  1. There has been an accusation from what I have seen. Nobody here saw what happened and I am pretty sure there is no video tape ether, just a accusation. Anyone here ever know someone accused of something, rightly or wrongly, and you are shocked by it? Does that mean you are a bad judge of character? Maybe he did, maybe not, nobody here knows for sure. Talk about character, what about everyone here assuming something over a accusation.
  2. you might be able to say the same about other teams if you looked at every game. the colts not blitzing and playing a soft zone has a lot to do with pressures and sacks. Teams can make I short quick pass and get 10 yards and it won’t matter how good of pass rusher you have they can’t get there that fast.
  3. if you are really trying to protect players, you should be emphasizing arm tackling in practice. I think that would cut down on more injuries than any rule change they can put in place, mainly concussions!
  4. great point about tackling! I see this all the time in college, it’s about the hit not tackling and it leaches into the nfl. The biggest issue is with db’s who don’t have the size to knock players down. I don’t know why coaches don’t address it more at all levels. also agree and have been saying for years the lack of talent in colts lb’s.
  5. a lot of people have been saying the colts o-line hasn’t been good. I have been saying it’s more because of the rpo because it takes the drive blocking away from the line because they could get a penalty if it is a pass play and they are down field. That and the colts not playing two blocking te’s. This is all on the coach, not the players or Ballard.
  6. when I saw the highlights and Flacco was the qb, I said he is no joke and clev is going to be dangerous. I would have rather had him than gm.
  7. or a qb problem. Qb that don’t have a strong arm have to anticipate receivers breaking open before they actually do. Good examples are Peyton manning and Dan routs, and gm isn’t anywhere close to that level.
  8. thank you! That pretty much kills the narrative that so many people here have been saying.
  9. I’m not in the big contract for pitman camp, I don’t think he is that kind of receiver. I wouldn’t extend current players under contract next year. There are too many injuries in the nfl now. i would shy away from big guaranteed money contracts for any players except a proven franchise qb unless it is at a great discount. Players know their career could end at any time, so guaranteed money should be at a discount or a big money contract that doesn’t have any guaranteed money. i don’t like any of the te’s, so they can all walk. The colts need a huge upgrade that will help the passing and running game. i love Buckner, but he is getting older and play seems to deteriorate fast when players hit 30. Qb is the only position where older is ok. I would draft a rookie qb to hopefully replace minshew.
  10. those were his two “big” plays that I saw him make. Too many people look at meaningless stats like tackles. I saw 3 unassisted tackles, the 2 mentioned here and the other was him being blocked and the rb running into both of them.
  11. The colts te’s are a much bigger problem than the receivers. They have a lot of them and they aren’t good blockers or receivers. They need one that is a good blocker and one that is a blocker and receiver. You have to be able to run the ball if the rpo the colts want to run is going to work. A lot of the great qb’s have had that te that can block and receive. I don’t know what is available in the draft, but this is something the colts should have as a priority.
  12. Haven’t people learned that no game is a lock any more with the hard salary cap and all the qb injuries!
  13. and that was because the qb scrambled towards him while he was being blocked.
  14. Maybe a te is more important than a wr that so many here want the colts to get! That will help with the passing and running game.
  15. we will see how is there longer. I think Ballard gets too much hate and steichen gets too much praise. Time will tell!
  16. I don’t understand why the colts have so many te’s when they don’t use them blocking or passing to them. If they can’t block, cut them and get some that can. You watch San Francisco and they have two te’s on the line and that’s a big reason they are so successful running the ball and it’s the same with other teams. That doesn’t meant they can’t throw to them also. The colts are just wasting money spent on what they wanted to be a top rb.
  17. agreed! Things like that can change a game, it happens a lot. Funny thing momentum, it showes more since there is so much parity in the nfl with the hard salary cap.
  18. Just watched the game highlights, I think most of the plays. His sack was a blitz where he was blocked, the qb scrambled and he tackled him a couple yards short of the line of scrimage. He made one good tackle behind the line when he shot a gap and made the tackle for a loss. That it for good plays he made. All the other tackles were part of a group of players, one where he was being pancaked by a lineman and Barkley ran right into them and the all went down. He couldn’t beat the qb to the sideline on a scramble that was running towards him. He made two plays from what I saw, nothing close to a great game like before his injury.
  19. that’s what you should be doing against a good pass rusher, but it is usually a te and then releases for a check down pass. I don’t know why you would have a wr doing it unless he is a better blocker than your te. If that’s the case, all the colts te’s should be cut and get some new ones!!
  20. If he is running deep routs most of the time and you have a qb that doesn’t have the arm to make I lot of those throws, it that his fault? The colts qb can make a long pass that is lofted up, but most long pass routs need that strong arm to complete. How many times have the colts completed or thrown a deep out? That should tell you everything!
  21. I don’t think that’s part of the coaches rpo offense, and you don’t have a running qb or one that is a deep passing threat. So teams clog the middle and the safety’s play closer to the line, making short passes and running the ball tougher.
  22. Yup, just as a have been saying for a while. I was saying pat was overrated here back then and was attacked by almost everyone here.
