next time send me a personal message.
  8. No trades. Just free agents. Adam is a good one but he was signed more than 10 years ago, no? For the Vikings, one of the best was Antoine Winfield, CB, who had been drafted by the Bills but that was a little over 10 years ago. Linval Joseph was a very productive signing for us in 2014 or 2015.
  9. I asked a question in the other thread. Who turned out to be the most productive high-priced free agent of the Colts in the last 10 years. (Not undrafted free agents) Who seemed to have the highest return on investment?
  10. I will reply in detail later. I'm going back to work in a little while. Barr is gone? I did not realize that. As long as we have Kendricks, I won't be upset about the LBs. I have not heard any news about Vigil. Yes, Pierce was cut. He did nothing for us. Conklin signed with the Jets. Cousins seemed to like Conklin a lot. We signed a TE but I am not familiar with him. It is too bad no one wants Cousins. I was hoping for an "Osweiler to the Browns"-type deal. We will not win anything until we free ourselves of Cousins. Keep me informed. Be well.
  11. @danlhart87 I read that you are a life-long Texas Longhorn fan. What are your thoughts of Jordan Hicks, new Vikings LB.
  12. @VikingsFanInChennai What do you think about our moves so far? As you know, I am not a fan of the Cousins extension but the team had no other choice. Kirk's agent crafted a contract that is hard to free oneself of. I wish we had allowed his contact to expire. So far we have acquire Harrison Phillips and Jordan Hicks, two guys to improve the defense. Is Zimmer still the head coach? I don't mind not being quiet in free agency. I don't like signing high-priced free agents (like Cousins).
  13. Daniels signed a deal with the Steelers -- 3 years, $26.5. Great signing.
  14. I wrote that the Lions are having a nice draft. (I edited it.) I need some coffee.
  15. The Lions are doing a good job this free agent period. They signed several of their own free agents and are adding reasonable contracts outside of that. I like that much more than what the Jags have done, assembling high-priced free agents from everywhere.
  16. Free Agency tracker (CBS) I see James Daniels is not signed yet. That would be a good signing for anyone who needs a guard. He comes out of the OL factory called Iowa (I believe) and he is only 24 years old!
  17. This is an example of the type of free agent signings I approve of: The Lions have re-signed their own players.
  18. They better not. I would be extremely disappointed if they did. That is the best commodity they have besides Justin Jefferson. Perhaps they could trade him. But cut him and get nothing for him?? Nah. Have you heard that they would? They did release Michael Pierce, another free agent signing that did nothing for us.
  19. Here is a Vikings signing. Never expected this one. He is a Stanford Cardinal which I love.
  20. I don't like signing high-priced free agents, but I would take this guy. I'm a huge fan of his. Is that a Vikings cap he has on in his avatar?
