Thanks, I knew I remembered something, just couldn't remember what. Lol.

Edit: not sure I buy the plan is to just carry it all over to next year, but hey?

If that was the case, don't put the void years on there

Am I just being really dumb lol....... how are we making space to roll over to next year when we would have had that space anyway as he was a free agent so to resign him we'd have probably just used the cap space we allocated to him next year.

  2. He just had that IT factor that can't be taught didn't he! Never felt like we were out of a game when he played no matter how many points we were behind.....and that was from that moment he threw his first ball for the Colts. He seems really happy with life these days but there seems so much of his career left on the table that could have been.

And that will get Ballard fire because he left obvious holes in the roster.

So you realize Texans lost their franchise QB after Andrew luck retired and have already eon the division?

What does the Texans have to do with that data?......the point they were trying to make was that our record last season isn't an indication of progress for next season......and just pinning up the win records for the last 10 years is not useful in that regard

  4. So help me out a bit here.......why didn't Chiefs want to keep hold of Sneed long term considering initially, his contract with the Titans looks not much different from what he would have got for the year on tag with them.....they said they were happy to keep him for the year on tag then basically traded him for not a lot.....I get they are tight against the cap but if they hadn't made a trade they would have had to have dealt with that anyway.

We don’t have enough money to sign Simmons. Ballard thinks having 50 million wrapped up in DT is good. Or overpaying a linebacker. He doesn’t jundrrstand premium positions.

There's no issue with the money if he wanted to sign Simmons......whether he wants to or not is a different matter but cap space isn't an issue if he really wants to.

I am still so baffled about that Fields trade. If you treat him as a pure athlete... if you treat him as a running back... he still must have more value than a 6th round pick. How have the Bears botched it this badly?

Yeah I get your point about Fields.....but he's ultimately only as valuable as what teams are willing to pay......and it probably says a lot that this was their best offer probably!! What they botched was not trading him last year when he had more value it seemed and they were unsure what path they wanted to take!

The Colts have yet to sign a safety. Ballard might be waiting to sign sneed before trying to find a replacement for Blackmon. The other thing is this, I thought I saw the Colts had 22 million left in the cap. And if sneed gets his asking price, how the heck are we going to sign our draft picks? I did hear rumors that the Colts are trying to restructure/extend Buckner but it’s all just rumor.

when it comes to safety, maybe Ballard is using the “young” secondary again. Idk. Just had those thoughts mulling around.

I suppose it wont surprise me if the Colts get Sneed, or don’t. I could see both happening.

Yeah they would definitely have to restructure at least one contract and release someone like Cox to make it work if world guess.....that 22 mill space isn't even accounting for Flacco yet either I don't think!

We sign a couple splash players but in order to do so, we weaken other areas by not resigning our good players doesn't improve us imo.

That's true......but at some point being a GM you surely have to take some risks with players that will push us forward rather than maintaining the status quo......which is middle of the road currently. But I appreciate there are still opportunities to do this as it stands......I'm just not confident we will.

Yes.  We retained key players, added depth, and our young guys have another year experience.  Did other teams improve?  Debatable.  It’s give and take.  For every key player they signed from another team, they lost a key player of their own.

Is the depth we've added better than the depth last year? And young guys having another year doesn't necessarily equate to improving a team. Kind of feel were in the treading water phase
