  1. I didn’t say they weren’t doing it at all. Just not much. But I think that’ll change as AR develops.
  2. I agree. But in Alec’s defense, his game is downfield. And our offense just isn’t doing that much - yet.
  3. I’ll never understand fans griping about spending a little money on a reliable kicker with range. There aren’t that many of them and they often factor decisively in close games. After watching AV’s last couple years and Hot Rod after year 1 (which was good, but showed limited range), I was thrilled when we signed Matt Gay.
  4. It was his 14th competitive start since high school…against a pretty good NFL defense. Richardson was just fine today. Yeah, he made some mistakes. And, yeah, they didn’t go downfield much. All in all, I was pleased with him. But Pierce…man. He needs to get open. Or we need to find a different WR2.
  5. I’ll remain silent about what I’ve done in the past. But I forked over the bucks for Sunday Ticket this year. It certainly isn’t cheap. I think they’d sell a lot more subs if it was priced lower. I’m just glad I no longer have to get DirecTV to get it. It’s way overdue.
  6. This is closer to where I'm at than most posts here. I'd probably bump it to 2500 yards (that's an average of only about 150 ypg). But, other than that, I think these benchmarks make sense. But I also agree with whoever said that that most important thing will be his improvement.
  7. I figured somebody would grab Rush. Not surprised the Chiefs did. I think he's got some real potential. But apparently he just didn't have a great camp -- and Darrell Baker Jr. really did. So, there you go.
  8. Yeah, Sills was acquitted of the charges (it was kidnapping and rape, BTW). So, legally, he's totally in the clear. But hopefully it was, like, innocent not guilty....rather than just insufficient evidence not guilty. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/38135259/jury-finds-eagles-ol-josh-sills-not-guilty-rape-kidnapping
  9. Damn, Land is 215 lbs as an edge rusher? Get that guy some pancakes, stat!
  10. Wouldn't it be a kick in the chops if Rush ends up making the Chiefs squad and turns out to be a dude?
  11. It came from a story in The Athletic. I didn’t link it because it’s behind a paywall.
  12. They weren’t blasting Irsay in general…just for inserting himself very publicly into a contract dispute. Ballard would never, ever admit it publicly - and probably not even privately (at least while he’s still with the Colts). But I’d be willing to bet my house that he secretly wished that Irsay would’ve stayed out of it, too. His comments may or may not have hurt the situation. But they clearly didn’t help. And, again, I say that as a fan.
  13. I know he’s well-regarded within the league. I regard him highly, too. I have long praised Irsay as an owner. I just don’t think his public comments have been helpful for the Colts here. And some agents have shared the same opinion. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/colts-jim-irsay-blasted-by-nfl-agents-for-jonathan-taylor-contract-situation/ar-AA1fSUAC
  14. While I put about 100% of the blame in this fiasco on Malki Kawa (and, of course, JT for following his bad advice), I do have to say that I really wish Irsay would've kept out of it. I've gathered that he has a really hard time keeping his thoughts from making their way to his vocal chords -- especially when there's a microphone nearby. This is a situation where it would've been far better for him to just say some nice things about Taylor and defer everything regarding his contract situation to Ballard.
  15. It’s not that uncommon for good players to get cut. Sometimes teams just have an embarrassment of riches in this or that position room. The Browns’ OL room is one that probably qualifies right now.
  16. Personally, I think he'd be just as legit if his name was Marvin Jefferson, Jr. At the college level, anyway, he is a phenomenal WR. Does that mean he'll be able to meet or surpass his father's accomplishments in the NFL? No. There are no guarantees. But it's within the realm of possibility. I do think a lot of Colts fans have some built-in bias because of the family connection, though.
  17. I’d be all for getting Hunt and whatever else we could get in the way of draft picks. I doubt we’ll get a starting IOL to go along with a 2 and a 4 tho.
  18. If I had to guess right now, I’d say we’ll at least be close in the 2024 draft order to have a shot at Marvin Jr. I’m guessing we’ll win somewhere between 3-6 games.
