agreed! But I would wait to see more before giving him a big contract. He is much better than Franklin. The colts need to have lb as a high priority in the draft. I think the defense can be really good if the lb position is addressed. I think the young db’s will continue to to get better.

I have been saying all season to run the ball. It doesn’t matter who the rb is, it’s all about the line. That’s why I said I wouldn’t pay Taylor a big contract. They could have used that money to fill a need or extend Buckner. the colts lead the league in turnover margin and close to the top in sacks. Maybe the gm and dc aren’t as bad as so many people here are saying! I guess that’s why they are fans, not gm’s. i would trade Franklin if the colts could get a good draft pick. I don’t care how many useless tackles he has. The colts need to draft a couple lb’s this year.

I have found myself rooting for Levi’s because of all the people here picking apart everything he does just to justify their infatuation with Richardson. Richardson COULD be good, but as of now there is no question who is better now. It’s fun to watch him and purdy play.

Or take chance on a player that falls for some reason even if it isn’t a big need. Maybe you end up with a home run.

Saying the colts should draft a specific position in the first round is bound for failure. You never know who will be available. You can have priorities, but who is picked or if you trade down depends on who is available. Teams that stretch to draft a position of need don’t usually benefit from this strategy.

There is a lot of talk about what players a qb has on offense and what the defenses are against him, but all these things change for every team week to week. The first time the colts played Tenn they ran the ball with ease, second time couldn’t run. Tenn killed the colts running the ball last week, this week had a hard time running the ball. It is a league of any given day any one can win. a really good qb will elevate their team even without really good players around them. Probably the only position that can make that kind of impact and why it is the most important.

Before the draft I wanted the colts to draft the top rush end or dt if they were available, if not trade down and maybe a top qb drops for some reason because it seems to happen a lot. I didn’t like drafting Richardson that high because all he showed in college was what he could be. That’s not enough for me, I want to see a lot more to use that high of a pick on a qb. As a colts fan it will suck if it turns out to be a bad pick. I would gladly admit I was wrong!

I was watching the game the mannings were calling. Both of them and cousins said the exact same thing. peyton also likes levis. 2006, now you can criticize Peyton also.

Levis just put Tenn on his back and beat Miami! I will stick to my opinion that he is better than Richardson now and will be in the future. That doesn’t mean I hope richardson fails. I just think Levis has shown me everything I would like to see in a nfl qb, Richardson hasn’t yet.

my post was about first year numbers and you are using career records to desperately try to make a point. Levis doesn’t have a career, only a handful of games. No one knows if he will get better or not, or for that matter, no other young qb! you really stretched with this post!

yes, he is very average. I wish they would have him under center more and run the ball with some play action or bootlegs. Then you wouldn’t be relying on a shaky qb to win games. Adjust to the players you have.

Why check down on 3rd down and long with no pressure! There are much better backup qb’s all over the league. Under throwing granson..

Luck would have played a last place schedule. The colts were only the worst team because manning got hurt, they were pretty good the year before with manning so there was qb friendly players there for lucks first year. richardsons instincts are to run before staying in the pocket and making multiple reads. Levis is to stay in the pocket and go through all the reads. I could care less what any player did in college once they are playing in the nfl, that’s all that matters!

Levis did what he needed to do to win this game, special teams lost the game for Tenn!

the tenn line is terrible, that’s not on the qb. He isn’t a running qb and I don’t think the Tenn coaches want him to be one. Andrew lucks completion rate was less, about the same yards per pass attempt, and much worse td to interception rate. lets not confuse pass rush awareness with a first instinct to run, that Richardson has any I don’t think it is a good thing!

I didn’t see any bad mistakes that he made and made some really nice throws down field. He stayed in the pocket looking for a receiver unlike minshew that has happy feet. He reminds me of Andrew lucks first year, but has a higher completion percentage and much better td to interception percentage. I think if he played for the colts, everyone here would be saying the same thing! I like pocket passers and I think most here did also until the colts drafted Richardson. That’s kind of funny to me.

I don’t see any team signing him to be their starter. He is too shaky, you just don’t know what you will get every time he drops back to pass. a lot have said the colts need him in case Richardson gets hurt. If that’s the case, the colts should draft a qb every year and hope to get lucky and find a starter to replace Richardson because you have to have a reliable starting qb.

I think they will all be like that because of the shaky qb play. But way better than last year!

Just watched the game on nfl network replay. Minshew made some good throws, but also made some mistakes. You just never know what will happen when he goes back to pass. I thought Levis played better than he did. Steichen has done a great job with the team, I just question some of his decisions. Going for 2 that early in the game was a big mistake, and I said it in the chat when the colts scored so no Monday morning qb’ing. Great play call on special teams 2nd blocked kick!! I wish he had more confidence in the running game with top rb’s, o-line, and shaky qb. Over all the colts played well and deserved to win the game.

Pittman just doesn’t seem like the kind of receiver that scares you, at least not with this qb. Could he be with a top qb? Maybe, maybe not. I wouldn’t take that gamble with a big contract right now.
