I'll see how well this goes and make this a weekly thing.

    1.Pressure

I wouldn't exactly say Stroud can't get out of the pocket, but thats where he does the most damage which is why he can't get comfortable or else he's gotten rip this secondary apart. Latu, Buck, and Paye need to get to Stroud to help our corners against their WRs.

    2. Make it hard on their weapons

Brents needs to be on Diggs the entire game. Follow him everywhere on the field and he needs to make him work. I have Kenny on Dell. Kenny needs to jam and get his hands on Dell. Make his life difficult and absolutely no free releases. Jones and Blackmon need to try to keep Collins in check. Collins is the only player I want doubled in this game.

    3. Get JT started early

I feel like the Texans are gonna come into this game trying to force AR to beat them. I think we're gonna see a lot of 7 to 8 man fronts with man coverage on our WRs. That makes winning on the line of scrimmage important to establish the run game which will then lead to open plays across the middle.

    4. Pierce, Mitchell, and Downs (Hopefully) need to win their matchups

If the Texans wanna just put Stingley on Pitt, then other WRs need to win their one on ones. Texans can't stack the box and double making it crucial that our WRs beat their second third and fourth CB

    5. Get AR into a rhythm

Shane needs to give AR some plays to make things easy for him. This is Richardson's first real game in almost a year so he's gonna be pressing. Keep things simple and work their way to the big shots.

great post , you called it !!!!!

I don't know. Levis has a head coach that is allowing him to go all out and be the gunslinger that @csmopar said fans like. Levis had one of the lowest completion percentages but he had the most air yards of any QB last year, I believe. (Air yards = gunslinging 😂)

I am the opposite of most fans. I usually prefer game managers over gunslingers. I like QBs who understand football situations and understand that if the goal is to burn the clock, running the ball, staying inbounds, etc is more effective than slinging the ball down the field. Aaron Rodgers was very good at understanding football situations.

brady was the best at it imo

Ron Milus, his 3rd year with us 24 years at NFL level.  Was with the Chargers for 7 seasons,

he should be good, is it just a lack of proven talent?

Apparently there's been lit a fire under the Jags by the owner himself:

Shad Khan - Winning now is the expectation.

I think the South is going to be much tougher than it has been. The Texans are better, the Jags are expected to win, the Titans have made big moves this off season. We'll see, but I don't expect any easy wins for the Colts in the South this season.

I agree the afc south is going to be much better. I hope the colts can compete with the other 3 who have added proven talent while we have only added draft picks. we will see

It's because a lot of people don't watch our team. They have no clue. I guarantee he will have a better season than Will Levis. LOL.

he should be at least better than levis, i am hoping he comes close to being as good as stroud so we can be competitive with the texans

Id really like the colts to control the time of possession in this game. If ss wants to be a GREAT coach, he can scheme this up and not give houston 8+ drives with the football. Control the clock, control the game. We got the running back and line to take advantage of exactly that. I hope the colts make it happen, all i know is it should be close either way. CONTROL THE CLOCK! NO RHYTM FOR STROUD.

is this almost like playing brady again?

Maybe the decision is based on whether you have an above average tight end that is on the field the majority of the time.  The Eagles had Ertz.  The 49ers have Kittle.  No idea on the Texans.  We just have average tight ends who pretty much do one thing well.  So we need more of them.  I think a real FB can bring value.  Shane had Ertz with the Eagles.  I would bet we would have a FB if we had an excellent TE.  Heaven knows we have been trying to draft one for quite a few years now.

to bad we was not in a position to get bowers

Im not sure I understand the fuss of leaving 3 of the late picks off the active roster. They had 9 picks. So 6 players drafted this year made the 53 man roster following a year of retaining all but a handful of players, and we’re concerned and fussing about 3 late draft picks. The waiver pickups make it even more less of a fuss to me- they clearly value players more than those 3 that were drafted… So if the 6 that are on the roster turn into an incredible class this year and moving forward, are we going to even remember those that didn’t make the roster? I just don’t get the attention it’s getting. Some teams didn’t even draft 6 players this year…

what is most interesting is that the players we kept were all roughly in the top 150, which several analysts were saying was where the draft fell off this year. I trust the front office’s evaluations on that- this could have been a really poor bottom part of the draft and a longshot to get anyone to stick, so they tested some unique players.

is that right , one third of ballards 2024 draft picks did not make the team ?

Colts win this ball game. I say around 28-20.

I think we are going to control the ball a lot on the ground between Taylor and AR. Even on passing downs AR is going to extend plays. This is going to keep Stroud off the field.

sounds like a winning game plan

This game will tell you what type of GM Ballard is. Both teams have QB's on Rookie contracts. Houston went out and added players. The Colts did not (but we do have lots of cap space). So we will see which theory is correct on team building.

we dont have one wr that defenses are afraid of . the top teams have at least one elite wr that defenses fear

How high do you have to be on a guy to keep his seat warm after two straight missed seasons? I still think he's an incredible prospect, but at some point it's time to move on. I wouldn't get rid of him, not without there being some behind the scenes stuff that the team isn't happy with, but he's going to have to kick the door down to stick around next year.

Same thing with Daniel Scott. Two straight major injuries, he's on the bubble, at best. It's not anyone's fault, but you can't wait forever.

a lot of players after a major injury are never as good as they were before the injury
