  1. Pat McInally was the only player to have ever scored a perfect 50, but ironically, that's frowned upon by coaches since they feel the player may outsmart the system, their authority, and step out of line. Some players miss some questions on purpose to avoid that perfect mark.

With Luck scoring a 41, it makes you wonder if he could have done better, but intentionally chose not to.

That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. If my coaches are dumb enough, arrogant enough, selfish enough, and rude enough to frown upon a player for doing well on a test, then that just shows how elitist and immature they really are...

  2. It was a good year, but it helps to have Stephen Garcia, who had a very good year, as your QB. Once Shaw took over, it was downhill from there. In 2010, Jones had a pretty good year from McElroy. McElroy was very good, but they didn't pass much (26 times a game), but Jones was still clearly superior to Jeffrey. Green had a good year considering he was SUSPENDED FOR 4 GAMES! He had a great year, but this last year wasn't that impressive.

Alshon Jeffery was clearly the top receiver in the SEC in 2010. Julio Jones? Come on... he was not as dominant as Jeffery. Stephen Garcia vs. Greg McElroy? They are pretty even and McElroy is in the NFL right now. 26 passes a game is quite a bit as well.

If you want to compare teams, don't just use quarterbacks, considering that they are about the same anyways. What about offensive lines? Alabama usually has a very good O-line which gives quarterbacks more time to throw and receivers more time to run routes and get open.

  3. First off, Megatron is listed as 236, and Jefferey played at 230. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but 3 pounds is a difference. Jeffrey does not or ever did look fast on the field. His 40 time is slow, but some players look faster on the field. He isn't one of those guys. As a former receiver at a pretty high level, I can tell you that his route running (one of the most important traits of a WR) is sloppy and inconsistent. He'll be good on one or two routes, but look terrible on all the other ones. However, you can get better at that, but that requires devotion and time, something I don't think he has in him. Don't be comparing Megatron to Alshon Jeffrey. Megatron is super-athletic and is strong and powerful. Jeffrey is definitely not strong. Megatron beats press corners, Jeffrey does not. Megatron has better leaping ability and better hands. Megatron has also 4.4 speed. Jeffery may have ran a 4.47 at the pro day, but that was with a stopwatch so he essentially got early 4.5s. He's an athletic freak who is very strong, and muscle weighs more than fat. Jeffrey has more fat on his body than Megatron does.

I'll throw out this scenario. I'm a 290 pound couch potato and I'm standing next to Vince Wilfork. Who's the more athletic one? He is, even though he is bigger. He's another one. Dontari Poe vs Ta'amu. Poe has 15-18 pounds on Ta'amu, but he is much more athletic. You shouldn't just throw out the term overweight like that. Maybe you can say it on the 300+ pound guys, but not on Megatron or even Jeffrey for that matter.

Alshon Jeffery shredded most of the SEC's and cornerbacks in 2010. He was an All-American over A.J. Green and Julio Jones. I don't know why you want to deny his dominant 2010 season. You act like all his 88 receptions, 1517 yards, and 9 touchdowns came on jump balls...

  4. Sorry, did not realize you responded to me.

Alshon Jeffrey has all the stuff the fans want to see. Leaping ability, hands, height, but he doesn't have strength, routes are sloppy, and his speed is average at best. Throw in a questionable attitude and his overwhelming ego, and you got yourself one heck of a risky pick. He doesn't impress me, never did. He's also pretty overweight, although he is trying to work on it, but then again, so did Jamarcus Russell. Overall, he still has a lot of work and room to go, and I just don't think he's a good piece of the puzzle, and it's not worth spending a 2nd round pick on him.

In that video, he didn't impress me at all. That catch along the sideline at 2:00 would not have been a catch in the NFL. If I'm Alshon, I'm not happy with this tape, and if I'm an NFL scout, I don't like this tape either. These are mediocre CBs with Emanuel Davis (a 6-7th rounder) being their best CB. He and the other CBs were all over him throughout the game, and he was always covered. He used his great leaping ability to get the ball. That won't always work in the NFL, especially against guys like Cromartie who are just as big and faster than him.

Cromartie is a couple inches shorter than Alshon Jeffery, and I'd say that Jeffery is a little underweight right now at 213 lbs. During his amazing 2010 season, he was listed at 6'4" 233 or 229 lbs. That's not overweight if he plays like he did because he was probably one of the best receiver in the nation that season and he didn't look slow to me. Calvin Johnson isn't overweight and he's 6' 5" 239 lbs.

  5. Jeffery is still a slow player, no mater how fast he runs his 40's. The reason I'm so adamant about this is because I've seen dominant players in College on my Favorite team, Mike Williams, Dwayne Jerret, who all play the same as Jeffrey (but more successful) and do very little in the NFL because of their difficulty separating.

You'll see, I'll bet money on it, they are the same every-time. Doesn't translate to the NFL well.

    Same as Jeffery?

Go watch his sophomore season. He was incredible. He is not a slow player, he made a lot of yards after the catch that year.

  6. YES, if you watch his proday you will observe him scouting the field sometimes before throwing to his receiver. After the ball is hiked, his head will shift to the opposite side of where his receiver is, then scan the field, find his one receiver and throw the ball. It wouldn't suprise me if he was imagining defenders and other receivers on the field. His brain works in mysterious ways. His head is probably a constant game of Madden on All-Madden.

It's a pro day where you throw passes, not a game...

Why do people on here always feel the need to defend Andrew Luck? You don't have to baby him around... he's a 22 year old man...

  7. I've watched about 4 games from Griffin and a crap load from Luck.

Luck is the Most accurate game time thrower i've see. He puts everything on the money. Forget a deep pass, you only get 2-3 of those a game. And if it comes up, he can get it there.

But hitches, slants, crosses and post are Johnny on the Spot. More than Sam Bradford....Sam Bradford, seriously? AHAHA.

The only guy in recent memory who had as much bewteen the numbers, over the LB in front of the Safety accuracy was Philip Rivers.

If you laughed at Sam Bradford's accuracy, then your bias just exploded through the computer screen. He might be the most accurate college passer in recent memory. If you look at one simple stat, completion percentage, it's lower than Robert Griffin III's. Also, Robert Griffin III's yards per attempt is 10.7 yards compared to Andrew Luck's 8.7 yards.

Luck does not put everything on the money as you seem to claim, just like no other quarterback does.

  8. I get it... You are jumping in, mid conversation, and aren't seeing where my comments were coming from. I'm not making excuses, and I know relatively little about Mr. Luck. While I really hope whoever the Colts plug in at QB turns out to be nearly as awesome as Manning, I have no preference for who that may be.

The discussion here was whether Luck's arm can be described as weak or powerless. Frankly, I wouldn't really care if the consensus was that he is awful, but my point is that I've seen nothing in his pro day or game film to suggest he is weak or powerless.

And no, one overthrown pass out of 50, outdoors, into the wind, is not bad. If you are expecting better, maybe a robot football league will start up soon.

What are you talking about? Who said I was being sarcastic about anything... ;)

And I didn't say you were making excuses, you yourself said it was Steve Young. Forgive me if I think some of these excuses just sound really silly. He underthrew the receiver because he was acting like their was an imaginary defender? Give me a break haha...

  9. yeah, people need to realize...especially people who don't follow the draft, There is always a concensus NO.1 QB and despite what people say, nobody to this day know what a NFL ready QB looks like.

Just like Neo's first Jump program, Everybody falls the first time...I don't care how good you're gonna be.

It's up to the coaches to take a Talented kid like Luck and Make him either the Cornerstone of a Great offense or the Queen piece of a prolific Team.

Luck's are...not the strongest but strong enough. When people talk about his strength they are correct. Although Luck is by far the Most accurate QB i've seen throw in years, many of the Hitch throw will get pick off if he throws at that Velocity. It up to him and the Coaches to work on that.

I'm not sure where you got that from, because I wouldn't say Andrew Luck is the most accurate quarterback in years. I give that to Sam Bradford, as he was incredibly accurate at Oklahoma. And I do think that Robert Griffin III is a little more accurate than Luck. Just watch him throw it, especially on the deep passes.

  10. I watched his pro day from start to finish, and heard comments about his throws looking effortless, not one about them being powerless. I commented on here about a couple passes looking short in the early going, but it was pointed out that he made a convincing adjustment after the first 2 balls. Steve Young was even commenting that the short looking balls were actually intentional (I have no way to confirm, that is just what I heard him say) because he was throwing as if a defender was on the field, and he was positioning the ball in the best place for only the receiver to have access to it, in some cases intentionally bringing the receiver back to get the ball. If it had been Dilfer saying it, I wouldn't trust it. But Steve Young has been an excellent QB in the NFL, and I trust what he is saying the job requires.

Don't forget that when Andrew Luck overthrew the ball, he did it on purpose to get a ball over the imaginary defender...

Some of these excuses just sound ridiculous lol...

  11. I doubt the Broncos bring in Tamme + Clark. It's one or the other. Stokley is almost a sure bet. Played with the Broncs, fans love him, and he's played with PM. If Saturday doesn't come back then he'll be there.

I think Jeff's been a little weird about this. It seems like the only place he wants to go is wherever PM is, and he doesn't seem like he wants to come back to the city that's help make his career. A little selfish, but I still love him.

Calling Jeff Saturday selfish? That's a very trashy statement on your part sir. The colts have destroyed almost all that they had and almost all of what Jeff Saturday had in Indianapolis. Now you think the colts deserve him to stay? I've got no words for that...

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but your comment at the end just frustrates me a lot...

  12. This is true. They had some similarities. Including injuries although Eli did not get knocked out like Rodgers did.

And they both beat icky teams in the big one too.

Altho 10 regular season wins (or any double digit number) does sound a tad better then 9. Don't think you can get too picky though when you win the big one.

You go 9-7 with a good team if that team is loaded with injuries, which the Giants were before the season even started.

  13. Original poster said:

"...and anybody who boos PM is not a Colts fan either"

WRONG! If, after all of this, P. Manning goes for the money and signs with the senile Bud Adams' team, I will BOOOOOOOOOoooooooo!!! Peyton Manning like I BOOOOOOOOOOoooooooo!!! ALL OTHER TITANS PLAYERS.

Peyton is no longer an Indianapolis Colt. The Flaming Thumbtacks are a hated rival. Why are you still on this forum if you are a Peyton Manning fan and not a Colts fan? Just killing time until the "decision"?

    That's a pretty ungrateful attitude...

  14. So i guess my question should be when you jump on another bandwagon due to Peyton being there what happens when he retires? another bandwagon maybe......please at that point stay away from the horeshoe.

Your use of the term "bandwagon" is rude, incorrect and just plain dumb. Bandwagon means supporting a team or person when they are successful and them dropping them when they are not. Your the one dropping Peyton Manning, not BmoreColt. Whose the bandwagon fan now?

  15. Usually a favorite team is the one you watched on TV growing up so the local one is almost always it. In the case of where I live in Northwest Indiana, the local team is Chicago but as I grew up in Indy we didn't have a team until adulthood so it was easy to take the hometown team over the local team.

I do have a question though, how do you grow up watching a team and not have them as your favorite?

There is no team haha. Plus I liked every team because they had cool names.

  16. OK, last time I'm gonna say it, it's the SWITCHING that makes it lame. Jesus. Read my original post and every one after that. I'm pretty sure I mention that every time.

Oh lol, I think you are misinterpreting the original poster that's why I didn't understand what you were saying, I thought you meant something else instead.

I bet she is still a fan of the Falcons, but she is a fan of the colts because of Peyton Manning. She never said she switched allegiance from the Falcons, she just got a new team to like is what I think she was trying to say.

  17. I feel like you're asking me this because it's right in the middle of two teams. If that's the case, then it's whichever team you want. But switching around after you've picked is lame.

I think it's boring for your favorite team to automatically be where you are from...

Be creative, you don't have to be from Indiana to be a colts fan... just like you don't have to be from Texas to be a Texan's fan. I'm a colts fan because I liked the players and how the organization was run. That just sounds so boring, be a fan of your hometown team just because they're your hometown team... It's more than just that.

  18. Opps sorry. Misread that.

On that note though, this was always a little bit fuzzy for me, but technically wasn't Chris Polian the top guy when they fired him?

I don't know for sure, but I always considered Bill Polian to be the top guy. He was the vice chairman, he just didn't make all the day to day decisions that he used to. I still think he could have overuled Chris at any time though because Chris was the GM.
