That makes sense and is good to know he doesn’t have a bad injury.

Mack was on the sideline with his helmet and chinstrap buckled.  That to me said he was willing and able.

All 2-2 but get the feeling it's Colts division to lose. Already beat Tenn on road, Jax struggling even vs Denver who is awful and Houston's O line getting worse if thats possible.

Its a long season.  I think we're built for the long haul. But are stars have to be healthy and that's not a reflection on our depth.  We don't have a Top 5 QB that can hide offensive and defensive weaknesses.  We need Mack, Leonard, TY, and Hooker back - although #37 can ball.  That was the good news from yesterday.

Yeah that is inexcusable. How does that happen. Is it the scheme or players not being where they need to be. I hope with Leonard back and walker going back to his natural position will help. You wonder how much of a mistake it was to move walker instead of purring okereke at the WILL.

Isn't the old adage, you build from the middle....Okereke is going to be good.  The instincts are there but the experience is not.  I wonder if Speed should get some snaps at the WILL or can Okereke move there - I don't recall him playing much there during the preseason.

I saw a play where Ryan missed a wide open Jones in the end zone. I breathed a sigh of relief and was glad he didn't see it. I don't know how he missed it. Easy TD.

Ryan's INT was a terrible pass. I was surprised that he threw that pass.

Most people would say the Ryan is on "another level" you speak of.

Even the best QBs make mistakes here and there. I'm not saying that Brissett can't improve. Of course he can, and I believe he will.

I've seen Luck make more mistakes than I care to remember.

My point is, if you are looking for Brissett to play a mistake free game, every game, or most games, in your mind he will never achieve "another level".

I agree with this.  JB7 has started 21-22 games in his career.  17 of them with a terrible team and even then he had a 2:1 TD/INT ratio.  I get that this Forum has very knowledgeable fans who like to debate the game and players.    Sure he needs to read things more quickly, look off Safeties and know when to take risks.  Reich has JB trending in the right direction -with the game on the line, Reich put the ball in JB's hands.  That's showing a lot of trust that the kid is ready.

My unpopular opinion about Brissett when listening to him in interviews is that he doesn't seem very personable. He just seems too arrogant or a little demeaning, reporters or not. I just get the overall feeling that if you approached him as a fan, he would probably brush you off or something. I hope I'm wrong, just my first impression of him.

I can see how you came to this.  Sometimes he's better off ignoring that the question is stupid or repetitive, give an answer and move on.  I do think that arrogant is the wrong descriptor.  If he was arrogant he'd be much more likely to want to talk about himself.  He talks about "we, we, we".

Eh. I predicted a loss against the Chargers and Titans as well. I don't feel 100% confident in a win against the Falcons either, especially depending on how Leonard and Desir's injuries pan out.

I don't expect Leonard to make it onto the field this week. I'm also concerned about Mack. He did not practice today either.  Hope this is a precaution.

The Colts just played a top defensive team in the Titans so I don't quite get what you said you don't know what happens when the play a top team.

I don’t view the Titans as a top team. The Pats win was pure emotion.  Don’t trust the QB and don’t trust Vrabel either.

  8. I think it might be similar to the Pats game.   Colts make a run in the 3rd quarter after halftime adjustments.  That Rams defense is way more stout than the Pats.  What a challenge for our OL. Andrew might have to carry the Colts throwing 35+ times or more.  He’d have to scramble for a couple of 1st downs. TEs have to dominate, TY gets double coverage and the other WRs have to contribute (no drops).  The defense has have take-aways, limit big plays, and pressure Goff.  I’m afraid of what Gurley might do. Too many opposing, average RBs have solid days against the Colts. Gurley can’t have a solid day, it opens up too much.

He gives a really good comparison to what Rodgers has had(and currently has)vs what Luck is working with. Us Colts fans talk about this all the time, but I didn't realize until Colin put the numbers up just how great some of the stuff around Rodgers is. Not taking anything away from Rodgers. Guy is the best in the league(for now)and has been for a few years. We're hard on Luck around here, but the numbers don't lie in this case.

Yes, Colts fans are hard on him.  He has average talent around him.  He’s shown us he can still ball.  Luck is as mentally tough as they come and hasn’t gotten nearly enough credit for it. The WRs totally let him down.  He doesn’t have a bell cow RB or even a good one. The OL pass protects pretty well but can run block.

Ballard has much work to do.

This team will not win the Super Bowl this year, but the hope is to make the playoffs to give some of the young guys experience.

Unfortunately, we have lost two winnable games, but winning the division is not out of the realm. Hopefully, Castonzo is coming back sooner than later.

I have never thought that this is a playoff team. I think they’re better than expected but too young and still too many holes.

Let's ignore that Ballard drafted two busts in a row, Wilson and Basham. I like Ballard just fine, but let's not act like he hasn't made any mistakes

You have no chill dude. Have you anything positive to say?  The team is headed in the right direction and Ballard gets credit for that.  Drafting and FA acquisitions are not a science

  12. When is the last time we could say that the Colts look like a well coached team?  They rebounded well from a disappointing loss against the Bengals.  No hangover. No cheer leading from Riech just got the boys the ready to play.

He threw that rope to TY on the sideline that somehow fit into a window so small I still don't know how it got in there...  As others have stated, his accuracy and release has most certainly improved.  He's reading and just letting it rip.  His velocity on the short and intermediate throws has been excellent.  The passes to Hines and on the crossing patterns and slants have been mostly perfect.  Not too slow or fast.  Not aiming/guiding the pass and thus causing it to be late or high.  Ripped right in there to allow for some YAC.

So I'd say he's throwing a much better ball to the short and intermediate levels.  And as for the deep ball, the pass to TY and the two back shoulder throws were right on target in tight coverage.  So far everything looks better than ever.

I agree. Luck looks like a better passer. We used to see some wobbly balls. His balls are consistently tight.  Now, if he could eliminate the one or two bad decisions he makes that lead to INTs.

Actually, imo, we had some good talent those early years. WR, Wayne & T.Y.. . TE, Fleener & Allen played well.. . RB, Ballard ran hard and well before injuries.

I feel the same way.  Reggie was Luck's go to receiver and Mathis was a difference maker on defense. Those are HOFers.

  15. The Colts finally have an offense and play caller that recognizes the weakness of the OL.  2 dive plays into the line and a 7-step drop on 3rd down gets your QB injured for 585 days.  That offense can also keep the defense off the field too.  Red Zone scoring is critical.

Seattle isn't the same but I'm pretty happy with last night.

I'm not really looking for much other than no injuries.    The RB position may be the most important at this point.

Also, some attitude on defense.   That seems to grow through the team more than through the players.   If we can create that "chip on our shoulder" during preseason, perhaps it will carry through.

I agree.  I want to see attitude adjustments - discipline and toughness. There's not game planning on offense so its minimalistic.  I want to see #12 get that ball out of his hands quickly and avoid hits.  I want to see the defense tackle some people. We haven't seen them tackle in years
